Accent On Vision

I was surprised by this business’s policies and procedures, and not pleasantly.
Let me begin by saying that all of the staff were very friendly and informative, however my time there was marked with a few experiences that were not congruent with this atmosphere.
For starters… waiting and transitions. Besides the first wait to be called in to my appointment, I was left alone and waiting for the next practitioner three more times. Once for 10 – 15 minutes for the «doctor» in an exam room, once for 7 minutes near the frame selection for an «optometrist,» and again in the exam room for 5 – 10 minutes for the doctor. This seems excessive.
Secondly, procedures around purchasing frames… I was directed to explore and choose frames JUST AFTER my pupils were dialated. About three minutes in my eyes began to hurt and I noticed that this is the worst room to be in when my pupils are dialated, there are lights everywhere to show off the products. I would HIGHLY suggest they do not send patients with pupils dialated into this room, how inconsiderate! … Next I did not notice until after I had left that I LEFT WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION. This has never happened to me before, even if I do plan on purchasing frames from a doctor. I would like to be provided with my own health information.
So, after two hours spent at Accent on Vision, I was finally given the go-​ahead to leave and cross my fingers that when I do return for frames (or just the prescription), my experience will improve. To be continued…

I really didn’t care for my entire experience. The staff is just so-​so. They are not too interested in personalized service. Instead of matching up their customers by name they do it by your birthdate. Sort of indifferent, more like a doctor’s office. Left me a bit cold. Their price structure verges on being a rip off. I ordered some glasses (silhouettes) that nearly cost twice what I paid in Texas for the exact same thing. The eye exam too was way more than I ever paid (and the doctor was just a optometrist and not a ophthalmologist; big difference. The glasses I received were correctly filled so no qualms there. My wife mentioned to the doctor that several of the medications in the exam room were expired but the doctor mostly shrugged it off. Don’t know if they were pulled or not. It is now going on three weeks and her lenses are not back. She gave them her old frames to simply refill. Not sure what’s going on with them. She’s called numerous times and does not get any call-​backs as to their whereabouts. Not very good follow through by the staff. Bottom line: we won’t be going back to Accent on Vision in the future. Not sure why they stay so busy. Maybe there just isn’t much choice in Santa Fe.

Alright I’m not sure why the other review is calling the staff out for being incompetent (especially when the reviewer wrote it with plenty of misspellings and grammatical errors to begin with). The staff was nothing but more than accommodating to me. I was in town for my brother’s wedding, so I’m by no means a local. My eyes were so irritated and bloodshot from the dry air that I needed something to relieve their dryness right away before pictures got taken. They were able to get me an appointment within an hour of calling (brother’s wedding was the same day). My doctor (Dr. Thibodeaux) was on time, EXTREMELY thorough and helpful with instructions on how to relieve my irritation. He even let my boyfriend look through the optics to teach us a few things. I only wish he could be my doctor back at home. I would be more than happy to recommend this place as they were beyond professional and friendly, not to mention saving me a trip to the pharmacy by hooking me up with a few of their samples. Highly, highly recommend.
