Owners previously owned two café’s in Toronto, Canada. Opened Matto Matto in August 2013.
Meet the Business Owner
Alessandro S.
Business Owner
Alessandro and his parents are from Rome, Italy. They have been in the food business for over 40 years. Alessandro’s mother, Simonetta, is a pastry chef and is famous for her pizza dough and tiramisu recipes. His father is a retired politician from Italy, a former congressman and, in his most recent position, the Director of Agriculture for the State of Lazio. He brings an extensive knowledge of Italian wine. Alessandro’s wife, Alana, is from Canada and has a background in fundraising, marketing, and graphic design.
