Established in 1995.

Scott Larson started his Computer Support career in in 1992 at little computer shop «Computers For Everyone «in Santa Rosa, Republic of California. He spent his five years there working with the public, fixing computer problems ranging from hardware failures to software bugs and operating system glitches. He also spent three years at Sonic​.com, A DVD software authoring company. Scott Larson acted as system administrator for Sonic Solutions maintaining web services and single user support. Finally he spent sometime just recently at Sonic​.net, an Internet Service provider. As a technical contact, he provided customer support on a wide range of computer problems for over three years to the customers of Sonic​.net. Scott Larson has been developing his consulting business as a side job until just recently. As of 2007 he handles computer support related issues and maintains web sites as a full time gig.

When Scott Larson is not helping people with computer problems, or maintaining web sites, he spends his time studying various aspects of personal growth and spirituality. Some of the books he reads involves metaphysics, philosophy, and dream psychology such as «The Power of Now», By Eckhart Tolle. «The Four Agreements», By Don Miguel Ruiz. «King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine», by Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette. He currently maintains a web site about his personal and political views at www. in​-trin​sic​.net. He also is involved in taking various classes at the Santa Rosa Junior College involving Modern Dance, Acting and Jewelry Making. His ultimate vision is to write and direct films that express the human condition. While having opportunities to travel around the world with the desire to experience other cultures not his own. Scott Larson maintains a online photo gallery where he stores some of his metal work and travel experiences.

Scott and his wife/​assistant Pauline came to our home and were able to ferret out the solutions to several IT problems we were having with our home theater system. My wife and I are grateful for their prompt (same day) and knowledgable response to our needs.

Scott did an excellent job repairing my notebook computer after I couldn’t start Windows due to a failed hard disk. He backed up my data to my external hard disk so I didn’t lose any of it, at least none that I’m aware of. I was very worried because my wife and I depend so much on the computer. I carelessly didn’t perform backups for the last several weeks before the HD failure.
Scott then ordered a new hard disk for me that so far has performed very well. He copied my data from my external HD to the new internal HD. He reinstalled Windows. Most of my file system and data were organized the way it was before, but I only spent a few hours reorganizing the rest. He recommended a superb backup program that I’m using on a trial basis, and that I plan to purchase. He answered my questions after the repair was completed. My system works as well or better than it did before the hard disk failure. Much to my relief, the entire recovery operation, with my time included, took within a week.
The one area in which Scott’s service was less than exemplary was in the documentation and notification he provided. For example, details about scheduled shipping and delivery times for the HD weren’t given when I needed them. I wasn’t given a copy of the invoice for the new HD, since Scott purchased it and resold it to me. However, Scott more than made up for these oversights with the warranty he offered on the new HD.
Scott is expert with computer technology, and very helpful and friendly. His sidekick /​assistant Pauline was also helpful and friendly. In any kind of technical crisis, I wouldn’t want anyone other than Scott on my side. He had my wife and me covered in a big way. I’ll seek his help again with a complicated computer project. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention — his prices are very reasonable too.

I called Larson and explained my IP camera issues and he indicated he does that kind of work. My camera worked great, one of those $ 200.00 one’s, for a long time and then it malfunctioned so I called him and agreed to come and have a look.
After a $ 250. analysis of my system the extent of which is a desk top computer a router and the camera, he said he needed to do that 1st. After discussing what I wanted he left to email a quote later on (a day or so, which was fine) with quote in hand $ 1000.00. Wow!!! I said I’ll think it over.
In between I’d recommended him to my brother to install a system that didn’t seam to please him when finished (apparently Larson wanted more $$ after submitting the original quote & the cable ran in the middle of the wall vs up the door frame and over)
I know zero about this stuff but decided to look into it myself and wala! found out my camera was bad so I replaced it and took the time to read the instructions and installed it myself for a total cost of $ 170.00.
Hummmm! What’s wrong with this picture? I feel I was duped on the $ 250.00 and about to be scammed on the $ 1000. BTY Larson is very polite, professional, and knowledgeable in some areas but IP camera’s and diagnosis of them & cost to install systems needs lots of work. Shop around!

