Embassy Suites Savannah Historic District

All I can say is WOW! This is one of the nicest hotels I have had the pleasure of staying with. So many plus points here. The hotel is beautiful and seems very new. The staff is super nice, everyone welcomes you and works hard to make sure you are happy.
Value — our stay was $ 189 a night and well worth every penny. As many have reviewed there are two great extras for the value — breakfast buffet is awesome with the eggs made to order a huge win and the daily happy hour from 5:30 — 7:30 includes free beer, wine and well drinks. The sangria was excellent. Also included in the happy hour was snacks which included cheese & crackers, multiple chips and dips and fresh veggies.
Amenities at the hotel were also top notch from the outdoor heated pool, excellent gym equipment and a nice outdoor gas powered fire pit. Free on-​site parking garage is also a huge plus and then there’s the location, on the western side of the historic district you are now more than a 20 minute walk from all the restaurants, clubs and shops. The visitor center is a couple blocks away as well as all the trolley tours which you can get picked up right at the hotel and dropped off at the end. Concierge was very helpful, booked trolley tour right at the front desk and answered all my questions.
The front desk staff knew our names and greeted me, my wife and son every time we walked past. So friendly and professional. I feel we got a tremendous value for our 3 night stay and we will be back again, hopefully soon!

Embassy suites Savannah historical district
This Embassy suites was a friendly place to stay in this friendly city. The people at the front desk were so nice. We started out in room 544, but left the next morning because of the noisy air compressor on the roof above our room. Adeina was so helpful in getting us moved to a fabulous room, 337, very quiet and the biggest living room I’ve ever seen in a hotel suite.
In the course of moving from one room to another, we left behind a cushion we had brought from home. It took four calls to the front desk to try to locate it, but Ginny was the one who finally solve the problem.
When it came time to check out, I chatted with Ro, who is so nice, and Adeina again. I told I told them my favorite traveling pants had also gone missing in the move. (Adeina called me a few hours later to tell me that my pants had been found and that the hotel would mail them to my house. She made my day!)
As we packed up the car in front of the hotel, Blue, the valet, came out to chat with us. What a nice guy!
The hotel suite was lovely. In addition to the large living room, there was also a very large bathroom, with the toilet in the separate alcove. The shower has fabulous water pressure.
Shower safety tip: once you soap up, the tub gets super slippery, so put a hand towel on the floor of the tub after you get wet but before you pick up the soap. The towel remains in place and provides traction.
Happy Hour in the lobby included veggies, homemade-​tasting potato chips and an open bar. After a big day of sightseeing, it was nice to go downstairs for a drink and a snack and not have to go out to dinner. For those tired travelers who want dinner, there’s a French restaurant off the lobby.
It’s also worth mentioning that this hotel is well located. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotels — Oglethorpe square to start our architectural walking tour with Jonathan Stalcup, the Owens-​Thomas house, the Jepson Center, Leopold’s Ice Cream on Braughten Street, the riverfront, Telfair academy, and the Collins Quarter Restaurant on Bull Street and Bella Napoli Italian Bistro across from Oglethorpe Square.

I had an unfortunate experience at an Embassy Suites in Nashville Tennessee 1 year ago (January 2015). I was traveling for 30 days on business. The bottom line is the room was very dirty, and moldy, it was bad. They tried 2 more rooms, more of the same, so I left after 5 days of my 30 day stay and found a clean hotel. For the inconvenience, I was sent a Be My Guest certificate for one complimentary stay at an Embassy Suites.
Fast forward to today, January 2016 (1 year later) I wanted to use the Be My Guest Certificate, not for myself but for my close friends, who are celebrating their 25^th wedding anniversary. We all live in Tampa, but they wanted to go to Savannah Georgia (the Oglethorpe location). I offered them the Be My Guest certificate for one night, and they were going to PAY for the second night. Unfortunately, after I called the hotel in Savannah, I called the central reservation number, I called the corporate office, I was transferred over 4 times, told several times that the person I was speaking to was unfamiliar with a Be My Guest certificate and was finally told the ONLY person that can use the certificate is me. I found this ridiculous. I called customer service, I was told the same thing. I made as many calls as I possibly could, and I was told by Necholle Brown in corporate «You accepted the certificate!» I am just confused as to why I could not give this to my friends, who were going to also pay for an additional night. I talked to Jennifer Reeves at the Savannah Embassy Suites, she was so kind, trying everything to make this work for us, but she was also told no by her manager Wendy. Unfortunately, this has created a second negative experience. I have only had 2 experiences with Embassy Suites, but they will be my last. I do not want any more free night certificates or tokens of any kind, since my situation clearly shows that customer service in not a priority. I am writing this so that maybe it will inspire Embassy Suites to put the customer back on top. It seems penny wise, and pound foolish from a business perspective.

