Overall, an experience worth your time and money. Some parts are brilliant. Some parts are «meh». Fun. Unusual. Familiar. Dreamlike. Disturbing. Noisy. Crowded. Quiet. Interactive.

I am both amazed and confused. Overload to the senses in the best way possible. This place is going to skyrocket here soon. Probably needed to go a dozen times to actually solve the mystery, but I had a blast regardless.

Artistically bankrupt.
I felt the exhibit would be fun for kids/​families to enjoy but was disappointed with the lack of real artistic effort. Perhaps «The House of Eternal Return» will become a victim of its own hype… You read all the rave reviews, everyone is talking about it, then you go, and it’s like a bad LSD trip. I had a headache after 15 minutes in there.
The exhibit seemed aimless, in some cases thrown together, some things were «cool,» but simply not inspiring. Perhaps the artists should take a trip to Dali’s Museum in Figueres, Spain for some surrealist/​immersive inspiration.
There were no real discoveries to be made, just a big fun house for kids. Hard to explain but often times the different installations would create an expectation that was never fulfilled. So you’d be excited for a moment in anticipation that something more was coming but it was just a shell, because that second part never came. This made me feel like I was simply overloaded with blinking lights and sounds.
I respect all the hard work that was done on the part of the creators, but artistically it just misses the mark for me and the group I was with. For all the resources, a core substance is lacking.

I’m pretty sure that «meeeeow woooolf!!!» is the sound your brain makes when it reaches capacity and explodes. As a certified wordsmith, I was left speechless. Just, god, where to start?
And that’s kinda the point of Meow Wolf. It doesn’t start, it doesn’t end, you wander for as long as your body will allow and leave knowing that there’s no way you could’ve seen everything, already longing to go back in the second your feet hit the parking lot. If you’d ever had a hard time grasping the concept of infinity, well, here’s your visual representation.
All five senses: engaged. Smell: the dusty aroma of the fog machines invokes nostalgia for the long hours spent backstage in my college theater days. Touch: the first time I’m in an art museum and nobody screams at me for not controlling my impulse to run my fingertips over everything. Taste: the hot tang of drinking fountain water as I re-​hydrate halfway through the journey. Sound: a symphony of otherworldly noises mingled with delighted laughter. Sight: I learn that there are more types of light than stars in the sky.
I may have emerged more verbose than ever.
You’d expect the staff at a place like this to be, uh, «out there,» but they were totally on point. While we were there, my son lost his beloved «Browns» — a terry cloth monkey dog toy dressed in baby pajamas, Browns goes with us everywhere. Browns is a part of our family and we were afraid we’d never see his accepting smile again. After several panicked phone calls, emails and an in-​person visit by my mother, Browns was located and returned safely. My mom cannot stop talking about the «nice long-​haired gentleman» who was so helpful to her. I explained that this description fits approximately 30% of the staff at Meow Wolf, but really, thanks, you guys left an impression on my self-​described «tough critic» of a mother, and that’s quite an accomplishment. We now know that Browns was never lost, he was just taking an extended journey through Meow Wolf, that cheeky monkey.
Book your tickets online and prepare yourself for the fact that they may be at capacity, then buckle up, you’re in for one heck of a ride.

My husband and I had spent a nice day sight seeing and dining in New Mexico. We went back to our rv park and were miserably lounging in the heat. I looked up nightlife on Unilocal and Meow Wolf is what I found. It was only 5 minutes away and closing in 2 hours. It sounded interesting so we went.
My head is still spinning. What a trip! It’s a living interactive art house that is something out of your wildest dream… or nightmare. It’s like 100 different artists put their imaginations to the test and combined together to form a weird world you walk through. Full of twists, turns, and surprises. Have your camera ready. And be ready to travel through the unexplainable! You’ve got to see this!
We killed an hour in there but I’m sure you could spend more time.
To top it off I think you can see bands perform there which would be cool. It would have to be a band that fit the off the wall vibe of this fun house.

Meow Wolf presents The House of Eternal Return… an interactive art installation inside a former bowling alley… a mysterious romp through time and space, confusing, magical, weird, cult-​like, and awesome. A fun-​house meets mind melt meets interactive detective show. I know that everyone tries to describe this place but I think this is just one of those places where you have to see /​touch /​crawl /​discover for yourselves… I shall return to this place with all of my out of town guests for years to come… I would love a map or clue check-​list of some sort for furture visits, as well as more shade structures and shaded outdoor seating areas. Please note that it is like a nice cool cave inside. Overall, wow!

