El Monte RV Rentals & Sales

When you google El Monte RV they show you several locations. When you call them and talk to the people in the parts department after calling a certain phone number linked up to that particular location you would think you would be calling the correct place. I arrive to there 7^th Street location today to find out it is just a hotel. This is just a pickup location where they get their customers to take them back to the yard. Would have been nice at the website told me that.

My family hired an RV for thanksgiving and none of the electrics worked due to a faulty auxiliary battery. So we spent the entire trip without any heating or electricity. When we went to return the vehicle the staff person lacked in customer service and we didn’t feel that our concerns were taken seriously.

These idiots do not put the mileage of their RV’s on their for sale listings because they all have SUPER HIGH MILEAGE!
I consider this an attempt to hide something right form the start.
DO NOT PATRONIZE DEALERS THAT HIDE FACTS!

This place is SOOOOOOOOOO far from LAX. I’m not sure why anyone would consider this an airport location?! They do have a shuttle, but it takes about an hour each way and costs $ 30 round trip, per person. Also, it is not in the best neighborhood. Check-​in will take some time, especially if you are a first-​time renter, as they will make you watch a video (which is actually helpful). The staff was friendly enough, however, they do throw some sneaky charges at you, last minute. They will make you purchase their insurance (for example) if you don’t have a certain form from your insurance, stating that you are covered. Whatever you do, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU GET NEAR THE DROP OFF LOCATION TO FUEL UP! The nearby gas stations charge about $ 5/​gallon. When you return the vehicle, they will «top off» the fuel when you check back in. As long as your gauge says full, they usually won’t charge you for the top-​off gas. Also, as long as the vehicle is cleared of garbage, they will not charge a cleaning fee. Our RV had a ton of mud on the floor and they didn’t take any of our deposit.

El monte Rv Santa fe Springs, the worst company I have ever patronized,. I rented a Rv from this location and its was a horrible experience the Rv Ac didnt work, Generator kept cutting off, it lost all power we had no lights or refrigerator all my food spoiled. And they didnt send any help until the 4^th day of my trip, the problem started when I got the Rv the first day. The General Manager Tim is no help to his customers, or Nancy the assistant Manager, I was not compensated fairly and they deserve to be shut down.

Highly recommend — from our first meeting with Jim to reserve our RV until return/​check-​in with Nancy everyone was GREAT! Especially a gentlemen that helped me get a replace key to the generator — we broke it and with the weekend rapidly approaching it was really important to us — I wish I could remember his name — Thank You to ALL
BTW — a very pet friendly company too!

I rented an RV for the first time in my life from El Monte RV rentals, so that I could drive my 90 year old mother to Oregon to see her brother. Both Kelly and Teri made this experience of renting the right RV a breeze. I was given a beautiful new 2015 Ford fully loaded with leather seating and a large awning, that worked absolutely perfectly on this long drive. My mother enjoyed every moment of her trip, in large part because of the care and attention to details that we received at El Monte RV to get the right motorhome for her comfort and also for my limited RV driving experience. I just can’t recommend these women highly enough! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

El Monte RV is where we bought our first RV, a Class C Fourwinds 28A Château Sport. This RV was a previous rental with a little over 90k miles on it. Our salesperson, John Root, was super patient and helpful. We visited the lot at least 3 times to look around, test drive, inspect, and ultimately buy our RV.
We took our RV across the country over the summer and one of our rear tires blew out in the middle of the dessert. Fortunately, we had roadside assistance service from our insurance company which was able to load our RV on a flatbed truck and take us to a tire shop. Upon further inspection of our tires, it looked like all four rear tires needed to be replaced.
When this happened, we called El Monte RV to explain the situation and they offered to look into the issue, because when we bought the RV, they promised that the tires should have at least 20k miles of life on them. A few days after sending them pictures and receipts for the replacement tires, we received a check in the mail for the replacement cost of the tires.
I was pleasantly surprised that El Monte helped us out without making a big deal of things.
When we upgrade our RV, El Monte will definitely be where we go first!

Why do you want to rent an RV anyway? You enjoy moving your hotel room down the highway? You will get 3 miles per gallon, be rocked by the wind, and be stuck in your lane because changing lanes is a major challenge compared to your car.
My rental from El Monte Santa Fe Springs was a nightmare. I had no running water, electricity, or underneath storage that would stay secured. I was handed a dozen keys to various locks and compartments, none of which were identified in any way, so it was trial and error every time. The steps would not stay up, the drivers seat was stuck in one bolt upright position for 12+ hours of driving, and there was no AM/​FM radio. The truck runs at 3500 rpm at highway speed, so the interior noise was horrific, preventing conversation with the shotgun seat. At return, they moved our RV away before we were done unloading. No one asked us beforehand. That was another lost half hour.
The manager Tim is incompetent and should be replaced immediately. He hides behind the contract that you sign before you leave. He charged me $ 7000 despite returning the RV one day early and could care less about my troubles.

I have rented from El Monte for a few years always had good experience, except this year. The black water tank was ²⁄₃ full which I didn’t realize until I was already gone. Unit had blown fuses which caused outlets not to work. The emergency number was helpful and got us working but the why wasn’t these things checked before the RV was released. The other issue was the security deposit it was taken from my account but not returned to my account when returned. I called and was told oh it takes 7 – 10 days to get it back. Waited the 10 days and called and was told it was my bank that was the issue. Called my bank and they told me no not them. Then I was told by El Monte sorry it was our error and it will be another 7 – 10 days before the security deposit comes. I asked for a manager call back never got one.
I should have been refunded that day not 7 – 10 days more of a wait.

My husband and I have been renting from El Monte RV for many years and feel the convenience along with great customer service is worth coming back to every year. Quick and easy with no hassle or delays.