Great hotel in an even better location. The staff was friendly and the property was nice.

The location of the hotel is right on the edge of the historic district, but still conveniently located.
The service was very friendly, both at check-​in and at the bar/​restaurant.
The room was clean and roomy enough. The WiFi also worked well.

LOVED this ES. Seriously gorgeous and has a parking garage as well. Close to Riverwalk, downtown and the freeway.
While we were just passing through, I could picture staying here for a girls weekend or little family getaway. It’s a great value — lots of space for everyone, breakfast (pretty good — omelets to order, etc) and service was wonderful.

Managers reception had some decent selections on snacks. Beer on tap was Dos Equis Amber or Miller Lite. They had some sangria but it was a little weak.
The breakfast was great, good omelet, and plenty of options. Coffee was slightly weak. Kids running around unsupervised is my biggest pet peeve but that’s something the hotel can’t handle.
Room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. Directv in the room. Soap was super moisturizing. Not the biggest fan of the décor but it’s standard for all Savannah hotels.
Parking was $ 15 but super easy and convenient. Location in relation to downtown wasn’t bad. Our longest walk was 15mins to Rocks off the Bohemian.
Tl;dr: would recommend.

If you’re looking for a suite with a little more room to spread out then you can definitely do worse than this place. First, the location. While it says ‘Historic District’, please note that this place is at the very outer edge of the historic district. You can still walk to most destinations and the extra distance and additional calories burned may be a good thing when in Savannah.
The room was clean and quiet and had everything you’d expect for a hotel chain. The free breakfast was better than average, but the free drinks/​snacks in the evening were a bit disappointing. Oh and the floor in the food area was ALWAYS STICKY.

This hotel was amazing! The breakfast was great, the evening reception included all drinks and yummy hoes-d’ouerves. The room service was awesome, the staff was friendly, and the concierge was very information for our first trip to Georgia. I will stay here again for sure. And shout out to the amazing wait staff and bartender.

By far 5 stars! I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and this was by far the best. Registration was seamless, the room was excellent. First hotel stay where I wasn’t awakened at 2am by slamming doors or people giggling in the hall. Complementary breakfast was great and had a wide variety, happy hour with complementary beer, wine and light snacks. Parking was a bit much $ 15 per day, but in a downtown location you can almost expect it. A+

We arrived at the hotel around midday, where we were efficiently checked in by Wendy, who also proved to be most helpful and courteous throughout our stay.
The room itself is as advertised, with a small but adequate fridge and microwave oven. Our room was freshly decorated, clean and tidy. My only slight gripe was the somewhat noisy a/​c fan. Fortunately the bathroom fan could be switched on/​off independently from the light.
The weekday manager’s nightly special is a nice touch and safety deposit boxes are available at reception.
The hotel itself is situated on the edge of town but within easy walking distance of all the main touristy areas and restaurants (The Grey is just round the corner). The Old Savannah tour bus also stops at the hotel which makes it much easier to get around if you are feeling lazy or its raining cats and dogs.
I would most definitely stay here again.

Very friendly staff and clean rooms. It was my husband’s birthday and they went out of their way make sure that his stay was special!

This was the worse experience at a hotel one could ever have. It has taken me over a week since we’ve left to type this review because I was so upset. Upon checking in, Jessie was superb! Thereafter, just awful. We’re not familiar with the area so you depend on the staff for directions to venues and restaurants. When asked where a restaurant was, the response was, over there down the street. Wait a minute, what? Then we asked how to get to Savannah Riverboat? The reply, across the street at the Dot. What is a Dot? At this point, my expectations of this hotel hit rock bottom. We decided to drive. Savannah Riverboat made me feel a whole lot better. I was extremely satisfied with them! We get back to the hotel to rest a bit, but then became hungry so we called room service. It was 10:50pm. The reply, room service is close. On their menu, it says close at 11pm. It was 10:50pm. So they close before 11pm. So now, I can’t wait to check out! They tried to apologize, but the damage was already done! Never again Embassy!

