I used to be a gym rat. No pain no gain and all that. But it was a lot of pain. Then I started taking Pilates about 10 years ago and my body has never felt better. My lower back pain has gone away, I walk taller and my posture is great. The whole staff there is amazing and they are always adding equipment and exercises to challenge me.

I’ve been taking group classes for a few years now, and I feel so much better for it. The instructors are fantastic and will work with you to push harder (or ease up) should you want that. The new space is nice, with much more room to spread out. The addition of TRX is a nice bonus.

I absolutely love Core Pilates. I have done 3 privates with Jeanette and one group class with Alice. They have been amazing. Both Jeanette and Alice are very knowledgable. I have a shoulder injury and Jeanette gave me a couple of release exercises that immediately helped.
I have been to many Pilates studios in NY, LA and SF and Core Pilates is shaping up to be my favorite.
Aside from the great instruction, the studio is bright & airy and the atmosphere is relaxed. Some studios are a bit too precious about everything or even a bit standoffish. This is not the case here — everyone is warm and friendly — it’s really a top-​notch studio.

I found a deal thru one of the deal sites and it was actually for a large package that includes 3 private sessions and then 5 equipment classes. I came once for the private and it wasn’t a good workout, while the teacher was nice, her and I’s fitness level wasn’t matching up. I didn’t even break a sweat. Additionally, the private instructors schedule wasn’t fitting with mine and they didn’t try to set me up with another instructor. I bought a whole package and only came once. Disappointing.

I have been to Core Pilates twice now. My first time was a very challenging cardio jump board class and my second was a private session with the owner. I been to about 30 Pilates classes at 5 different studios and this private session was by far my favorite. Jeanette was very kind and patient and tailored the session around a recent injury. Even though I was injured I still got a great, but gentle workout. You can find free street parking for two hours, even on weekends and the small size of the studio gives you personalized attention, even in a group class.

I didn’t know what Pilates was, but a sign in the window said it could help with post-​natal challenges, so I went in to ask questions. Best. Decision. Ever. I’ve been going weekly for about nine months now and not only is my diastasis recti (from 3 pregnancies) definitely improved to the point that I think it may not need to be surgically repaired, but I feel stronger all over, have lost the baby weight, and the ankle that needed surgery may no longer need surgery. I’ve mostly seen Elizabeth, who is a Pilates rock star. Despite attending private and group classes 1 – 2 times a week, every class has been different and she challenges me to grow in a new way every time. Everyone at the studio is extremely knowledgeable about Pilates, health, the human body, and they are supportive and friendly. If I had more time, I would become a Core Pilates groupie.

Core Pilates Sausalito is great! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I started doing pilates after having two ACL surgeries in five years. After my second surgery my physical therapist suggested pilates as a good training method to keep my knee strong. And all I have to say is WOW! I am hooked. My knee feels great and I am back outside doing the things I love.

Breaking my Unilocal hiatus because Core Pilates needs a review! The Marin Branch of Core Pilates on 17th in the Mission, this is a really solid local studio for those of us who can’t abide gym Pilates classes and don’t want to drive too far for some good classic Pilates.
Brooke and Yvonne are great — I love Brooke’s no mercy ski conditioning classes (despite not being a skier), and Yvonne is wonderful with newcomers. They often run great monthly specials, and the pricing is really reasonable when you buy packages, which is nice for Pilates addicts like myself who still have to watch the coinage.
You can book and purchase classes online, and they also offer prenatal Pilates and a weekly class just for men (and *hopefully* will be adding a mat class or two).
