Campbell Overhead Door

Originally had a problem with my garage door. They came out to replace the lower panel.
After they serviced it didn’t sound right.
Less than Two months later had a problem where door didn’t open.
Had a Different company (at COD’s recommendation) come out because they could not come within 2 days. B and C basically said it was not serviced correctly the first time.
I’m disappointed in the work they have done for me.
Overall, they have a fair price, they are honest, just not a competent as one would hope.

This company took the time to discuss our problem, and gave several options on the repairs needed. The prices were very reasonable. They gave a call 30 minutes before they arrived to make sure we were there at the house. The service person, Rick, was very polite, worked hard for 2 hours and cleaned up so you would never know he was there. Very satisfied with the entire process. We would strongly recommend this company and would use them again.

I found a coupon in the mail for another company which is run by Garage Door Service and Repair. That company wanted to charge me $ 600 for one broken spring. Gave me this nonsense story about using high performance springs that cost $ 125 each plus $ 300 labor. Said it was «dangerous». I told them to leave and luckily found Campbell Overhead Door on Nextdoor site with one of the neighbors providing a great reference. Matt arrived. He recommended just the 1 spring to be replaced for a $ 165, or 2 for $ 190. I replaced both. He had it done in 20 minutes. It works perfectly now. Avoid the coupon guys in the mail.

I was never quoted a price when I talked to them on the telephone. I was charged $ 114.00 for one remote control. When I said the price was too high, he sprayed something on the rollers (which I did not want). They made some money, but lost a loyal customer.

They installed my door several years ago. I was so impressed then than when I needed a spring replaced I didn’t even look anywhere else. I just called them, they had an appointment available the next day. They called right in the window they said they would. They arrived promptly. The price which I didn’t bother asking for in advanced was reasonable and they were done replacing the spring in under an hour. Without any prompting, they gave me tips on how to make the spring last longer (it wouldn’t surprise me if they gave me the same advice when I got the door installed and I just plain forgot). They also lubricated what needed lubrication on the rest of the door and opener.

We needed minor repairs to our garage doors and we are located quite a ways from their office. No problem. They scheduled an appointment within a few days, arrived on time, sent a professional repairman, finished the work promptly– well done. Thank you!

Harry came out today to service our garage door today. I am SO pleased with the results. Before, it was loud and rattly. Now it is whisper-quiet…better than when it was originally installed. Thank you!

My garage door had been failing for weeks, but yesterday it wouldn’t open at all. I called at 5 and Sean was at my door by 7 this morning and finished by 8. It wasn’t cheap, but all the parts are lifetime guarantee. Very happy with the service, and so is my car.

I noticed a spring on the garage door was broken and needed it replaced. I contacted Campbell Overhead Door because they rated well on Unilocal.
I also contacted several other companies that rated well, but Campbell Overhead Door was the first to respond to my request for a bid.
Harry was the gentleman that came to the house. He had a great attitude and worked quickly to fix the problem.
He also fixed the door, which was coming apart because the spring was broken so long, and lubed the wheels, as well. There was one other concern I had and he fixed that too.
I was very happy with the service and the price. I would use this company again.

Integrity, quality and customer service. Everything you hope to find in a company but is very rare these days. Call them first!
Campbell Overhead Door went above and beyond in their installation of a new garage door for me. Not only did the take the time to show me samples at their showroom on Junction Ave but they also did not up sell me on anything we didn’t need. They were very VERY reasonably priced, on time, professional and courteous from the time I called for a quote until the door was installed (including new tracks, springs and opener).
It is unfortunate that they were not the first company I called and they stepped in to clean up a mess left behind by another big name that we had been using since the 1960’s. I can’t speak highly enough of their service and they definitely have a customer for life with us. I wish I had called them first and I am leaving this review so that I can save others the time and trouble.
As a small business owner I am very reluctant to use Unilocal.Many reviews are from someone that had a bad day and they should always be taken with a grain of salt. In this instance, from the owners, the office staff and the installer «thank you». You guys are the best. I will certainly call you first from now on!

I want to personally thank Campbell Door for our wonderful new garage door. It is beautiful and love the side drive garage opener. I found the best price and installation was perfect.

I had an exact door in mind of what I wanted. A clean and crisp white carriage door. I had called a few places in Santa Cruz, and when the guy came out to my home, he quoted me for the steel garage door and new drive train, OH… and a 6 week wait. Say what. :(I jumped online and googled «san jose garage door company», and Campbell Overhead Doors popped up.
Dozens of positive reviews, so I decided to call them. The owner answered the phone (pretty cool), and said,“Sure, I’ll be out tomorrow to give you a quote.” He was right on time, showed me samples and was driving away in less than 15 – 20 min. It was rather quick, but he understood what I wanted. He quoted me $ 1000 cheaper than that garage door co in Santa Cruz, AND he said he could install in about 2 weeks. Awesome! You’re hired!
The owner’s wife calls me in 2 weeks as promised, and got me right on their schedule. The 2 guys that showed up were very nice and were there from 9am-​1pm.
They installed the quietest garage door I have ever heard! It’s so stealth! The neighbors are now wanting new doors. They can’t believe how quiet it is and how stylish it is. I’ve always believed a garage door makes a statement.

