Former clinical consultant to the Cleveland Chiropractic College,(Los Angeles) and Whittier Chiropractic College. Medical volunteer for the Deaf Olypics (Los Angeles) and local middle/high school athletic department. Former AYSO coach. Watch out for him
He never mentions any rates
He made a sole for my daughters shoes
It came up to around 600 dollars
Before I knew it a collection agency called me

I am very unhappy with his work on bunion removal. MY RATING IS ACTUALLY ZERO.
It was enormous pain after the surgery — he cut off too much bone, which never grows back.
I consulted with other doctors and x-rays were done — the others said this operation can not be corrected. The other podiatrist never saw this type of work, they said it’s a terrible result.
I am left with a club foot for the rest of my life. i went back to him and he claimed the foot and the bone will adjust itself — IT NEVER DID,…
i was able to wear all kind of shoes with my bunion before… but not it’s not possible to wear anything but flat open shoes. I am very dissatisfied if i had known I would have never gone for this surgery with Dr Wallen.

I was not just dissatisfied with my visit to Dr. Wallen, I was shocked and upset. I had gone in to simply get my toe nails clipped, but he did not do just TRIMMING, he cut into my SKIN with his sharp scissors/clippers. This was not supposed to be a surgery, just a clipping of my toenails. The sharp clippers, he dug into one corner of my big toe, and it bled– a lot– and then after I yelled, «ouch,» he CONTINUED to cut into the opposite corner of that same big toe, and then THAT bled! I was in shock, and was in pain– I couldn’t believe what this doctor had just done. He was SUPPOSED to be TRIMMING my toe nails– not cutting into my skin. He did not respond at all when I said «ouch,» and he showed no concern that I was indicating to him that what he was doing was hurting me. If he had told me
ahead that he might need to cut into the corners of my big toe, in order to trim the nail properly, or if he had given me something ahead to «numb» my big toe, with a prior medical explanation, perhaps I could have dealt with this, but he did not. I am also upset because I am a diabetic, and did not NEED my big toe cut into. I had informed Dr. Wallen, that I was a diabetic, on my first visit with him a couple of weeks before. I would not recommend Dr. Wallen to anyone, after this horrendous experience! And, of course, I will not be returning there.

Dr. Mark Wallen is AWESOME! I’d been hobbling around for 2 years not knowing that the pain in my hip was associated with the stiffening in my big toe until Dr. Wallen explained that I had a bone spur that was affecting not only my foot, but my hip and back and gait — basically everything on the right side of my body. Dr. Wallen was super clear about my options, straightforward about the surgery, called a cheilectomy, and the recovery. Super attentive guy. Called me regularly post op. Returned my calls promptly. Even gave me his cell number. Everything going exactly as he said it would 3 months out — the pain of the spur is gone, replaced by post op soreness which is decreasing everyday. If you’re going to cut into your foot, better have confidence in the guy who’s doing the cutting. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mark Wallen. Very happy with the results.

Dr. Mark Wallen is AMAZING! The night of my foot surgery he called me at home to see how i was doing. Most Dr.‘s NEVER do that! He never rushes you out of the office when you have an appointment and the wait time is usually only 10min at most. A week after my surgery i called the office because i was in pain but he wasn’t there so i left a message with the receptionist. An hour later he called my office to see what was wrong and make sure i was doing okay. He really cares about his patients and not only that he did an amazing job on my foot. I had bunion surgery and he made my foot look great! i would def. recommend him as a surgeon and DR.

Although Dr. Wallen has a great bedside manner, his services are not great. I went to him with foot pain which was diagnosed as Planar Faciiitis. He taped my feet on one session (which cost me $ 250), then we went though several other appointments which ended up in me getting a very expensive pair of orthodics.
The orthodics ended up being useless. During the course of my visits, I was always made to wait as it seems that the doctor always overbooks himself. One morning he showed up late and I had to leave the office as I could not be late to work.
At the end of the day, I asked the doctor for a break on the orthodics. Next thing I get is a notice from a collections agency. Great way to negotiate!
My experiences with Dr. Wallen were very negative and would not recommend you use him for his services.
