Specialties

Full service, all-breed, dog grooming salon providing breed specific grooms and custom cuts by a certified groomer. The Bark Side uses canine specific aroma therapy throughout the salon for a calming atmosphere.

History

Established in 2015.

The Bark Side started in July of 2015 as a result of much encouragement and support from family, friends, and colleagues. After years of home grooming and working in a salon as part of a team, I decided to venture out on my own and start The Bark Side to put my Nash Academy training to work.

Heather A.

Business Owner

I am a certified groomer from the Nash Academy of Animal Arts and have been grooming for almost ten years. My experience ranges from grooming for clients in my home, the local animal shelter, to working at a full service salon.

I’ve always been passionate about animals. I completed a two year Veterinary Technician Certification Program at the Santa Rosa Junior College, then spent 1 ½ years as a Veterinary Technician until I decided that I wanted to be involved with animals in a different way. Having already been relied on to groom at the local shelter and providing grooming services for friends and family, I entered the field of professional dog grooming. This eventually led me to Kentucky to train at the prestigious Nash Academy where I received extensive hands on training. On July 1, 2015, I decided to put my training and experience to work and opened up The Bark Side dog grooming salon.