2 words SO FUN! This is a very very highly recommend place of mine for everyone to visit! Basically this is a huge fun house. Every nook and cranny is a another whole room! Don’t let the exterior fool you. The inside is a paradise. Great for all ages! (We came during the house of eternal return phase, the exhibits change all the time) I really recommend that you check it out. Its very fun.

We did not know what to expect when first visiting Meow Wolf but it didn’t take long to realize they’ve created something special for Santa Fe. It is a collection of inventive exhibits but it is anything but conventional. You start at the Victorian House which is vaguely like Disneyland’s Haunted House replete with low lighting and the sounds of crickets from under the front porch. This «house» consists of an entry-​way, living room, kitchen and two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.
What’s cool, is the way you can exit the house and into a netherworld consisting of a variety of rooms and exhibits. Our favorite egress was through the refrigerator in the kitchen. The rooms range from cave-​like to upscale barn to high tech. You are free to roam and we found ourselves doubling back a few times to take in the details. The exhibits are themed and consist of lights, sound and props. My companions especially liked the laser room with the beams splayed like the strings of a harp that produced a corresponding sound when you swept your hands through.
The age range for Meow Wolf is any age, from toddler to geriatric. Although there can be some clamboring to enter some of the exhibit spaces.

Fun place to spend the day, especially if you have kids. Really trippy, fun, wacky cool… wait, was I sober or on a LSD high when I visited?
I think I might have enjoyed it more if the story line were easier to follow — I thought it was too esoteric. Also it was crowded, but I went on a holiday weekend. Although I did not feel that this place lives up to the hype, I do agree that it is an amazing celebration of art, architecture, design, creativity, and yes, even philosophy. I just feel that the storytelling could be better.
In case your kids don’t have enough to do here, there are arts and crafts activities for them in separate rooms. We saw a stuffed animal workshop in progress while we were there.

An amazing experience for kids of all ages. The only place I’ve ever been like this is the City Museum in St Louis. So many areas to explore in whatever way and at whatever pace you want.
From the descriptions, I thought my two-​year-​old might be too young, but he loved it, and we enjoyed it with him.
Crowded even on a weekday morning, I imagine weekends are crazy.

This is a must see attraction in Santa Fe. Put an interactive amusement park, bar, maker space, art exhibit, concert venue, and scifi novel into a blender and you will get something that is like Meow Wolf. Going through it while clean and sober, you’ll start to think that someone put some psychedelic mushrooms in your cereal.
The music venue within the House of Eternal Return (what the art exhibit part is called), is a very intimate setting with a very good sound system/​tech guy.

What an unique and amazing experience! This place is a must-​see if you’re in Santa Fe. The front desk clerk recommended Meow Wolf the day before we were to leave town, and we delayed our departure the next morning to go. We hadn’t heard of it and didn’t even know the place existed before he suggested it, but we decided to try It out. It was worth it and I would have regretted missing it.
As others have said, it’s difficult to describe the experience but I would say it’s an interactive museum that is fun for both children AND adults. There are many activities that are supposedly «great for families,» which is a poorly disguised way of saying they’re fun for kids and really lame for adults. Then there are the fun adult activities that involve exposure to profanity, violence, and other types of naughtiness, but those of course are not suitable for the kiddos.
My wife and I have no children and so are usually involved with fun «adult activities» but at Meow Wolf, everyone had a good time! The museum includes room upon room filled with fun sculptures, TV screens, clues to help you solve a mystery, and secret rooms with various lights and tons of things you can touch, feel, climb on, and jump on. The place is HUGE. It takes about 2 hours to go through all the rooms if you’re not rushing, and unlike most museums, there’s not a ton of boring reading and of course you can touch everything. This museum is guaranteed to exhaust your kids and that in itself is priceless!
The admission is $ 18/​adult and $ 12/​kid, so it can get expensive if you’re bringing a crowd. They do offer a significant military discount as well as discounts for NM residents. Despite the cost, I’m glad I went and suggest it to anyone else who wants to be a kid again, if only for a little while.

This place is AMAZING! Be prepared to spend hours without even realizing it. Came to Meow Wolf to listen to the band Talking Hours. While we were waiting we decided to explore this unique place. So many twists and turns and hidden nooks that we easily got lost and even ended up at the beginning again. From what I understand I guess there is some type of storyline to this place and you have to uncover clues to it. We didn’t get too involved with the story of the place but it is a definite for the next time.
The place is connected yet has different themes to it. You have a two story house, a spaceship, a forest, some ice caves, and other interesting themed sections. The area with the stage is awesome. You can hear the band really great and if you step away the sound travels to other parts as well. Talking Hours did a fantastic job and I really hope they can come again to Meow Wolf.
If you decide to explore Meow Wolf be ready to be amazed and to have a great time. I was not disappointed and want to return when I have more time. Keep an eye out on the FB page. A worker said when they have events it will be posted there about details. Can’t wait to see what they do for Halloween.

