Lido Beach Resort

We have stayed at many of the great hotels in Sarasota. This has been the absolute worst. 350 a night for a room that is comparable to a Motel 6. All sorts of hidden fees, no room cleaning for 2 days. A small adjustment in our bill. Literally, the worst hotel stay for a weekend getaway.

Plain and simple– one property with 2 very different buildings. The tower is new with nice rooms. THE OTHER, THE LOW RISE IS DATED, FILTHY, IN DISREPAIR, COMMON AREAS ARE HORRIBLE AND DIRTY. So you need to know if you are in the old portion or the new, if your price point is in the old, strongly consider some where else.

Disappointed to see empty cups on the floor of our room when we checked in, and a broken coffee maker. Only redeeming quality was the close proximity to the beach, but the service has been really disappointing :(

Worst hotel on earth… 300 dollars and you will be treated like crap. The sheets are really right and so are the employees. Thanks Lido Beach Resort for ruining my vacation.

customer relations manager. She has outstanding customer skills with a personality that is so hard to find. The resort is very lucky to have her represent them.
We already booked a long weekend in December with Susan. We will let all our
Illinois and Mass. friends know
about the resort and yes Susan too.

Checked in for a long weekend. The room was gross! Went to the front desk and decided to check out 1 hour later. Headed to Longboat and found a much nicer place. Pure neglect of the property and rooms. My daughter said if we stayed she was going to sleep in a plastic bag

We ALMOST didn’t stay here after reading some of the negative reviews, I’m glad we decided to check it out for ourselves.
There are two buildings here, one is a four story which is older and needs some renovating however the room we looked at was clean and in good order. We chose the 14 story tower which is the newer of the two and most of it is newly remodeled and soon to be completely remodeled. Our room is a one bedroom with king size bed and a pullout bed in one of the couches. Two beautiful bathrooms, fully equipped lichen with small range and dishwasher, plates, utensils, glasses, etc. two swimming pools, table tennis, clean clear beach, white powder sand, beautiful beach views and nearby shopping at Saint Armand’s Circle makes this place an ideal getaway. Tucker who is part of the front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Maintenance staff was immediately responsive when a curtain blind broke. I can’t say enough about this place. We had stayed here before and we will be back again soon.

Getting a bit rough around the edges. They put us in a room where every tile in the bathroom was cracked with mold growing between the cracks. Toilet ran all night. They moved us to another room that was fine but none of the plugs in the kitchen worked. Time for some serious renovations or at least a good handy man. Beach is tops so who stays in the room anyway.

We stay at lido beach resort every visit to the Sarasota area. I haven’t been able to find another resort on the beach that can compare. They have a free shuttle St. Armand’s circle and a great pool. The only thing I would change is I would keep access to the beach and pool open until midnight instead of 10. Room service is great and so is the tiki hut. Next visit I am definitely having dinner in the tower restaurant at sunset. I heard it’s amazing!

WOW! Over the past several years my wife, I and our 5 lb Yorkie stayed here, twice a year at about $ 3000 per visit. Radical change to the cost of a pet staying at the facility! It used to be $ 100 for the entire week! Now $ 100 for the first three nights and $ 25 every night thereafter! Unbelievable! I LOVE the place! But it doesn’t love the pup! Five stars for the OLD, run down Lido Beach Resort. One star for the new, renovated, ‘pet friendly at a high cost’ Lido Beach Resort! The response I sense I’ll get back from management is ‘but we’ve renovated and every thing is new!’ Yes, you renovated but only because your facility was so run down people were giving you horrible ratings for cleanliness, odors, poor housekeeping!

Stayed in mid rise section of hotel (not tower) rooms were very dated. I think the tower rooms are updated and the amenities were nice (pools, hot tub, décor, etc.) the bed in our room was comfy but it was overshadowed by the gross tiolet that had urine stains on back of tiolet, had housekeeping come back and re clean it but I was still grossed out.
The location of hotel is great, the beach is gorgeous, sand is silky soft, water warm and so calm you can freely float around for hours.
St. Armands circle is a must do. Cute and unique items.

