5 Stars for my current(not-so-secret-anymore) favorite chill beach spot. Despite my recent affinity for the modern«crop top,» I’m past the stage where my ideal beach-day includes Jell-O shots and loud music(Dang kids! ~grumpy old Andi). This is more my [geriatric] speed. It’s essentially a beach entrance with a parking lot(limited but never full), outdoor shower, and actual, real bathrooms. It’s silly how much flushable toilets make me giddy… And yet considering the smell of a typical Porto Potty on a hot day it’s not so silly. The real highlight though is once you walk over the bridge to see the beautiful ocean and near-empty beach. This is a surfing favorite so expect to see tanned folks riding some waves. Other than that you may see a few families, as the fact that there aren’t any beachside bars really helps keep it calm and clean. Overall, this is a great beach for creeping on surfers and relaxing. Looking for a rowdier beach with bars and music? Drive 10 minutes North and check out Cocoa Beach.

My secret spot(maybe not now!). Small parking area with bathrooms. Beautifully sea fig wooded deck walk to beach and a seperate deck area with picnic tables. Walk down to a short but untouched beach area that is usually very private if you’re looking for quiet.

Hightower is our favorite beach to come to. It’s never very crowded and they have clean facilities. The sand is nice and the view is beautiful.

Hightower Beach will always have a place dear to my heart! After all, I used to frequent this beach as a young girl when I first moved to Florida and lived practically a stone’s throw away! Hightower Beach has had a make over since the days of my youth, but they are positive changes to include a new and bigger parking lot and boardwalk! The beach looks great and this is a great access point to the Atlantic Ocean! This is a hot spot for locals, military members/families, and surfers, with it’s perfectly central location in Satellite Beach.

My favorite beach and a favorite for several locals. No life guards but also no questionable people. Lots of security

Great beach with clean restrooms, picnic table/pavilion, and boardwalk overlooking the beach. Only complaints: Unless you get there super early on the weekend, there won’t be any parking left. The boardwalk is pretty short. was hoping for a longer boardwalk to take my baby in the stroller and go for a nice beachside walk.

The irony of Hightower Beach Park’s name is not lost on me. It is the only sizable section between Melbourne Beach & Cape Canaveral that does not contain high towers. This ½ mile of barren oceanfront property was partly donated in the 60’s, and partly purchased by the city in the 90’s. It was August 09′ when the city opened facilities at this beach access point including restrooms, emergency phones, lights, showers, and a 560 foot boardwalk overlooking the ocean. Satellite Beach rocks. No seriously, Satellite Beach ROCKS. Wade barefoot into the ocean and see how long it takes for your legs to find a jagged rock. Three seconds? I thought so. I’m constantly ramming into rocks, with my feet, shins, and knees. Then I think of the Finding Nemo shark, sent into a relentless feeding frenzy by a drop of blood. I don’t know how the surfers survive, but there’s usually a couple out there. Forgettable to most; Hightower Beach Park reminds me of what I like best about Brevard County. The free parking, clean facilities, feeling of safety, and the small gatherings on the beach to watch a rocket or shuttle launch. This is truly a great place to live.
