Nethercutt Emergency Center

Utterly disgusted that this place passes for emergency medical care. Waited three hours with no help and no estimate of when we might get some help with my partner who was severely dehydrated and vomiting uncontrollably. Duty nurse told me they might see her if she stopped breathing.

The doctors are nurses were great… Especially Erika who lives in Santa Clarita. I thought I had patience… She’s an angel!!! It does take a long time for tests and doctors and to be admitted into the hospital, but with all those patients lined up in the hallway, I guess I can’t complain. My mom was treated well over there. The only bad thing About this place is their parking. They have a few public parking lots nearby but on weekdays they charge about $ 10 a half hour… $ 8 a whole day on Saturdays, closed on Sunday’s. City street metered parking is $.25 for 15 minutes. Some meters are 3,5,60 maximum parking… Then you might be able to add more money? I would recommend ucla’s facilties to everyone for their excellent care. They get knocked down a star for their parking unfortunately. I did see a valet parking … But I can only imagine how much they charge!

As crazy as it sounds, my husband and I have been to this emergency room 4 times between the two of us! (Luckily nothing too serious, as it turned out)
We have always been very impressed by the quality, not to mention friendliness, of the doctors and nurses. The time in the waiting room has always been minimal, but that may be due to the fact that most times we’ve gone have been either in the middle of the night, or early morning.
It’s nerve wracking enough as it is to have to go to the emergency room, that at least they provide a fairly comfortable environment. That being said, hopefully we will never return! ;)

Worst ER physician I’ve had in a very large time. I went to the ER for severe back pain and TMJ Issues. Dr Donaldson said there was a new protocol that they can not give out narcotics at hospitals anymore. I told him I could barley move and no compassion what so ever I understand he most likely deals with people that just want the drugs for the high. I Am on disability regarding my back he asked no question and told me he could do nothing for me. He even knew I was in severe pain but he really could care less in my book. Horrible DOC. And remember he took an oath to do the best to his ability to help and treat his Patients. He will be reported to AMA soon

I went to their Er yesterday early afternoon with a bad migraine. Couldn’t get in to see my regular doctor. I was in a lot of pain. The day before I was having bad pain in my neck and shoulder. Finally couldn’t take it anymore and went in. It was a bit crowded. They eventually took everyone in but me. Then the male nurse came out and kept calling a guys name who wasn’t there. I guess the person got tired of waiting. But he kept calling for him. By this time I was getting rather irritated. Before this a lady about got up and left said this is crazy. I think someone came out and got her.
Well they called my name and took me way down the hall. Stuck me on a bed in the hallway by some double doors and another door that i think went to the nurses lounge. Very busy. Doors slamming constantly. Did not feel good with a massive headache, There I sat there and waited and waited. Finally a dr with no bed side manner came over. Asked me what the problem was. I told him. I told what usually works for me but am out. He left. They came back with a iv with fluids and morphine. Did not ask if I was driving or how I got there. When I told them i did not want that and i was driving, the nurse said they could not give it to me. It would make me groggy and if i got stopped i could get a dui! How irresponsible on the nurses and the dr for not even asking if i was driving or if i had a ride. So then they wanted to give me codeine and some other drugs to get filled. I said no they don’t work for migraines. And they make me feel all doped up. After all i have a kid to take care of. He would not prescribe the medicine i have gotten there before and said they don’t prescribe it there. I told them they have. The nurse said she would get the dr. Kept waiting and waiting. Over a hour went by. My son was with me and he was having health issues at this point and almost collapsed on the floor. The nurses were walking right by him and looked and kept right on going. One said be careful.
Anyway we left without seeing a doctor again or getting anything. It seemed obvious he wasn’t coming back. The drs. attitude was very bad. Pump me with drugs that would not work with side affects but not give me something that works. And have the decenty to come back to talk to me.
They don’t live up to their reputation!!!

Maybe my experience was unique but I have not encountered such friendly, compassionate and professional staff as those whom work here. The minus one star however, is for the doctor who did not show much concern for my condition (yes — i know a fractured foot is not that serious — but he barely spent 2 minutes with me and rushed off before we could ask any questions — my husband had to hunt him down to get a few questions answered.) The nurses and orderlies and radiology personnel were terrific and I had a great experience.

