I went to Rosso years ago and this was a impromptu revisit. We were walk ins on a Friday night. We only had to wait about five mins for a table. Service and friendliness excellent. We had burrata and prosciutto app, a arugula salad and bucatini and meatballs. Not in the mood for pizza but they looked great. This place hasn’t changed in over the past 5 – 7 years since my last visit. Food and philosophy Extremely good. They won’t serve anything that they don’t make on premises . For a neighborhood pizzeria excellent. Good job Rosso owner and crew.

really great pizza with interesting topics and flavors. nice wine menu and great service. they are willing to do half/half on your pizza so you can try two signature pizzas. outdoor seating is a little awkward since they are right on a parking lot, but we sat outside nonetheless. it was slightly pricey for pizza, but it’s not an everyday pizza place. I would go back again.

The place was hopping! Popular place, and the service/sales(for wine) while we waited for our table was very attentive. However… we came for the Gluten Free Pizza which was the biggest disappointment ever! Don’t get it, the very thin crust could not even be cut with a knife and fork. Even after a salad and pizza, we were still hungry. I usually never get dessert, but needed one after this dinner. Amazing, no desserts, only espresso. After a Unilocal search for gluten free, we were happy to find this place, only to be disappointed. I give it 3 stars though because by the looks of the restaurant, they must be doing something right with their traditional pastas and pizzas.

The only reason I did not give this 5(yet) is because I’ve been here 1 time. Friday afternoon great atmosphere friendly staff who picked the perfect wine for me after I described what I was in the mood for. I ordered the short rib with polenta and it was truely perfection. The rib was cooked perfect and the creamy polenta was the absolute best addition to this masterpiece. Right amount of food for a great price. I will be back for sure.

Pizza was good, not great. Came out super fast. What I thought made this place different from other pizza places is that they gave my son a piece of dough to flatten and they cooked it for him after. Just wish they had a better selection on there kids menu.

Last night we did take-out for the first time — ordered the funghi and lemon oil pizza(sooooo good!), the meatballs and the large Caesar salad. I just love the vibe at the Santa Rosa location — the staff are super friendly and there are always locals sitting at the bar watching sports and drinking Italian beers. I have been consistently happy with all my pizza orders. For take-out though, we were a little disappointed in the portions provided. The pizza was fine — I am sure they have a standard size — but the meatballs were really tiny for $ 8.50. Three bites a piece, tops. And the salad, for $ 12, was not worth it. Our order totaled $ 45, which I thought was really high for what we got. I don’t think I’ll order take out again — I never had an issue with portion size when I am dining in. Other than that, this place rocks.

Well, I’m not sure what I was missing here because I feel the 4 stars out of 513 ratings is a little high. Maybe it was just my experience? For starters, I tried to go one night for dinner(a Tuesday) and it was packed with a wait time quoted of 45 mins… had to get back to work so couldn’t wait that long. I did really want to try it so went back on Thursday for lunch. It was much less busy. Being that it is a pizzeria, obviously I wanted to order a pizza. My coworker and I decided on the burrata trio and a salumi pizza. Our waitress here wasn’t that great and we a assumed the burrata would come with bread or something, but it didn’t. It arrived with our pizza and we ended up having to order garlic bread to go with(more on that in a minute). The pizza was good. Great? No. Just good. One pie yielded 4 slices and we split it. We were both still hungry, yet still had our burrata to eat. As I mentioned, it didn’t come with any bread and I like to eat it with something. We ordered their version of garlic bread which is a pizza crust. It’s nothing overly special and it’s made when you order it, so we had to wait a bit for it.(Not the I don’t love fresh made things, just wish we would’ve known before because we were running right on time). The burrata app came with a few different types and they weren’t that different in taste, though the one with the lemon zest was pretty good. I wouldn’t add this to my list of places to go back to in the area, but it wasn’t horrible.

