Matt is an absolute artist, professional and a gem. He is responsive, reliable and reasonable. After trying to work with an invitation company and wasting a lot of time, I frantically called Matt. He quickly sent me proofs and made changes easily. Hands down he is the easiest person to work with and I would highly recommend his services. He is truly an artist. I live in NY and he is in CA but the distance didn’t matter at all. An absolute pleasure all around.
A brief note. His envelopes are lovely but I ruined six with my printer because they are thick. Make sure you use heavy weight setting under advanced printer settings. Matt got back to me right away with recommendations. Good thing he included a few extras!

Matthew Kelsey printed my wedding invitations almost 8 years ago — I just came across the extras I kept and I’m still so happy with them I felt like I should contribute a review.
My husband and I designed the invitation ourselves and they turned out just as we had envisioned. Matt was easy to work with. He took the time to answer all of our questions and the pricing was very reasonable. The results were beautiful. I haven’t had any need for letterpress printing since then, but if I did, I would not hesitate to use Matthew Kelsey again.

Matt’s services were such an incredibly lucky find for us! We hired Matt for our letterpress wedding invitations. Letterpress invitations through the boutiques in Los Gatos were incredibly out of our budget and I was having trouble getting responses from etsy vendors that did offer them in our budget.
A friend suggested to cut out the middle man and just work with the letterpress printer directly and that’s how we found Matt. He was quick to respond and we made an appointment to look at some samples. He has a lot of great ones on his site and even more in person. He was very accommodating in combining our own custom design with some decorative details of his own. The proofing process was very quick.
His pricing and turnaround time both easily beat out the other options out there. And due to a slight miscommunication, our reception cards were printed on the wrong size. He went ahead and reprinted them on the correct size at no additional charge — excellent customer service! And of course, it was a great bonus to not have to worry about shipping as I was located close enough to just pick them up. He even printed our envelopes first so I could work on addressing them while he printed the rest of the suite.
We are so pleased with his craftsmanship and we even have the wedding invitation framed in our home. I highly recommend his services!

Matthew did a great job letter pressing the invitations for our wedding.
I had a very simple idea in mind: I would do the design and find a printer. Surprisingly difficult, in fact. The majority of printers were overly-​expensive, overly-​fussy, and unwilling to take small print runs or wanted you to use their cookie-​cutter designs.
Matthew was cheaper, faster and less of a hassle than the other printers I called. The job took a little longer than initially expected but even with that delay, he was still faster than what the competition quoted. He also was kind enough to look at the designs. Sounds obvious enough, but I’ve known lots of printers who just blindly throw the design into the machine and when it comes out bad, blame you. He notified me of a few spots where he thought the lines would be too thin to be legible — which I was really grateful for, since it was my first time working in letter press.
Phone is the best way to reach him. I think he’s too busy slaving away over the printer to answer emails sometimes.
The invitations came out exactly has I imagined, and we have received lots of compliments. They now hang on our walls as a reminder of our wedding.
Next time we have a letter press job, we will call Matthew.

He was wonderful to work with from the get go, as he was responsive to both my e-​mails and phone calls & took the time to work out the details of my save-​the-​dates and invitations with me. I designed my own, and he was very patient with me when I suggested that we make small changes, even after he would show me proofs. The turn around was fairly quick — I waited a little less than week for the completion of my project. I highly recommend him to all brides and professionals alike in need of letterpress printing!

I am completely thrilled with the letterpress invitations Matt made for our organization. We are having a black tie gala for our centennial and needed 400 invitations and response cards. Matt did wonderful work on the design and got it just right based on our requirements. He even suggested foil stamping which turned out to be a gorgeous addition — I wasn’t aware of that possibility. He’s a super-​nice guy, but don’t be deceived by the fact that he operates out of his house — he’s very professional and a true craftsman at his trade. He was very responsive, and he went the extra mile in helping to design letter-​press invitations, programs, thank you cards, etc. exactly as we envisioned. The quality and attention to detail was fantastic, as was Matt’s timeliness and flexibility. Frankly, if you’ve secretly dreamed about quitting your job and operating a specialty service out of your basement, Matt is the poster-​boy for how it should be done.

MK Printing is incredible to work with!!! I had researched SEVERAL letterpress printers for my wedding, and came across Matt’s site. His website does not do his quality of work justice. The process was so easy, and he was incredibly accommodating, even incorporating some Farsi text. He let me easily customize the design to be exactly what I envisioned. I picked up my invitations today (my choice to pick them up, he will ship anywhere), and I almost cried I was sooooo happy with the way they turned out.
The best thing yet is that my friend who’s getting married and using Dauphine Press for her invitations paid SEVERAL times the amount I did, and mine are absolutely as beautiful as hers!
You should definitely call Matt for any invitation needs.