I had to revise my review… beware of incompetent doctors in the ER.
I sent the below correspondence to the Hospital today.
I am writing about Dr. Sommers in your ER. I came in on Sunday ¹²⁄₂ after I had fallen down the stairs and my left foot was in pain, swollen and bruised. I had X rays taken and Dr. Sommers (who spent less than a total of 4 minutes tending to me) diagnosed a «toe fracture» and gave me a «wood soled» shoe and told me to follow up with my doctor in one week. I was experiencing severe pain and by Tuesday (¹²⁄₄) I went to a Podiatrist who reviewed the X rays taken at UCLA ER on sunday and showed me that the Dr. Sommers had entirely overlooked a Metatarsal Head Fracture on my fourth metatarsal and that giving me a wood soled shoe could have displaced the fracture and caused more damage to my foot. I am extremely upset and dissatisfied with the treatment I got at UCLA and find it sad that the person who was responsible for collecting my billing information and processing my co-​pay spent more time at my side than the doctor who completely overlooked a potentially dangerous situation. I believe that I should be refunded my co-​pay and that this matter should be addressed by hospital administration.

One star it’s already too many.
Worst Emergency Room, staffed by incompetent physician such as Dario McDonald. This mediocre in not even able to treat such a simple condition as elevated blood pressure.
Stay away from that ER if you can

I was here for three hours before I gave up and left. I’m here because the UCLA neurologist office sent me– I’m guessing I’m a low priority … BTW the person next to me was ignored for about five hours before his specialist rattled some cages so he could get his kidney failure fixed. Suddenly they knew his name — I absolutely hate UCLA care…

This is not an urgent care center… It is an emergency room. I walked in on this assumption and learned my lesson $ 250 later.
Fine for an emergency room, but my review is based on the fact that the mongrel at the front desk did not correct me when I asked it was an urgent care center.

My review is based off the completely incompetent woman with whom I spoke on the phone a few weeks ago. Struggling with pains from a recently broken foot, I called to inquire if they took my health insurance. Obviously I want to be seen by a center that takes my health insurance that I pay for every month. I was transferred to another woman who replied that they cannot share any health insurance information with me until I am seen by a doctor. What kind of place enforces this rule?
I immediately crossed this place off my list and called Playa Vista Medical Center. The receptionist was a darling, informing me that yes, they took my insurance. Nice and easy.
Do not go here. Opt for Playa Vista Medical Center.

Wow, this urgent care center had me in and out in 30 minutes! The staff was super nice and understanding when I came in whispering because I had Laryngitis. The doctor didn’t make me wait long at all and answered all of my questions patiently. They gave me a ton of information about my «condition» to take home with me and were so friendly, I could hardly believe I was in an emergency room! LOVE THEM!

It’s 6am on a Friday morning and my eye is swollen shut. Not like, it looks like I spent the night crying — I literally can’t see out of it, it’s so bad! My bf drove me to this gem and I have honestly never had such a wonderful experience at an ER before.
As we pulled up, the ER parking said it was for 20 mins. I joked, «wow, this must be a really fast ER.» Lucky for me… it was! We signed in and within minutes I was taken inside my a nurse, my vitals were taken, and he asked the usual questions as to why I ended up in the ER (cashew allergy, in case anyone is interested). Meanwhile, the parking security guard gave us a parking pass and took care of our car.
Within 20 minutes I saw the doctor, who was super laid back and nice and didn’t look at me like I was a freak (trust me, it was really bad, people). I got my shot of Benadryl and I was on my way.
The admin staff was really nice and I was feeling better by that afternoon. Thank you to everyone at the Nethercutt ER — you guys were fast and friendly, and if I ever need emergency medical attention again, I will not hesitate to go to your lovely facility. I would entrust and recommend this ER to all my family and friends.

12:30 am and my 3 year old is wheezing, has shortness of breath and coughing, what a mother to do? Freak out? Yes, a little bit. Get on the horn call the pediatrician? Yes, and get instructed to take my sweet peanut to the ER. Done. We were lucky enough to be blessed with the most awesome ER doctor EVER! Ross Donaldson MD made everything better! My daughter received a breathing treatment and my sweet girl was feeling back to her old self again. She was smitten with Doctor Donaldson. If you ever read this Ross Donaldson MD., Thank you soooooooooooooo much! You are the best!!! Your gentle bedside manor relaxed a worried mommy.