Food is always delicious! If you are looking for fresh authentic Italian food this place is great! Super easy/fast lunch pick up. I wasn’t sure what I wanted and they were so helpful. I also accidentally put my order in at the Petaluma location and when I came to pick up in Santa Rosa they quickly got my order together and even called the other location for me to cancel the order :) I was very impressed by how professional they were and didn’t make a fuss about my mistake!!!

I came here 2x in the past month. I was going to go somewhere else but that place closed and it was already late for lunch so i randomly came in. I ordered the pollo de cindy and there were liteterally a few small bits of chicken in it! There was a fair amt of greens, but where is the meat? you’re not feeding a kindergartener, this is an adult meal! But i left so hungry i had to order some more food elsewhere. Epic failure. I did not take note of this restaurant’s name and met a friend there recently. Yikes. The same place! ok, so maybe the 1st time was a bad day for them. So i ordered another salad this time and«added» crabmeat. The crabmeat was just as much of a joke. So here, i’m supposed to have chicken AND crabmeat right. But same thing, small bits. I think if they meant it to be teeny bits, it tought to be classified in the ‘appetiziers’ category. This was even worst than the 1st time, since i had to paid EXTRA for crabmeat. I“m not sure if the pizza is the thing to get here. but what an epic failure. I can get a crab sandwich at some nice local places in sf and get a quarter lb of crabmeat… it’s pretty deceptive advertising. I have eaten in other places in Santa Rosa. Such as Flavor Bistro and i had a salad with chhicken and the chicken was a decnet sized slab, at least .25 or .33 lb and and the price was abit lower and i actually didnt’ have to eat AGAIN after eatingn the chicken salad!

My wife ate here with some friends this week and was so impressed she suggested we eat here for a birthday dinner last night. Food made with care, with excellent ingredients. I’m a bit of a pizza snob, and I rarely try new places, but Rosso’s didn’t disappoint. Pizza was fantastic, pasta was killer, salads were delicious, service was on point. It’ll take multiple visits to figure out our favorites. Everything we ordered was shared among our table, and we are looking forward to exploring the menu more. We are still talking about it this morning, and we are thinking about heading there for lunch. For a locavore kind of place, I’d like to see some more, better selected local beers on tap. I realize it’s a wine bar, but we have SOMUCH good beer here; the selections could have been better. Bottled beer selection looked pretty good. Regardless, we’ll be back.

Ate again Feb 2016. This is after the exit of master chef John Franchetti. Rosso loses my endorsement. Why? Ate dinner with 4 family members. Ordered appetizers, pizzas, piadini. Food was lackluster. And the pizza crusts and my piadini bread was rubbery. I mean really rubbery. Difficult to chew and just about gag worthy to swallow. Prices remain sky high for the mediocre quality of the food. Seriously, $ 10 for a pan roasted half an artichoke? We spent over $ 200 before tax & tip for an unsatisfying meal. Never return for me.

My three coworkers and I came here for dinner because we heard this was one of the top rated places in the area. We were greeted at the door by a nice gentleman that looked a lot like Stephen Amell, then seated within 10 minutes. I knew I wanted a meaty pizza so I asked the waitress what she recommended. She said the salumi, which consists of rosemary, cured meats, house made mozzarella, pepperonata, parsley, and EVOO. I asked, «is this one of the meatiest pizzas you have?» She nodded her head and said yes. So ok cool, I ordered it. When it came out I had two reactions. 1) Wow that’s gorgeous 2) Wow that’s extremely thin. I thought to myself that it was a pretty expensive pizza for the quantity provided… but then figured they must have some extremely tasty local ingredients. I ate my first slice slowly and methodically. Did it taste fresh? Yes. Was it greasy? No. Did I get a sense of authenticity? Yes. Was it meaty??? No. I was kind of crying on the inside cause the carnivore in me was craving for more. The pizza was delicious, but I felt like it was a warm-up and the game didn’t even begin. Now if I was a baller I would’ve ordered another pizza but I don’t think I can get myself to spend $ 30+ on a single meal. All in all it’s a good spot. I feel its slightly overrated but hey, it might float your boat.