Campbell Overhead Door has been helped us for more than 10 years (since Feb. 2004).
Today, they came to replace one of the broken garage door spring. Rick, Campbell service technician, was on time, polite, and provided us with professional service. He showed us he really know what he is doing. He also charged us very reasonable. I am giving them a 5-​star rating without any reservation. We will ask them to service our garage doors in the next several decades. BTW, two of my neighbors also Campbell’s customers.
I sure hope all the service stores can be like Campbell.

Total flakes. Didn’t do what they promised. I called them for service first thing on a Tuesday morning. My garage handle is stripped and I cannot open it. They are booked that day so I said fine. I just ask that they come out by 1pn the following day because my bikes are stuck in garage and need access to them as that is my only transpo to work. I’m nervous so I call the morning of service just to verify that they are coming. They assure me they are. 1pm rolls around and there is nobody showing up. I call and they say a truck broke down and that the driver was supposed to have called me to let me know. I understand stuff happens. But be open and forth wright about it. The screwed me over making me scramble like they did. They also were very unapologetic. This company is a pass.

Excellent and super quiet garage door. Service is excellent and quick. I am very pleased with their service. The garage door is installed in time and after we inspect it, there is some paint touch up needed and Campbell guys responded quickly and get the job done! Great service as well as good looking steel door that look like wood but much better and easy to maintain ! Really quiet !

We returned home from a trip to find our tilt-​up garage door was broken (there was a huge split at the top; it was 50 years old, so I’m not complaining).
I called Campbell Overhead Door at 9am on Friday before Memorial Day and described my problem. Harry and Holly were at our house before 11am. Harry looked at the old door, declared it unfixable (no surprise), and Holly said that they could install an in-​stock insulated steel roll-​up door the next day. They took measurements and left; that part of the process took about 30 minutes.
On Saturday, the work crew arrived about 11:15am and finished about 1:30. They were quick and courteous, and the new door looks and works great.
They were able to re-​use our existing opener (about 5 years old), saving us significant money. And the whole process took less than 30 hours from our first call — on a holiday weekend!

It was time to replace our 40 year old garage door. After research on both Angie’s List and Unilocal we decided to check out two companies. We went to both show rooms and looked at the selections. We wanted a non wood door that would match as closely as possible our light oak front doors. Neither show room had light oak samples that «wowed» us, but we figured that was probably all that was available so we set up appointments for measurements and estimates. Harry, the owner, came by our home on a Sunday after church to give us the estimate. When we showed him our front door he said, I don’t have a sample like that but I have seen one that is very close and I know I can get it. His estimate was considerably less than the other company, so based on his cost and promise to get us a pretty good match we gave him the go ahead.
It took a few weeks to get the door, but when the installers brought it out we were amazed. The light oak color was very close to our front door and the door looks like a wooden door. Several of our neighbors have told us how much they like our door and when they see it up close they are surprised that it isn’t wood. The grain that runs from panel to panel really does look like wood. We are VERY pleased with Campbell Overhead Door and recommend them without reservation.

I decided to replace our garage door opener with a quieter model. I called around for several quotes and Campbell Overhead Door had the lowest price. Based on that, and the good reviews on Unilocal,I decided to go with them.
When Mark arrived on Friday to install the opener, he found that it would it was too long to fit due to some cabinets hanging from the ceiling. He made some measurements and took the opener back to their shop to cut the rail and belt. He returned the next day to install it. Everything went well without a hitch. He also adjusted the garage door springs and lubricated the rollers. He left some lubricant and told me how to use it on the rollers to keep the door quiet.
I’m very pleased with the work and price I received from Campbell Overhead Door. I will definitely use them in the future for any garage door needs.

I recommend this company without reservation. They installed my new garage door last week after our old door broke down. Thus far, my family and I are more than satisfied. From the bidding process with Harry (the owner), to ordering the exact door and finally to installation, everything went smoothly, timely and with great service along the way.
We had obtained bids from other nearby companies, and Campbell Overhead Door beat them by a significant margin for the exact same door and a better opener. They specialize in installing C.H.I. doors, but Harry recommended a Clopay — Gallery Collection Ultra-​Grain because we wanted a wood-​stain colored steel door. It took only 2.5 weeks for the door to come in (it takes 3 – 4 weeks to order from the manufacturer, which is standard with Clopay doors no matter who installs them). C.H.I looks to have great doors too, but we really wanted a wood-​looking door and Harry recommended the Clopay over the C.H.I in that regard. We also wanted a door with a Carriage-​Style look to it (with the ornamental handles and hinges).
The installers, Bryan and Alex, were professional, efficient and did a great job. They even took the time to look at my neighbors door, who are both elderly, and made some recommendations on what to do. They asked for my preferences on certain issues and answered all my questions.
I will recommend them to all my friends and family members. I am also posting a photo of the installed door (Clopay Gallery Collection, Ultra-​Grain, Dark Oak with Colonial Handles and Straps, Arch1 Grill Windows).
The opener we selected is a Liftmaster Elite 8550, which has some very nifty features and is super quiet.
