DRW Transmission and Auto Care

My Corvette with manual transmission had a slight fluid leak for several years. The dealer finally fixed the leak from the front of the transmission after two attempts. The last time was Oct 2014. Every time the dealer had it they let it set for a week plus before starting the work even though I had an appointment. They usually had it for 3 weeks or more. Since it set outside in the weather it was always filthy when I picked it up. Several months ago I noticed another leak this time from the rear of the transmission. I made an appointment to take it to the dealer Monday Feb 15^th. In the mean time I heard about DRW and after talking to Wayne I made an appointment for the 17^th and cancelled my 15^th appointment with the dealer. I dropped my Corvette off at 8AM on the 17^th. Around 2PM Wayne called and said they found where the leak was coming from
and had the approval from my warranty company to make the repairs. Wayne said he would try to finish it by Friday the 19^th but by Monday the 22^nd for sure. I received a call around noon on the 19^th that it was ready to be picked up. In addition to the transmission repair I had them change the oil, filter, etc. Wayne said it would be inside the whole time he had it and when I picked it up it was spotless. My Corvette will never see the dealer again because from now on I will be taking it to DRW.
If I hadn’t heard about DRW it would probably still be setting on the dealers lot waiting for them to start the work

I was looking for a very special type of work for my Buick Grand National. I learned of DRW through the performance Buick community, but I couldn’t find anyone who had personal experience with Don or Wayne. I also couldn’t find any negative talk either. I have no hesitation of them continuing to service my car and would highly recommend DRW to family and friends. They are honest, professional and easy to deal with.

If you’re looking for a professional place where your car can be maintained or repaired then this is the place! Brought my 84 grand national to get worked on and other shops were estimating prices over $ 7000 and Wayne shared his knowledge and had my GN running better than ever without even paying close to half of other shops’ estimates! Glad to say I’ll be a returning customer!

Great knowledgeable place for all your auto repair needs. I had a transmission rebuilt and the guys did an awesome job and have a great warrantee with it! As a woman they explained things very clear and did not rip me off. The quote he have to get the repairs done originally was a little less than the actual price and he discounted it to what he quoted! They stay true to their pricing and do a great job! I have referred multiple people to Wayne and they have all been extremely pleased!

The garbage stock clutch in my 2007 GT500 went out after 18,000 miles. DRW replaced it with a twin plate racing clutch. They did it for less than Ford would have charged to give me another flawed clutch. Great, fast work and very knowledgeable.

I’m a business owner and the transmission on my service truck decided to call in sick in the middle of the week. The only transmission shop I was familiar with was just too far away. I was understandably a little hesitant taking my truck here not knowing the business personally and needing my truck NOW. I was quickly put at ease with the professionalism and confidence the technician had, which by the way was the one who mentioned it being a service vehicle and told me he would expedite the rebuild. Three days later the transmission was completely rebuilt and I was on the road again.

My son has been taking his car here for years and FINALLY got mom to listen to him when I received a quote for a new water pump elsewhere that was almost twice as much! I dropped off my car and grabbed a rental to cover me while my car was there… turns out I could have skipped the rental because Wayne had my car ready the same day! Fair pricing, excellent service and HONEST! I will never go anywhere else again…

DRW was recommended to me and I can see why. I took my Ford Ranger to have some slippage in the transmission check out. They took my truck in the next day and by 2pm it was fixed. I was thrilled to find out it only needed a filter and fluid change. They also adjusted my parking brake. Excellent and prompt service. Check them out!

This is a small shop with two lifts. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They have done a couple services for me: an oil change service and inspection of a AC/​freon leak. The oil change is pretty hard to screw up. For the AC problem, they couldn’t find anything wrong with it on first inspection so they filled up the freon and away I go with a working AC. A couple weeks later, the freon was empty again so that’s a confirmed leak. They took another look at it for free, so that’s a good move in my book and deserves some credit. I know two other people who will only go here for work. Check it out — give them a shot. The letters on the walls speak well to their abilities.

These guys are honest and very nice. I learned a lot about my car by going here. Wayne was very informative. I had to take the trolley from SDSU to Santee and there was always someone willing to pick me up from the trolley. (I’ve taken my car there twice).
They were very quick and prices were reasonable. Best price on a clutch in town and they are AAA approved as well.
