History

Established in 1950.

Gulf Beach Resort Motel is one of the first original hotels built on Lido Beach. It received it’s historic designation in May of 2013 and the Gulf Beach Motel Historic District was created. The concept of a «motel» was established post World War II and the intention was to offer clean rooms, parking next to the room and convenient or well-​located affordable lodging for families on vacation. Today, the units are owned by individuals as part of a condominium association and managed by a property manager as a hotel/​motel. Each unit is unique in it’s decorating and style and most have fully equipped kitchens. Gulf Beach Motel strives to maintain the character and flavor that has been associated with the nostalgic slower and less intrusive way of life and leisure. We will continue to offer affordable rates, comfortable accommodations, and a little piece of history on Lido Beach in Sarasota, Florida.

I have been the manager at Gulf Beach Resort since November of 2010. We have seen a large growth in tourism over the last 2 years. Our goal is to make each guest’s stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
