SunPower by Green Convergence

I can only say very positive things about SunPower by Green Convergence. From the initial contact with the sales staff, to the engineering, and finally to the installation, everything was done professionally and made putting solar on my home very easy. I believe there are a lot of fly by night solar companies out there but this is not one of them. The product is superior to everything else out there and the installation methodology is great. By removing tile and installing new roofing materials, there will be on leaks and this installation is ascetically pleasing. I highly recommend looking at this company if you are looking to add solar power to your home or business.

We were so fortunate to have our solar installation by Green convergence. My husband did his research for a long time. Interviewed some, read up on others and chatted with neighbors with solar. We were so impressed from the time we met Mark to the time they finished and commissioned the project earlier than anticipated. There was never anything left in the yard to indicate work was being done. It was so seamless that we forgot we had construction on the roof! For solar, it doesn’t get any better than Sunpower with Green Convergence. We have a weekly radio show and put numerous solar companies to the test with multiple interviews and research and by far Sunpower panels and the service we received from Mark Figearo and his crew were top notch. The installation was seamless and everyone was polite and courteous, no ugly pipes or wires, low profile and the most efficient panels made by far. The absolute best! I did a lot of solar research, purchase, lease, power purchase agreements. I spoke to many companies including Verengo, Peterson Dean and a few others. I spoke to neighbors in the area to get their opinions. I asked everyone the same questions, apples to apples. I finally selected Sunpower by Green Convergence because they offer a superior product, the best customer service and most of all because they were HONEST. Each and every dealer I spoke to was trying to push me into solar telling me that if I did not do it now, I would not get the 30% tax rebate on a purchase and also the net metering would not be available. Sam helped me and I’m glad he did. I never felt pushed or pressured. He is very good at explaining and at their show room you actually see the panels, different types of installations, powerpoint show. Sunpower sells itself. No They are not paying me to say any of this. Sam explained the non painful process and it was exactly how he said it would be. The project manager Debbie was great. They are always giving you updates and staying in touch. the crew is very efficient. They left the place clean, did the necessary paint touchups. My solar looks Better than all of my neighbors, with a low profile installation, no conduits shown, all connections are in the attic and are brought down to the garage. The purchase is more affordable than you think. Power purchase agreements keep going up each year. when you pay off the solar, it is yours. The panels are the best out their and their warranty is also. Warranties are very important. I asked each of the other companies for their warranties before speaking with them. Read the fine print. many require you to pay deductibles to remove bad panels and reinstall fees. Sunpower’s warranty was very straight forward. I have a system with a 25 year warranty. I have a very affordable 3% loan for 12 years. After that, I should have over a decade of trouble free, warranty covered power at no cost since the system is paid off. The process with the inspectors was painless. They have a great relationship with the inspectors which helps get it done fast. Less than a week after installation, I had my permission to Operate, I’m producing solar. I will highly recommend Sunpower by Green Convergence to anyone interested in solar. As a consumer, don’t wait, So. Cal. Edison and the PCU are going to make solar less attractive in the future with more fees for solar owners. Look into it now. I was never a solar person, but after doing the reaearch on cost of power for the next 25 years with the annual increases from SCE, and the power purchase agreement companies, It was a no brainer to purchase.

I was in need of an estimate for some work that we needed done on our roof. I saw all of these great reviews and so I gave them a call. They called me back in less than 5 hours and they were at my house the next day. The fix was quick and the guys that came out were extremely efficient and polite. I would certainly recommend them!

Let me start by saying I’m a research junkie, also known as a tech Nerd.
I dug far and wide in all the search engines and educated myself before taking the plunge.
What I found is this; solar is not a one size fits all business. The other thing I found out is that there are some massive marketing companies in this field” good and bad I guess”.
Here are the things that are critical to evaluate
1. The tax credit: do you really need it (can you truly leverage it)
2. Financing: This is critical and where most people make mistakes
3. Panel Quality: cheap Chinese panels are available however they lose efficiency quickly eroding your savings.
4. Aesthetics: OMG some companies do a Hideous job in this department.
5. Professionalism: Only you can make this decision — most companies have high pressure sales tactics — uggghhh this is the worst part solar companies are like bill collectors it borders on harassment.
6. What does your solar company know abbout roofing? (the number 1 failure in solar installs)
7. etc etc.etc.
There is so much more I went into that would bore you if I kept writing.
Here is the bottom line.
Green Convergence is a professional local full service company that took their time, moved at my speed. They answered all the questions I had and provided a fair competitive price for the best quality panels by Sunpower and multiple financing options. They also have the best recessed low profile installation with a 50 yr Owens Corning roofing warranty. This company has now helped me and 2 others I referred we are all very happy with the service we received. I highly recommend them Mark and his team are top notch

