Steven Wilburn, DMD

After my dentist of many years retired, it took me five years to find Dr. Wilburn. I went from dentist to dentist to dentist and they all told me the same thing. One or two crowns needed replacement. And I said, okay, but it hurts here (which was not one of the crowns they thought should be replaced). Then, after consulting with Dr Wilburn, he said, okay, let’s pull the crown off of the tooth that’s bothering you and see what’s going on. He did and he found an old amalgam filling which he removed and prepped for a new crown. Wow! How simple was that? The pain immediately stopped, I went home and slept for about 24 hours. Ever since I have been pain free and have continued on with Dr. Wilburn. He has since replaced several old crowns over the last couple years so I feel like my teeth are the healthiest they have been in years. Thank you! Highly recommend!

I had terrible tooth pain last week and called my dentist Dr Wilburn for HELP!!! Tooth pain can feel debilitating, as all who have had it know. His staff was incredibly swift in getting me in to be seen almost immediately and Dr Wilburn was extremely compassionate and helpful in diagnosing the problem. I left feeling listened to and most importantly soon was pain free. Thank you Dr Wilburn and staff for being such a caring office of people

My former dentist retired early, probably due to the thousands and thousands of dollars I gave him. He was AMAZING – Dr. Levin. I adored him, his work and sense of humor.
I have been to two dentists since Dr. Levin with Dr. Wilburn being the third. The first two were horrid and wanted to play the «let’s make work for me» game of replacing stuff that did not need replacing. Game over for those two.
Then a friend recommended Dr. Wilburn! Yay. Super wonderful office. Everyone who works there is efficient and nice. Dr. Wilburn has the years of experience you want from a dentist. He does perfect work and gives you options. No pain either. Love
this dentist. Go to him if you want A++++ care.

I have been going to Dr. Wilburn for several years now. My sister-​in-​law is a dental hygienist and highly recommended him. Having been to several other dentists in my lifetime, I would not go to anyone else. I drive a long distance to go to him as he is kind, thoughtful, quick but thorough, competent, and gave me choices as to type of filling. He has also fit me in at the last minute when I have had an emergency. His prices are comparable to other dentists (even a bit lower than elsewhere) and if you pay in cash, he will give you 5% off (as that is what credit card companies charge). He has earned my trust and done a great job with my teeth. A surprise bonus is his rooms overlook a squirrel feeder and you can pass the time watching them eat if you are lucky.

My friends referred me to Dr. Wilburn and have had great service.

When I moved to Santa Rosa in 1995, I called 1 – 800 dentist and they dentist recommended Dr. Steven Wilburn… What a find! I have been going to him ever since and have referred family and friends to him over the years…
His Hygienist, Gail is superior and I cannot say enough about his staff as well.

I went to Dr. Wilburn once when I first moved to Santa Rosa and I’ll never go back. I was just out of college, broke, and wanted to get a cleaning before I was kicked off my parents plan. Wilburn was brisk to the point of rudeness and insisted that I needed 10 expensive fillings. I drove 2 hours to my parents dentist for a second opinion and he said the spots on the x-​ray were weak spots that were not yet cavities and that with proper care might not need to be filled. He also pointed out that Wilburn had given me an estimate for enamel fillings, which are more expensive and don’t last as long as metal fillings. Wilburn hadn’t even given me a choice!

As a family dentist, Dr. Wilburn is as good as it gets.
I began visiting his practice when I first moved here 11 years ago and have had no reason to leave — despite urging from other family and friends to try their «superior, more modern» dental offices.
Dr. Wilburn’s staff is professional and caring and they have a sense of humor. Last year when the lights went out during a torrential rain storm, they instructed other patients to leave and come back the next day when power most likely would be restored. Not me, though.
The sole hygenist in the office was in the middle of cleaning my teeth.
She said to me, «We have enough juice from the generator to finish you up.» So I agreed to stay. With Dr. Wilburn’s dental assistant holding a bright flashlight over my face, the hygenist continued to clean my teeth. Dr. Wilburn cheered them on, and we all had a great laugh after they were done with me.
Today, for the 2^nd, maybe 3^rd time, maybe even 4^th time, I chipped my front tooth when I absentmindedly chomped down on my thumbnail to rid myself of a hang-​nail. Dr. Wilburn had tried unsuccessfully before to use resin to repair the damage, and when the insurance company last year finally approved a veneer filling, he told me it would last a minimum of 5 years. Well, not so.
With this new, deep chip, my tooth felt especially jaggedly and it throbbed. I called his office and left a message on the emergency voice-​mail number explaining that it wasn’t a life-​threatening issue yet
it was uncomfortable and sharp against my tongue and especially untimely in the middle of the Christmas season with holiday parties when I needed to smile.
Today is Saturday, mind you, and I thought his office would call me back on Monday. Yet to my rescue and delight, Dr. Wilburn called me back within 3 hours and asked if I could meet him at his office ASAP.
In a period of 30 minutes, he temporarily repaired my tooth, told me to expect a call from his staff Monday after they’d contacted my insurance to see if another veneer (or better yet, a crown) might be authorized, and sent me out of the office with a smile I can temporarily be proud of.
If that isn’t dedication to patient service, then what is?