This was our third stay at Lido Beach Resort and our first in this building. the resort itself is lovely and inviting. The restaurants are typical hotel fare. However, the one thing I can say about Lido Beach Resort is the staff. The staff was wonderful, helpful and always pleasant. That included the wait staff in the restaurants. Just delightful people. However, the room we booked was not at all up to our expectations. This was a $ 400/​night room that left us cold. The room was dated but with a gorgeous view. (Not $ 400 worth). It was a large room with a small «kitchen» with sink and refrigerator and tiny stove. Nothing we would use except to store water. When we arrived there was a lovely box of Godiva and three large bottles of water waiting for us. Thought that was such a nice gesture until the little card tucked under the candy said, «Welcome to the Lido. There will be a DAILY charge of $ 25.00 for use of the „kitchen“ appliances and the stocked water.» Oh, and I forgot; they left a bag of micro wave popcorn! $ 25.00 on top of the $ 400! Okay, so the room had an amoire that was too small for the room: It housed the tv and did not even reach the wall outlet. Ugly as hell and old. The tv was so small we could not see it from the bed and to make matters worse, you could not even pull the tv out on a track to turn it because it was bolted IN the armoire. It was so stupid and who has a small tv anymore? The room smelled of dog and we found out it was a «pet friendly» hotel. The cheap $ 12.00 alarm clock was BOLTED to the night stand, the sliders were so heavy and old we had difficulty opening them to the balcony. The resort itself was pleasant and the beach made up for the over rated room. However, I must say that the pool area was never kept clean nor was the adult pool. Not one day did I see someone clean the pool. Not once. Beer cans were left in the planters, eaten food around the patio and just trashy. I love Lido Beach and St. Armands Circle but I think we’ll go back to Siesta Key where the rooms are lovely, affordable, on the beach with great views. We were terribly, terribly disappointed.

This review is only for Sunday champagne brunch only.
I’ve been reminiscing about the great Sunday brunch that the Ritz Carlton used to do so I’ve been looking for a replacement.
The selections have a lot of potential, but the execution was poor. There was essentially a carving station, breakfast selections, lunch selections and a dessert bar. My favorites were the mozzarella tomato sticks and the prime rib. The seafood bar was very disappointing — there was a smoked scallop dish and a large shrimp cocktail — both selections were sitting there for a while and did not taste fresh. The desserts were equally appalling and since I have a sweet tooth, this is pretty hard to do which is for me to not like the desserts.
The servers at the carving station were these super sweet girls. Can’t say the same for our server who was pretty lazy. Not once did he offer us orange juice, mimosas or champagne even though they were included in the price of brunch. We had to beckon him to clear our plates. One thing if the place was bustling but it was pretty empty.
Given our experience at brunch, I doubt that we would ever return for any meal here. It was pricey for what it was.

We have stayed here before and it was nice. The room we got on this visit was gross. Fridge wouldn’t stay shut, tile cracked throughout the whole place, carpet nasty and the room was dated. The icing on the cake is that it was my sons wedding night and we requested he be away from us for obvious reasons and ocean view. They put him and his new wife next to us and no ocean view. WOW. AWKWARD. So I go and explain this and told them it was requested. They can’t move him now but the second night they will. Basically did nothing to fix problem with scrubby room or make request right. Bottom line you are paying for a 1 or 2 star hotel at best but the beach is what you are paying for. $ 200 a night not even close to worth it. We won’t be back and very disappointed in the fact the newlyweds had to sleep by mommy and daddy. That’s just weird and it was requested two months in advance. Garbage.

5 all the way around. Great pools/​hot tubs/​tiki bar? Friendly and proficient crew. Great location with shuttles to town? Awesome.

Excellent pool and bar, the pool behind the main bldg is an adult only area and has more comfortable poolside chairs. Be sure to arrive by 10 – 11. They have a shuttle that goes from the resort to the circle so don’t worry about driving after you arrive. The shuttle driver, Efram I think, was always excited to get to take someone in the shuttle. It’s a Mercedes Benz bus, pretty cool. Our server at the beach area was Tiffanie and at the pool it was Dan, both gave GREAT service.
The adult area also has 3 hot tubs. Both swimming pools are heated and a few chairs have umbrellas. They serve food and drinks. The pool par closes at 8pm and has happy hour from 5 – 8, half off drinks and appetizers. Don’t miss the sunset!
We ate at the restaurant on the 8^th floor on Thursday night and it was perfect for view and food. I believe they also honor happy hour at that bar but I’d double check. You’re going to love it! The shuttle will take you pretty much anywhere you need to go, but you won’t want to leave.

Didn’t stay at the hotel but came for the brunch on the 8^th floor. Which was absolutely beautiful. Even though it was a buffet the food was still nice and fresh. It was great for a more upscale brunch for a special occasion. I was quite dressed up, but other people were more casual. Great atmosphere — plan on staying for quite a while and for the meal to be an entire event.

Came for the offshore racing, so it was really busy and really expensive. The rooms are dated and overall crappy. Staying here 2 days made my back hurt, and I sleep on hotel bed about 35% of my life, hence that’s saying something. The bar service is horrible, it takes forever to get drinks all the time. Overall this was a good location, nice beach, but horrible service.
Oh yeah they run out of towels, chairs, etc every day. Get extra everything since they will likely not have anything later in the day or even the next day. It’s always a 15 minute wait, but even 4 hours later it’s a 15 minute wait.

I was hesitant to book because I didn’t know the area but very glad I did. The resort is in need of a remodel but it is very clean, nice staff, great shower with no curtain which is a plus. Beds are comfy and cold ac. Beautiful view of the gulf. What more can you ask for
Shuttle takes you to Armand’s circle which is an added bonus. Jacqueline is a pleasure when you call the resort. Actually all of the staff are great.
Would come again looking forward to the remodel.
