Dr. Fortman’s doctorate and post doctorate education was very clinically focused which gave him a wealth of knowledge to bring to his endodontic practice. You will find he is gentle, caring and trustworthy. He is always willing to answer questions and discuss treatment options. He routinely suggests no treatment or alternative treatment if he feels it is in the patients best interest. New patients are always amazed at how painless a modern root canal can be even if they have had problems getting numb in the past.

Dr. Fortman studied for his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at The University of Missouri-​Kansas City before practicing as a General Dentist for 5 years, at which time he decided to return to school for specialty training. He spent 3 years at Louisiana State University where he recieved his Specialty Certificate in Endodontics.

Dr. Fortman stays active in the community mainly by following his 2 sons around to their school and sports activities.

His hobbies are cycling, skiing, baseball, aviation and his newest-​go karting!

Dr. Fortman is an active member of The American Dental Association, The California Dental Association, The Redwood Dental Society, The American Association of Endodontics and The California State Association of Endodontics

I woke up with a horrible toothache and was referred to Dr Fortman for a possible root canal. He was able to take me in immediately and expertly took care of my root canal. I felt no pain and was done within an hour! His Very friendly staff made filling out insurance paperwork very easy! I feel great today thanks to Dr Fortman and his team!

Had the unfortunate problem of needing a root canal for the first time and was referred to Dr Fortman. He made the experience as easy and painless as possible. He has a really good, squared away staff. Everyone knows what they’re doing. He is good at his job and I felt confident in his abilities. He laughed at my jokes and is funny, so that gets an immediate upvote. Good, competent, professional office.

My regular dentist found that I had an abscessed tooth and was able to get me into Dr. Fortman the next day. I had not had this procedure prior to this and Dr. Fortman walked me through in detail explaining everything as it was happening. His assistant worked well with him and they constantly monitored my comfort. After my root canal was completed, an x-​ray was taken and Dr. Fortman showed what he had done and what to expect. I received a follow up call the next day to make sure all was.

I was having alot of pain over New Years and Dr. Fortman not only came in on his day off once but two different days over the New Year Holiday to help me. I had two root canals done the same day. (During his vacation). I am very grateful for his help and also for his staff coming in on their day off. WOW. He did an amazing job. Went really out of his way to help me.

Visited Fortman for a root canal this morning. His procedure took about an hour. His staff was friendly and supportive. As I said to him by the time I left his office, for that matter before he even started he had me as a more informed patient than any other dentist I had ever visited previously. He was a good listener and kept me up to date on procedure. Wasn’t bad at small talk either. The only reason I wouldn’t like to see him again is… I don’t want another root canal! Highly recommended.

I saw Dr. Fortman last week on an emergency basis.
I saw my dentist earlier that day after several days of suffering and he immediately knew a root canal would be necessary. He called Dr. Fortman and sent me directly to his office, just a couple of minutes away. His staff was friendly and very professional, advising me that they had other patients, would need to squeeze me in, and I would have to wait a bit. The wait was mercifully short — and well within the range of reasonable — particularly given the circumstances.
Dr. Fortman’s demeanor instilled instant confidence. He was able to clearly advise me of what was occurring, making the process completely tolerable. I cannot describe precisely what it was, but it was just obvious to me in the way he handled himself that he is extremely skilled and comfortable performing a root canal. And he remained very focused on the task, while still being able to communicate exactly what was occurring.
I’m not sure if it is Dr. Fortman’s skill, or the procedure in general, but I have to say that a root canal was not a bad experience for me at all. In fact, the relief was almost instantaneous; he prescribed me pain medication but I had no need to take it.

I am a local dentist and I regularly refer patients to Dr Fortman for root canal treatment. He is very personable, gentle and makes the whole process very comfortable for our patients. When our patients come back from his office, they are usually pleasantly surprised that their root canal went so easy. Dr Fortman goes above and beyond to ensure an excellent result for his patients by taking CBCT scans (a 3-​D image) in more complex cases so he can see every canal clearly before he starts a case. Several of our staff members have been treated at his office as well and all had nothing but great feedback.

I saw Dr. Fortman in an emergency situation and I can’t say enough good things about him. Not only did he help me but was extremely kind and concerned about my well being and comfort. His staff was equally engaging. I did have to go back with paIn the day after the initial root canal and was treated just as well. While I hope I never have the need for another root canal, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to return.

I am a general dentist in Santa Rosa. Root canals are not easy so I often utilize the partnership of a local, highly qualified specialist. I have sent A LOT of patients to Dr. Fortman over the years and all of my patients report back how much they loved him. He uses the utmost care and I see the quality of work that he does because I am looking in my patients mouths. He always emails me a report showing the final x-​ray with treatment notes and mails me a hard copy as well. I am so confident with Dr. Fortman’s ability that I’ve even referred my wife to see him, and not just once but twice!

I recently had a tooth ache and needed a root canal. I was nervous, but my tooth hurt so bad that I couldnt wait for the appointment. I was able see Dr. Fortman the same day I called. As soon as he numbed the tooth the pain went away. His staff was very helpful and he has a massage chair in the waiting room. If I ever need another root canal, I will definately be back to see Dr. Fortman.

Jared and his staff did an excellent job resolving my issue, dealing with my painful tooth and getting me back on my feet. I would highly recommend him as an Endodontist. The staff work hard to make sure you are comfortable and all billing issues are resolved.

Got my first (and hopefully only) root canal yesterday. Dr Fortman was great at explainig everything he was doing & why. He made me feel at ease. The office staff was great from making the appoint to the following up call today. .
I highly recommend Dr. Fortman. If I ever need a root canal again (which I hope not to) I will go to Dr. Fortman again.

Dr. Fortman was referred to me by the dental assistant who works there. Everyone came across caring and nice at first…
I supposedly needed a retreatment of a root canal. (After work was done initial pain was still there and problem was not fixed)
While Dr. Fortman was performing the procedure he BROKE OFF TIP OF TOOL up by the roots of my tooth. He then left it there and filled to tooth up. Once he was done working is when he decided to tell me this had happened. He thought explaining it to me and sending me on my way was the right thing to do. No money off and they wanted to charge me to fix the problem I countinued to have after the retreatment was done. When I tried to discuss this with the office I was given the run around until I talked to the Dr himself and he became defensive and manipulative… HE SAID he breaks off tools in peoples mouths at least 1 – 2 times a year!
BEWARE!!!
