McCabe Property Management

Please be very careful in hiring this company to manage your property or HOA. The other reviewers that gave them a 1 star rating are spot on. If I can give them 0 stars, I would. They are unprofessional, incompetent, rude and arrogant. They are not looking after one’s HOA but themselves. I understand that they are a business but they should perform the responsibilities that were given to them as compensation for the fees that they charge. They are initially affordable but after years with them, realized that they charged exorbitant fees that they describe as the cost of doing business. They would tack a 10% increase in fees yearly and would notify the homeowners only at the last month of the year. The community/​HOA has no choice but to comply as their contract stipulates that termination can only be done 60 days/​2 months prior to end of contract else termination fee of 1 year of fees plus an inflated processing fee. They rarely respond to emails especially if you have concerns. Calls are your best bet but seems to be only lip service. Nothing has been done with the common issues that our community has. Responses can also be rude. I don’t even know why they are still in business. Like what another reviewer has said, it’s indeed a pain terminating their services. Funny that another reviewer compared them to a cable provider. They are more like an insurance agency who are quick to get your premium but will deny any claim. For those who are looking for a management company, research and look for reviews and recommendations. Our previous board might have overlooked this before hiring them. Now we are paying the price. I can never and will never recommend them.

Our building worked with McCabe for three years. During that time they did not pay utility bills and The Gas Company posted shut off notices on our building several times. We now are working with a different management company and have found that not only did McCabe not pay the utility bills, they never filed or paid our taxes. Then they had Unilocal remove my negative review. Do. Not. Hire. Them.

Fees fees fees. Their monthly fees seem better than others at first but they charge so many fees. You get what you pay for. Bait and switch. Fees for every single thing. McCabe is really responsive when pitching to you but he doesn’t do the day to day work after you sign. That’s someone else. Not too responsive. Really hard to cancel. Almost like a cable company in that sense. Really be careful.

Unfortunately there is not a way to give less than one star. This company is not only incompetent, but arrogant, unprofessional, and unethical. Please do not waste your time and money as our HOA has done. Fortunately, we are in the arduous process of freeing ourselves from them, but not without a bit of pain.

Horrible, horrible business. Unprofessional, doesn’t do anything they promise to do, doesn’t know anything about HOA laws, and when we fired them for non-​performance they sent a letter to all of the owners saying they were stealing our money!

I hate to say this, but disregard the first praise message I posted in 2013.

The Majorca has gone through several management companies over the 15 years I’ve owned in the building. None of the previous companies have even come close to the level of service and professionalism that we have received from McCabe. It started with an HVAC system that had been in disrepair for over a year that we feared could not be fixed, when Joseph and his team came aboard they had the problem resolved in a matter of weeks, just in time for our next big heat wave. Since then they have been outstanding at helping us bring our aging building to a much better state and we couldn’t be more satisfied.
Our main contact at McCabe, Jonathan Jensen has been a true super hero for us. Our building has been incredibly demanding and in need of quite a bit of extra care overs the past few years, and Jonathan is always at the ready, responds to issues immediately, and get the problem resolved as quickly as it is possible. His extensive knowledge has helped us out of several situations and saved us thousands of dollars in doing so. It has been invaluable to have Jonathan there for us ²⁴⁄₇. Time and time again, McCabe has gone far and above the role of just a management company for our building. As the current HOA president, I will tell you I would absolutely not have taken on that role without the assistance of Jonathan and McCabe. I cannot stress the level of knowledge, expertise and professionalism McCabe brings to us. They are an amazing group of gentlemen that I have grown to rely on quite heavily and I truly don’t know where I or our building would be without them. And I really don’t like to think about it.

We’ve been with McCabe Management for years now and love them. They manage our medium sized HOA and our board is very pleased with the services they provide. McCabe Management has a way of getting things done with respect to low cost and prompt attention.
Jonathan and Les are your go-​to guys for anything you need done! They always go out of their way to accomplish everything on the list and focus on making you happy! They both work very late hours to accommodate the needs of home owners at all hours of the day and night. They’re almost always reachable and always have their 24hr emergency line.