You can’t go wrong with Scott. He has been working on my computers since 2007 and is honest, reasonable, and considerate.
And in 2009, he built a custom computer for me with specs that he recommended. It is still going strong with no upgrades and has a superb case that allows for expansion and upgrading. I will never buy an off-​the-​shelf desktop computer again and all upgrades will be done by Scott

Scott is awesome, friendly, helpful and honest. When my laptop monitor stopped showing any sort of picture, I took it to him and he gave me an inexpensive diagnostic. It was completed with complete professionalism.
In the end, I wound up deciding to get a new computer — and enjoyed a nice chat with Scott about my needs and options.
Hopefully it will never need repair, but if it does, I’ll go right back to Scott.

So I have a laptop that takes longer than it used to, to boot up, the internal speakers no longer work and I have to use an external CD drive as the internal one died on me. My main concern was speeding it up, I am not a techie but do know that there can be many reasons why your PC/​Laptop can slow down. I read the reviews on Scott and figured I would reach out to him for his recommendation. His website has a lot of info, I found it a bit busy but ok. I found a page to fill out to have him contact me, I did appreciate that one of the contact options is via text, pretty cool. I provided a description of my issues and awaited his contact. The next day I received a text that basically said, his recommendation was that I buy a new laptop, he provided a link to his website with instruction to read an article and that he could make a recommendation as to buying a new laptop. His text was polite and professional but I was a bit put off by it. We texted back and forth a few times and turns out the link he sent is to his policy on «out of life cycle» basically he is stating that if your computer is 4 years old or older he does not want to work on it, for varies reasons. I get it, it is easier to work on newer computers as they would have less issues but come on’ my laptop is no dinosaur and he does have a link on his website about «system tune ups» and how in many cases a tune up is all you need instead of buying a new computer.
My expectation was that he would have at least wanted to physically looked at my laptop prior to kicking me to the curb. It is his business and he can run it anyway he wants and our texts were polite and professional. I just have an issue with advertising about system tune-​ups with no strong mention of his policy against working on 4 year and older computers and for the record my laptop is 3.5 yrs old. Anyway if you have computer issues Scott may be your guy, BUT not if you have an older one.

I went to Scott to have him try to recovery some photos that were accidentally deleted recently. I dropped off my hard drive and usb drive and he told me that he would look through the data to see if he could recover any of my pictures. He was able to find some photos but not the ones I needed which didn’t surprise me too much since I used the drive after deleting the files. He didn’t charge me anything! I would have been happy to pay Scott for the work he did; after all, it did take up some of his time. It’s refreshing to meet a fellow honest business owner!

Scott is a very honest, and forthright independent computer repair man. I found him here on Unilocal,and contacted him, and left a message regarding a hardware problem I was facing on my cheap little HP notebook. Scott was prompt to get back to me. Unfortunately for me, I had let Scott know what I thought was the problem (a loose charging port) Scott said okay… give me the model number of the notebook, and I had to call him back with it. We played phone tag a bit, and he was always very prompt to get back to me. He researched to see if the procedure was even possible to replace the charging port on my computer, and if the part was available. Dealing with Scott was very easy. I never did have to bring my computer to him, as I misdiagnosed my own computer. And had Scott order the wrong part. I am still going to keep the part on hand in case it ever does go bad.
Moral of the story is Scott is a good guy to deal with, and I would go back to him again. Only next time, I will leave the troubleshooting up to him!

We bought a new computer at Best Buys and then took our old hard drive to their tech department, the Geek Squad, where I was told that the data was corrupted and could not be recovered. We were very upset, as it contained, among other things, our wedding pictures. I’m glad I didn’t take that as the final answer. Scott recovered 100% of the data on the file, turned the job around quickly, and charged a very reasonable price. He is also very friendly and personable and responds immediately to calls and emails. I would highly recommend Scott and will definitely use him again for other computer problems.

