EdgeCast Networks

We were told that we will be given a very good price for the use of content delivery
network «CDN», after aggressive sales tactic and extreme pressure, we agree to use
the service based on the price and similar product provided by our current CDN.
When we singed the agreement with Edgecast, they started to count bandwidth
(internet use) at 2 – 3 times higher then our previous CDN or any other CDN in the
market that we have used. At first we thought it was a mistake and we asked for
help with this issue, we were given the «run around.» Until we demanded a
conference call with a network engineer who admitted they had turned on «midgrass»
or mid shield, a way to double bill a customer (you pay for streaming away from your
server and back to your server). Clearly a method for Edgecast to offset the low
price they were charging us to get us to sign an agreement. After several
conversations and when we asked them to make changes we found out they were
continuing over charge us. When I cancelled the agreement over the phone and in
writing, and even with limited or no use of their service, Edgecast continued using
unethical method to bill my credit card (like authorizing a lower amount when the
higher amount was not approved and using reoccurring billing to push an amount thru
American express). When I asked to speak to a higher up in the company I was told
they will not talk to to me and want to cut off all communications, and I should
look for a law suite if i don’t pay. buyer beware…