Meowwolf is an interesting experience and adventure. It will take you hours to explore this space. But it is so worth it. It was so much fun.
This is a MUST SEE! Take your friends, family whoever. They will enjoy it.

This is by far the coolest art installation my husband and I have ever seen. We were in town for a wedding and we went in and honestly didn’t really know what to expect, but we are so glad we went. We cannot stop telling people about it.
I cannot really say more without spoiling it, but whether you are a resident or out of towner set aside at least 2 hours and visit this exhibit!
Note: it does get very crowded and there are a lot of kids, but just be cool and enjoy! Or go during the week for less crows. We went there right at 10am on Sunday and there was a bit of a line, but we didn’t wait longer than 10−15mins.

I’ve been to Meow Wolf twice now and I see something new every visit. You can spend a couple of hours here and feel like a kid again. The exhibit is interactive and there is no set path to follow. There are TVs with videos and head phones with audio that tell a story. Definitely a great place for all ages. The first time I went I took my parents and they loved it. I hope they turn this place into a haunted house of some sorts come Halloween time.

This feels like an impossible review to pen, because it’s an impossible space to describe. My experience at Meow Wolf was one of the most memorable journeys of my entire life from a sensory standpoint, and I mean every word I just wrote. Some 135 artists, financed by George RR Martin (Game of Thrones) have constructed a 20,000 square foot monument beyond comprehension — absurd, tangible, bitingly funny, obtuse, androgynous, uppity, grassroots, sly, self-​aggrandizing, mute and supersonic — that owns whatever it is that Santa Fe artistry Is. Santa Fe is This, Meow Wolf. It is. Freaks and mystiques and misnomers and relics and venturers and pirates and hermits and futurists and folks who have suffered the wrath of such things live here. Meow Wolf is easily my favorite haunt in this city.
There’s a narrative to the Eternal Return exhibit, apparently concerning the fictional Selig family. Go on with your bad self and sleuth it, should you care to. Most of us won’t get too cranial in this indoor Disneyland, though. Most of us will dig a climb through the fireplace or a fridge, a visit to a spaceship, a glimpse at a mad scientist’s diary, or our first head plunge into a toilet (sans water, promise). Do yourself a favor and actually watch a few moments of the faux shopping network footage on the living room TV, I couldn’t stop laughing. Around here, humor is sparse, outlandish and devilishly smart, certainly surreal.
Okay, a few basics: any kid, or kid at heart, will love this place. You best be mobile, prepare to bend and twist, particularly because the crowds right now are steep (we waited 20 minutes to get in). Bonus for the ‘rents: a separate craft activity room. Bonus for the geeks: a separate makerspace. Bonus for New Mexican school kids: Their educational outreach program, CHIMERA, seems like an exceptional collaborative arts effort.
And one final note. Once you visit, you’ll know what I’m saying, here. It’s outright trippy. The audio is all over the place, music over here, bits and blurbs over there, you’re going down the rabbit hole and hanging with Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. Which is the reason I can’t begin to describe this experience. Beware the owlish wanderer. Yeah, I think I’ll leave it at that. Beware the owlish wanderer.

Absolutely incredible. I experienced awe and wonder that I haven’t felt since I was a small child. It’s unlike any installation I’ve experienced and is rich with material to be explored. I was there for 3 hours, which was enough to get a full but not a complete sense of the place. It will very much reward multiple viewings.
Don’t read too much about it and go early in the morning (they open at 10:00) for the best experience. It’s good for kids but some of it was rather scary — it would be easy to lose one another and there are also many opportunities to get hurt if you aren’t paying attention.

We had the great fortune of visiting during opening weekend. What an impressive place. This experience was completely immersive. The level of detail in every little nook and cranny was amazing. There is a nice storyline that goes underneath the whole space, and it is clear a lot of time and care was put into it. I won’t give spoilers though; visit for yourself. It’s clear that you could visit many many times and discover something new each visit.
The experience is quite unique. It is something of a science fiction version of the St Louis City Museum. But I’ve said enough and you’ve read enough. Go and visit!