This place definitely earns its stars for its service most of all. If I could give 3 ½ stars, I would, but I’ll round up. It’s hard to find… located in a strip mall with little lighting and no sign that faces the main street(at least that I could see). But, we were greeted as soon as we walked in and got a table within ten minutes(it was a Tuesday though). The server was nothing but very helpful and nice. I ordered the Funghi di Limone pizza. I added Prosciutto at the server’s suggestion(no extra charge… yaay!). It was very very good and I ate all of it, but my favorite pizza is still elsewhere. Beer selection was lacking but there were a lot of great wines on the menu. It was cool, but I’ve heard from multiple people that the Petaluma location is better, so I will try that next time.

I have been to Rosso a number of times and have enjoyed the experience however my last meal there was not up to their normal standards. I also have had their pizzas numerous times at events and have greatly enjoyed them. I am going to give them a pass on my last visit(off night?) because of consistently good meals previously. Their piadinas are really good!

Yum yum yum!!! I loved this place. I came in with my husband after a long day of driving up from Los Angeles. We were hungry and I didn’t particularly feel like pizza, but our local friend recommended Rosso’s and I was enticed enough by the wine :) Glad we came. Service was excellent, friendly and fast. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and were given our choice of seating. We had a friendly waiter who did just the right amount of waiting. The food was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. I’m a vegan so I ordered the portobello vegan pizza and it was divine. Generous strips of marinated portobello and a heaping pile of dressed arugula. I let my husband try a little piece(he loved it) but I ate the entire thing right there. It was that good, and so fresh. My husband enjoyed his pizza too — I can’t remember which one he ordered. The wine pairing we had with is was perfect. Atmo was great. A big open space with some sports playing on in the background. Very clean. Bathrooms were nice and clean too. Overall a big recommendation from me for this place. I will come back again next time I’m in town.

I love the food at Rosso. The margherita pizzas and funghi pizzas are incredible. So is the piadine, which is what happens when a pizza and a salad have a baby… a really big baby. The burrata trio has always been our go-to starter, but I’m seriously in love with the romano beans and frying peppers lately. Last time we tried it with burrata on top, but I think I just prefer the beans and peppers without the cheese. I’m a simple guy, but these flavors are anything but! The service here has always been good. They bring out dough for the kid to muck about with while we are waiting for our starters, and then they bake it so the kid has a little pizza dough and marinara of her own. Very cool idea!

Had an occasion to grab some dinner in Santa Rosa and found this gem thanks to Unilocal. Started with the piccolo and the house made burrata. Both wonderful. Meats were spicy, salty and sweet. The cheeses were creamy and tangy. The pizzetta bread was both crispy and tender, don’t ask me how they pulled that off. We then had the Margherita pizza. Creamy cheese tangy sauce and crispy, yeasty crust. It was very light and plenty for two following the appetizers. Josh our waiter was very friendly, informative and helpful and quick to serve. I realize that this is a wine bar as well, but as a heathen I had beer. Will have to come back for a sampling. Finished the meal with an strong cappuccino with lots of sugar… yum! Overall great meal at a very affordable price point. The place was quite busy, so come early. Do yourself a favor and stop by some evening.

This wonderful local restaurant uses fresh, local meat and produce from Sonoma County. And frequent the farmer’s markets. The food is delicious and consistent. Super pet friendly location. Clean bathrooms. Great atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff. They also offer cooking demos you can sign up for(and serve you complimentary wine) Today I ordered the fried chicken. «And it said, Best Fried Chicken… EVER» And you know what??? It seriously was the best darn Fried Chicken I’ve EVER had in my life! On the real!!!

They have the best caeser salad in town and I really like the caeser piadini with chicken. The atmosphere is business casual and wait staff is friendly and attentive. Their pizzas are delicious, cooked in a open air brick oven. Fresh, local, sustainable ingredients along with seasonal pizzas make up the heart of the menu. The margarita pizza is a must try, so is their fried chicken.
