Great coffee(from Urth) and excellent pastries. Nice place to socialize after church. Kid friendly too.

Definitely underwhelmed. I decided to stop in this morning to support the local church, and it’s the last time I will do so. The women working being the counter took about 30 seconds to acknowledge me – despite looking right at me – so they could finish their conversation about online dating and Tinder. The conversation continued as one of the women rung me up, and I got the impression that my presence was an unwelcome nuisance that interrupted their social hour. Worst of all, my decaf Americano was watery and lacked flavor. Not worth the $ 3 or 5 minutes of my day.

I had a $ 5 gift certificate for months and finally snagged the opportunity to use it today! I had the BEST macchiato ever… without any of that«extra stuff» that some coffee shops add. Jose, the barista, was friendly and really cared about making me a great drink. I’m bummed that I am hardly ever in this area… or I would be here all the time. What a great little hidden gem :)

Friendly staff and excellent coffee. I’m somewhat of a Starbucks snob but when I bring my mom to mass I enjoy a fresh cub of coffee and pastry. Really great place to collect your thoughts too.

I wanna keep this a hidden neighborhood secret! Such a nice laid back environment. Really nice staff, good coffee and tea. And I was highly impressed with the music selection! Bob Marley and jesus, yes please! Bachata and jesus, oh happy day! And super cute gift shop inside coffee shop!

There are so many coffee shops in LA. most of which are super fancy and designer… yet I have a really soft spot for Holy Grounds. The coffee and tea are from Urth… so it’s basically like going there except you get to support the local church. And you don’t have to wait in that crazy long line. They also have smoothies if you’re more into something fruity and refreshing. I really like the space in general. There is free wifi and a few tables. If I need to get some work done, it’s a great calming space to be productive.

Just awesome. I believe almost everything is from Urth, which is also great. And at a beautiful Catholic Church to boot.

Came here from Long Beach to study for my nursing finals. Great atmosphere. Played plenty of mellow music in the background to provide a great ambient atmosphere for studying. They even made a great hazelnut Americano with plenty of whip cream to keep me going. If you need a place to get work done, this is it.

I’m digging this café. Friendly customer service. Super clean restroom. Quiet environment with soft pleasant piano music playing. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor has high tables as well as two comfy arm chairs to relax. Outdoor has two large round tables if you would like some sunshine. It is a perfect spot if you need to work and/or study and even catch up with a friend. Personally I’m enjoying it today because the church nearby is enlivening my spirits and settling my emotions which is very much needed in order to continue working! Highly recommend checking it out. Oh and free wifi is always a plus! :)

I visited this coffee shop twice now and it is a cute coffee shop with a nice ambience but there are some things that can be better. The variety of pastries they have is limited. If you are looking to get your croissant heated up it is not going to happen because I guess they don’t have a microwave or small oven to warn things up. I had their chocolate croissant without any heating up and the chocolate was very strong, the croissant itself was good but because it wasn’t warmed up it felt like I was eating a bar of butter. We know croissants are mostly butter but when they are heated up it is easier to not realize this and enjoy the warm flakiness. Their coffee I have had on occasion too and it depends who is there on the quality you receive. Overall though it gets the job done of what your there for, caffeine or a snack. They also have religious gifts on display for you to purchase which I always love to look through.

I gotta admit, I didn’t expect too much from a quaint coffee shop at a Catholic Church. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. While the coffee is definitely good, the strawberry banana smoothie I had was one of the best that I have ever tasted. The second time I went, I had a hot ham & cheese croissant; ALSO fantastic. Overall, this is a great place, reasonably priced, comfortable atmosphere(indoor & out), and it supports a wonderful local community. 5 stars.

Iced tea strangely sweetened, expensive smoothies and crunchy cookies, weird churchy vibe, crazy loud when school let’s out around 3:30, otherwise empty and quiet by 5 or so. Lots of jewelry and books to check out if you have nothing better to do. I only hung bc it was around the corner from a class I take. Don’t plan to go back.

Excellent coffee drinks and pastries, plus books and gifts. How many Catholic Churches have a coffee shop on site? Gotta love St Monica – they do! And they serve Urth Caffe coffees. Avoid the huge lines at Urth Caffe on Main St and come here instead. :)

The Holy Grounds Coffee Café is a very welcoming and inviting place to grab a quick cup of coffee or tea and hang out. There is free Wi-Fi, underground parking and a patio with plenty of seating. I would happily come here if it were a regular café but it also happens to be supporting the church and a good cause of providing jobs to disenfranchised individuals!

This is the best kept secret in Santa Monica. I almost do not want to write this review because I just discovered how awesome it is!!! Holy grounds Coffee Café is settled in a nicely well lit and safe neighborhood in the west side. I know what you are thinking…, when you think of Santa Monica you immediately thinking parking nightmare because of all the traffic and tourist traffic. But rest assured that Holy Grounds is not near the 3rd street promenade/pier tourist trap, its a few blocks away, even walking distance close, but its situated north of Wilshire, near the Church and park. There’s plenty of parking here, but just be aware of the parking signs in the neighborhood. cuz after 6pm some of the parking is set aside for residential with those zone permits. And there’s metered parking. The people here are all nice and pleasant. You really will build a community of friends here. I often go to other coffee shops where I reek of coffee beans so strong that the smell is in my hair and clothes. If you like that high, ok, but its not here. I like how clean this place is, the friendly staff, and that my clothes don’t smell like coffee beans when I walk out. The coffee is organic, and let me tell you… I don’t drink much coffee but when I tried the coffee here, you can definitely taste the freshness of the flavor. The desserts are from Urth café and all taste delicious. There’s free WIFI — Which is definitely a bonus. So if you’re in the area, please stop by and take just one moment to take a breath and enjoy the beautiful view. I love this place!
