Sinister Performance

Seems all good things come to an end! After my previous review, I was still having issues with a check engine light which I was told would go away. I drove on several occasions from the East Bay and left my car at the shop to fix the issue. That dam light, it always came back with same trouble code reading. I was given every excuse known. But I trusted Sinister Performance and excuses given which showed to be a mistake.
Then my smog came up again for my registration. After six months of leaving my vehicle at the shop, I was still stuck with a check engine light and no smog. I was promised the car was smogged but with no record to prove it. It came to a breaking point!
Finally taking my car back and having the help of a smog shop, muffler shop, and the builder on my engine. It came to the conclusion that I had number of issues ranging from gaskets used, type of converters used, and even spacers on my O2 sensors. The tune to my vehicle was totally rigged up and embarrassing.
Now I’m paying $ 3400 on parts and labor just to start to get it right. You put trust in a mechanic and they just do you wrong. The owner Ian had enough nerve to call my to apologize saying he would make it all right. I haven’t heard from him since! BEWARE OF SINISTER PERFORMANCE. don’t let this happen to you!

I towed my 2006 Dodge Charger to SP to have a new engine assembly done. If I knew it would take 8 months to have it done I would have gone else where. They had good reviews and my car was right up his alley. Once I FINALLY got it back I had an oil leak missing engine covers and oil dip stick broken off. Which he said would all be mailed to me NOPE!!! So after taking car to local auto shop he confirmed oil leak so I had it towed back up to SP where I was told I had a bad power steering rack so I had that replaced and the oil dip stick part. That was to only take 3 days but 2weeks later I finally get car back to no engine covers again and still an oil leak and a steering wheel that was on sideways. I had to go to local automotive place again to have steering wheel fixed and he confirmed I still had oil leak. My engine covers where mailed to me in a timely fashion. But I had to pay for steering wheel to be fixed and was not reimbursed like I was told I would be. Local automotive place did a further work up on oil leak and discovered its most likely a bad gasket or warped head. I contacted SP on the findings and he wanted car back but at this time we where out of time and money to keep putting into car. We where not confident in this company to fix my car a 3^rd time and I was never reimbursed the money I was told over the phone I would be. Be very careful of this company I don’t recommend it at all!!!

First Unilocal review so please bear with me!
First off, I own a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi 4×4.
A short while ago a 2.5 OME HD lift was I installed and thus some problems started to occur, I myself am no mechanic whatsoever; therefore, you must for give me.
So the lift kit resulted in banging, clanging and god knows what else.
Prior to Sinister Performance two shops have looked at the jeep. One says «owe we can’t find anything» while the second said ‘Drive it till it Breaks“

Ian is great. He stands by his word and does what he says he is going to do for the price he quotes — it is sad that this is a rare quality, but in the performance auto world it is. I cannot recommend this shop enough. I will be back for more work.
Ian and the guys did a stage 1 upgrade on my 2011 300c, KW coil overs, exhaust and air filter. He even put on a new grill I had already bought and did it for FREE!!! Who does that? Ian does and he deserves a high recommendation for doing so.
This place is customer service oriented, does great work on time and therefore earns my FIVE star review! All of his 5 star reviews are no fluke, this guy is legit.

Sinister Performance is the only shop I will take my families cars. He is upfront and tells you what to expect and if something isn’t right he will do whatever it takes to get it fixed right. His knowledge and customer service are second to none. Definitely worth the drive every time! Bring your car here!

Ians the man only guy i would even think about letting work on or touch my wifes car. Ive also had him get me out of a few binds while visiting SR area even though I had an Audi… Ive know the guy for years he knows what hes doing honest and NO BS. If he says the car will be done @ x time its done