Clean, close to City Market (about a 5 – 10 minute walk). Pricey but we had points to cover the entire price. The managers reception was awesome, the breakfast was amazing, they let us do a late check out since it was our anniversary. I have no regrets staying here… and would stay again for a special occasion!

I am Embassy Suites loyal and whenever I get the chance to visit one of their hotels, I jump at it. I knew that this location would be nice, based on how new it was. I can honestly say that this was the nicest Embassy Suites that I have ever been to.
The sprawling lobby is very welcoming. The valet and check in staff were extremely friendly and they allowed me to check in hours before the normal check in time. Our room was pretty standard for an ES room.
The happy hour was fabulous (5:30 — 7:30). Free beer, wine, liquor, and snacks. Normally the snacks consist of gold fish or chips and salsa. This location had nachos with chili cheese and even some cole slaw to feast on. There was a roaring fire in the lobby, which was nice to relax near.
The breakfast was great, as well, with all of the normal breakfast offerings. This hotel was a bit more expensive than some of the other local chain hotels, but it was worth every penny!

This Embassy is one of the newest and by far a superior choice when staying in Savannah. Here is a breakdown of the overall quality of this stunning property.
Service: Staff is superb! Becki in the bar is one of the most friendly and attentive bartenders I have ever experienced. The front desk staff is super efficient and all pitch in to help out.
Housekeeping/​Cleanliness– fresh, clean, spotless. Staff is friendly and attentive the upmost detail.
Internet: Great speed
Breakfast: made to order/​chef prepared omelette, sliced fruits, fresh Danish.

A terrific, albeit pricey 4 night stay in a comfortable suite that’s walking distance to everything in the historic district. I was a little surprised to have to pay extra for parking considering I had already paid a very hefty price for the room. The pillows leave a lot to be desired — too soft and just flatten to a pancake, otherwise, the bed is fairly comfortable, even for someone who is used to an adjustable sleep number bed.
The manager’s reception is a refreshing welcome to the hotel each late afternoon/​early evening, drinks on the house and light snacks to munch on while chatting with the staff, management, family or simply watching some football at the bar. The staff is friendly but may sometimes be a little overzealous when it comes time to clear half empty glasses from a table. More than once I looked up to watch the game to later look down and find my beverage had been cleared from the table without my knowing it.
The «made to order» breakfast is simply a buffet with an option to ask the cooks to make specific omelettes or eggs done a specific way. Get there either very early or sometime after 9:30 AM because from 8ish to 9:30ish it’s almost impossible to find a place to sit down and eat.
Overall, a nice stay.

This hotel deserves 4.5 stars. The only things missing are safes in the room, along with being one block away from MLK Blvd. In spite of those two items, this is unlike any Embassy Suites I’ve ever seen – it’s a first-​class hotel barely in a less-​than-​desirable neighborhood. Having said that, we didn’t feel the least bit uncomfortable walking to/​from our hotel, even after dark.
The suites are large, newly appointed, and clean. There are two large-​screen (48″?) HDTV’s in each suite. The bedding is very comfortable.
Free breakfast is included in the price of the room, and it includes just about anything you could want. Free self-​parking is about 25′ from the hotel, with limited access by room card. In short, you get a lot for your money at this hotel.

We picked this hotel due to its location relative to the Savannah historic district and due to the fact that it was an Embassy Suites. When I used to travel on business — I frequently stayed at Embassy Suites and always found them to be exceptionally nice hotels. This hotel is relatively new, very clean, very quiet and very well maintained. The complimentary breakfast at an Embassy Suites is not only hot but includes eggs and omelets cooked to order, bacon, sausage, pastries, oatmeal and cereal and selection of juices. And there’s an evening reception (5:30 — 7:30) that includes complimentary beer and wine with a selection of light appetizers.
The hotel is about ½ mile from the historic River Street district and you can easily walk from River St to the hotel in 15 – 20 minutes. The City of Savannah also runs a free shuttle (there is a boarding stop in the transit center across from the hotel and another at the visitor’s center which is only a block away). The only downside to the shuttle is that it only runs until 9:00 — so if you want to have dinner down by the River District — you may need to walk back.
