History

Established in 1998.

When Daniel O’Brien started his moving company, he had one truck — and a commitment to work hard, treat his customers fairly and deliver superior service.

Today, nearly 15 years after that first truck, Daniel’s company, Watford Moving & Storage, has become one of the most trusted moving and storage companies in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys.

In many ways, Daniel’s story is a more modern version of the tale of Stevens Worldwide Van Lines. In 1905, Frederick Stevens started his moving company with one horse and one wagon, and a vow to grow his company with long hours, honesty and a willingness to embrace change.

Today, Stevens is a leader in the moving and storage industry with agent partners across the United States and around the world.

I’m very happy with the service. Getting my elderly mom moved to assisted living was difficult enough. The movers were very professional and helpful with getting her moved in and set up. My experience with Watford moving was Outstanding. They showed up right on time and promptly and carefully packed up all of my belongings. The returned the next morning — right on time, loaded everything, stopped by my storage unit to unload some thing and proceeded to my new home. They unpacked everything carefully placing it precisely where it wanted it. The boxes were well packed and clearly labeled. They placed them in a way that I could see the label which has made packing much more efficient. The movers were courteous and kind and didn’t leave until they had offered to move any furniture or unpack any large items we needed unpacked. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Start to finish, a wonderful experience.
My mom, at age 92, was so nervous about moving, but Morgan and Rigo were wonderful and courteous and cheerful and, yes, even flirty with her! They made her feel comfortable and safe.
They were super gentle and careful with her things, but quick and professional.
Daniel called shortly after the start to make sure everything was going well, which made me feel like he really cared.
I would recommend this company absolutely and without hesitation.

Watford Movers its staff from front office to the field were OUTSTANDING!!! From the quote process, confirmation of the move, moving day and furniture set up eased the stress and weight of the move. I only moved a block down and they treated my belongings with care as if I was moving cross country. Watford has very professional and excellent service. I just contracted with Watford for the second time, this time to move me out of state. Daniel and his crew are great to deal with. They were polite, took excellent care of our belongings and blanket wrapped, laid down floor protection, etc. to make sure that nothing was damaged. The crew worked tirelessly on our move, both loading and unloading. The follow up was great and appreciated. You can’t go wrong hiring Watford!

I can’t say enough amazing things about Watford. In the fall of 2015 I hired Watford for the second time to move me across Los Angeles. As with the first time, the team couldn’t have been more professional and friendly. Moving is obviously one of the most stressful things to go through, and Daniel and his team do everything they can to take the stress out of it. First of foremost, the folks at Watford — from Daniel, to the office team, to the packers and movers themselves — are just as kind as it gets. There was never any drama or extra stress added at any stage of the process. They are timely, fair and wonderful to work with. Do not think twice about hiring Watford — I guarantee you will have a fantastic experience. They are, quite simply, as good as it gets!

I have used Watford Moving four times, and had a great experience each time they helped me move. They meticulously wrapped all of my furniture in blankets, and made moving painless (literally) and simple (Ok — simpler — moving is never simple). I recently moved to Tennessee, and my husband and I loaded and unloaded a moving crate by ourselves. What a nightmare. It was somewhat less expensive, but I can honestly say that I would never attempt that again. Having a company that I trust to move my household items really prevents some major stress while moving. If/​when we make another major move, I’ll be calling Watford.

Wow! A response by the owner Daniel to my previous negative review is either a flat out lie or he’s confused me with another client. Our furniture WAS NOT moved from storage nor did we ask for any refunds over a timing discrepancy. And yes Daniel, most of my reviews on Unilocal are for vendors that I am unsatisfied with. I don’t get inspired to write reviews about services unless they’re extraordinarily good or bad. Most services I receive are merely mediocre so I’m not moved to take the time and effort to write a review on Unilocal about them. On the other hand, the service you provided was bad enough to be worth the effort. Congrats.

Let me say this is a fabulous moving company. I am writing this review to dispute «Charlie“s» review.
Charlie is not the person’s real name. It is Jan. She is the HOA president and is vindictive and not telling the truth. There
are five witness that what she is saying is completely false. No common area was damaged by these movers. They never even used the stairs! The truth is the HOA president is upset with the former owners. This is a poor attempt to try and get even.
The sad thing is that the HOA president — has no clue that by posting a false review that they could be sued for defamation of character. Please ignore the review Charlie posted. NOT TRUE. And if you are going to make a false claim at least have the courage to use your real name!
Best moving company. Extremely professional staff. No hesitation.

Watford Moving and Storage did a fantastic job with my items. They picked up for a jam packed storage unit in the Los Angeles area and expertly packed and transported the items to San Francisco. They arrived on time, were friendly and professional, and efficiently brought the items into my home and set everything up-​including building my bed frame and outdoor couch! The things I had sent were large and bulky-​King bed, headboard and frame, an outdoor sofa set, two large overstuffed chairs and a couple lamps and miscellaneous items. Everything arrived in perfect condition and was installed speedily but properly. Thanks so much!!!

I used this company for labor (unloading my POD). I was referred to them through my apartment complex because I am new to the area, having moved from North Carolina to California. I knew nothing about the area, but I can honestly say that I am glad for the recommendation because moving is already stressful enough. I first spoke with Herriott who did the entire set up for my move. Herriott was so patient with me and got me scheduled within one day with the perfect crew. Marvin and Miguel were my movers. I was so at ease once the men got to work. Both men came in and got the job done quickly and efficiently. I have a 3bd townhome and all my rooms are set up exactly the way they were back in North Carolina. Once they were finished they asked if I needed help with anything, but they had taken care of everything! I will definitely use them if I ever need them again and would encourage others to do so as well.

This company is great! We have used them in three different moves and every time the crew they send is wonderful. They are on time, positive, professional, and friendly. They move quickly and are focused on getting the job done. They are careful with the furniture, wrap it well and will remove doors if needed to safely get items through. There are no hidden charges, they tell you everything upfront and we’ve never been disappointed or over charged. Truly a great company that cares about excellent customer service!