Scott did a great job fixing my laptop. Before I brought it in he let me know what the costs and timelines might be. He ran his hardware diagnostics on the laptop and it turned out to be a minor problem. Because it turned out to be a quick fix, he did not charge me extra to fix it; his only charge was for the diagnostic test. I had my fixed laptop back only 24 hours after I dropped it off. Scott was also willing to share his knowledge about how to prevent future problems and suggestions for buying a new laptop (which brands are better than the others). His technical and communication skills impressed me. I will definitely use his services again.

Scott makes consultants look good. He has a very professional approach to business and communicates clearly.
I recently asked for his assistance in recovering data from two different devices. Both jobs had their own unique technical challenges. Scott clearly identified the circumstances where he could provide service and at what point, I might have to consider a more expensive solution.
I was very happy when Scott called (as promised) to advise me of the status of the restore (he was almost done). I have had a chance to review the work and I am very satisfied. The bill was reasonable and fair.

I emailed Scott because my netbook wasn’t getting power. He emailed me back right away to ask me questions so he could better understand my situation. Once I gave the details, he emailed back to say that this seemed like a fairly common problem with my brand of netbook and that it was too small for him to be able to open up and work on; also, that a new motherboard would be hard to find and expensive… the repairs, if possible, would cost more than a new computer.
I can’t say how much I appreciate Scott’s assistance, for which I never paid any money. More than that, his integrity in being of service while not charging me for something he knew was impossible, is rare.
Scott did not repair my netbook, but he proved himself to be professional and trustworthy. I’ll call him for my future computer repair needs.

Scott is my go-​to-​guy for any technical computer issues. He has helped me with everything from networking, to installing new hardware, to recovering data from a failed hard drive. He completely restored my entire library of songs, videos, etc for a very reasonable price.
I refuse to take my computer into Best Buy or some other store because I have no idea who is working on it. Scott is very professional, honest, and communicative and I have the fullest confidence in his technical ability. Plus he’s a real nice guy.
Don’t fool around with trying to fix your own computer when you can take it to a pro like Scott.

I found Scott on Unilocal after a week that sounds like the one the previous reviewer had (I got in a hit & run accident — my car was totaled, and then the next day dropped my laptop and it broke). Best Buy told me it would cost about $ 400 to ship my laptop out to be looked at and opened up… with no guarantee that it would be even fixed. My tiny little off-​brand laptop is barely worth that much! So when Scott returned my email saying he’d be willing to help, I took my baby to him.
His fees were extremely reasonable, and he did what most others would not do: opened up a laptop, found shattered parts, ordered the new part needed, and took a soldering iron to it. Many computer techs just won’t do it — too risky. But he’s a pro.
Here I am, two weeks later, with a laptop that works like new. With all of my beloved files intact (Ill be backing those up soon!)
In addition, Scott is friendly and easy to talk to. Very professional to do business with, but also down to earth and not intimidating.
If I *ever* have a computer issue in the future, I will definitely be contacting Scott.

My trusty desktop computer crashed about a week ago… At the time I thought my life was over, and there was no way to get over this tragedy. (of course you have to consider that my car was sideswiped the same day, so my emotions were at a bit of a low)
I found Scott on Unilocal and called and emailed him on a sunday morning to see what he could offer in the way of a «second coming» for my trusty computer. The first surprise was that he actually called me on that sunday to see how he could help. When I got past the shock, of actual «customer service», we agreed I would bring my computer to him the next day. Long story short, I told him I was on a budget and there was only so much money I could spend… After he got into it, he determined that for the price I would have to pay him to fix it I could buy a new computer, Another shocker HONESTY… I so appreciate him not taking advantage of me and milking me for every dollar that I had… It was refreshing to deal with someone who has integrity and morality…
I highly recommend Scott as a competant, fair and reliable person to deal with. I am learning to love my laptop again, until I purchase a new desktop, so no worries, I will still be Unilocaling…