Tim, the General Manager, was extremely helpful in getting our RV rental handled as smooth as possible. We were in a tough spot with the holiday weekend but he went above and beyond to make sure we left happy. Will definitely be back.

Be forewarned about this company and there deceptive tactics. I rented an RV a couple of years ago and got stranded with my family. After calling the emergency number and speaking with the general manager who by the way is in Florida location now I was temporarily on my way. Once the problems got addressed I returned the busted run down 36 foot garbage to El Monte RV with not even a concern from the staff. Finally I called General Manager to address my dissatisfaction and he promised my family free rentals going forward.
So here we are calling to make good and the staff wouldn’t even put the new General Manager on the phone. This place is very poorly run and the staff is rude and unprofessional.

I have now rented at three of their locations and have found their service to be good at all locations. Staff were friendly and helpful on getting me ready for my road trip. The RVs were clean and comfortable. Pay the extra fees up front to save and to allow them to empty the sewer tanks. Trust me, you do not want to empty it yourself unless you are on a long trip. Overall, good company to rent an RV to have an enjoyable family outing. You will not want to sleep in a tent after your rent an RV.

They would get 5 stars, but the drive to SFSprings is a bit long from LAX area…

This review is strictly for reserving the RV with Santa Fe Springs office in person.
As a fellow Unilocaler, I always check reviews beforehand to avoid any surprises. I was very discouraged by all the terrible reviews posted on Unilocal but hubby still wanted to give it a try so we picked the more popular location, Santa Fe Springs.
Since it’s our first time ever renting a RV, we decided to personally visit El Monte RV Rentals instead of reserving online. We went there on Saturday afternoon around 3pm without an appointment and we were quickly helped by Amanda.
We knew we wanted a 25 ft Class C Slide-​out Cabover Style so we asked Amanda to provide a quote for it. Since it’s Spring break week, they required a minimum of 5 nights rental. After she provided the quote, we asked her if we can look at a comparable RV and she happily obliged. She patiently answered all of our concerns and let us explored the comparable RV at our own pace.
Our main concern is the year of the RV and Amanda said slide-​out can range from 2008 to 2011. She also mentioned that the non slide-​out ranges from 2008 to 2015 so we might have a better chance of getting a newer model. With that in mind, we asked her to provide a quote for the non slide-​out and it turned out to be cheaper as well.
We were planning to visit other rental companies before but hubby decided to rent with El Monte RV because Amanda was very courteous and helpful =^_^=

When they post a open time of 8am you would think a sales person would be here. We drive 1.5 hours to get here when they opened and where told a salesperson should be here between 8:30 and 9am. We wasted time POST YOUR REAL HOURS!

Worst rv rental I have ever dealt with. I thought a well known name would be the way to do it but boy I was wrong. With all the troubles they offered us a 25.00 refund after I spent over 700. I didn’t take the refund because they must need it. I hope no one else suffers and rents from this company.

Once you step into the office you know you will be taken care of. It’s very clean and organized. The Staff was helpful and friendly as well.
We were taken out to the RV for our walk around and went through every detail on how to operate it. Of course, there is so much to learn we had to refer to the manual many times throughout our trip to make sure we were doing things right.
We took our 25 foot RV to Santa Cruz, Big Sur and Yosemite… WHAT A GREAT TRIP! And to do it in an RV was awesome! One thing I felt secure in was there were El Monte rental companies around the area so if something was to go wrong we could always count on them to come to our rescue.
Bringing the RV back was pretty easy. There were two things that broke during our trip, but was not our fault. The guy checking us out agreed and we left with a smile on our face.
Would totally recommend RVing! It’s a great way to see the world!
I would have given El Monte 5 Stars if they would have better competitive prices. There are a lot of Rental Companies out there and El Monte being one of the biggest I would think the price would be a little cheaper. But, you are paying for the service that you may not get with other companies.

My mom rented an RV from this place this past weekend so that she had a place to stay while her house was being fumigated. Needless to say, staying at a sleazy crack motel would have been a more pleasant experience than what she has had to endure.
When we went to pick up the RV she rented on Sunday (a 25′ motor home,) we were quickly told that they had upgraded her (for free) to a 28′ RV since non of the 25′ rentals had been returned. Fine so far; hoping that there isn’t an additional charge I find on the papers when we take it back in an hour.
We were told to wait 10 minutes in the RV for someone to come do a walk through with us. We waited for 40 minutes inside this piece of crap, in the heat, and when some guy came to the window to «greet» us, his whole demeanor made us feel incredibly uncomfortable; like we were interrupting his day and wasting his time.
He took us around the RV and pointed out all the damage and took notes while I snapped pictures of the damaged areas on my iPhone. Well, he forgot the huge dent on the front bumper, which I have pictures of on my phone.
Now, here’s where the nightmare begins. When we brought the RV to her house, we attempted numerous times to attach their cord to the house to run electricity straight from the house to the unit. 10 blown fuses later, we called customer service and we’re told «oh your house electrical current isn’t strong enough to generate power to the RV.» Wtf. The gal that did our paperwork said it wouldn’t be an issue.
So we tried running the generator, just to have some power for the tv so she wouldn’t have to sit and stare at a wall for three days. Generator worked, but was so loud you couldn’t hear the tv on full blast.
Now, another issue regarding the generator. Same gal that did the paperwork said we could run the generator until it ran out of gas. WRONG!!! Customer service said we could only run the generator for THREE HOURS until it would BLOW UP! Ridiculous!!!
So, my mother has had an awful experience with this place and I personally will never, ever recommend El Monte RV to anyone. I can’t wait to get back there today to drop this off and hear what kind of excuses we’ll get.