If you are looking for solar this is the only place you need to look. I have been searching for companies to put solar in my house and by far i don’t think anyone can do such a great job like Green Convergence. My install went as planned and the quality of the installation was outstanding. I am a very picky person and everything they did was nice and neat. They covered my pool and cleaned up everyday they worked. All of there employees are very professional and polite.

Green Convergence did a full roof and solar install, and these guys were amazing. Everything was clearly communicated, prompt, and very efficient. I couldn’t be happier with their work and professionalism.

I’m not even sure where to start talking about the absolutely phenomenal service that I received from Green Convergence. About a year ago I started looking at doing solar for my house that I had purchased. Unfortunately at that time, I just didn’t have enough history to make the financial aspects make sense to do a full solar install. Then randomly I got a follow up call about 3 months ago just to say hi and see if I was interested in possibly looking at solar again. I told the person (Trevor) who called that he was welcome to put the numbers together, but that it likely still wouldn’t make sense but he was good to try anyway :)
That’s where my amazing experience really started. I sent them my updated usage numbers and within hours I had a new estimate from them. We went back and forth and looked at different options to make the financials make sense, and we actually did. What’s more than that my WIFE agreed that the financials made sense. She’s an accountant/​book keeper type so making her agree can be a challenge. Trevor answered every single call I made to him and promised me that they would work to get my project done as soon as possible.
My solar panels showed up quicker than expected, they sent a team out to install my EV car charger before anything else, to make sure I could get the rebate from LADWP, fixed some additional items in my garage (for a VERY reasonable cost) that the City inspector called out, that weren’t even something that they were responsible for. They had my panels and all the work done in a matter of 3 days and then inspected and ready to go quickly.
I shopped around and I got quotes from multiple companies and I will tell you this, I have never worked with a company as professional and willing to work with their customers as Green Convergence. I found out that this is a family run company, and trust me when I tell you it shows, even their crews said they were treated like part of the family. Since my solar system has been turned on and energized by the city of LA, I walk outside every day and watch to see my energy usage flowing back to the grid :) Thank you guys so much for not only getting the job done, but doing it right, the first time, quickly and with such professionalism!!!

OK, so this company is amazing with a capital «A»!!! Don’t get your solar from anyone else! My husband and I did months of research and obtained 5 different quotes for solar. We are SUPER thorough and a little OCD :)…
Some companies used the Japanese panels and others use the Guinness Book of World Records holder for most efficient panel — Sun Power panels. (just sayin). The Sun Power panels are also made in America, but am getting side tracked…
Lamar and James are amazing. We have a LARGE system…42 panels to be exact and three inverters and it looks great! The install crew was top notch, great to work with, and their work was clean and precise. This company is also a roofing company so you can feel good about them drilling holes in your roof and it not springing a leak. We get compliments on our solar all the time! We have referred two friends to Green Convergence and they are thrilled as well. Give Lamar a call and he will walk you through the whole thing!

I cannot say enough good things about Green Convergence and the job they did on my home. Not only did we have 24 SunPower SPR-E20−327 panels expertly installed on our roof, but we also had them re-​paper the roof as well. Since our cement tile roof was 17 years old, I figured it was a good idea to have it re-​papered at the same time as installing the solar. I wanted a company that could do both at the same time, so I needed a roofing AND solar company.
I was very impressed with the presentation and analysis provided by Jeff Figearo, our sales representative (more on him later). I also interviewed and obtained an estimate from another roofing and solar company who advertises about owning your own system on TV (name omitted, but you probably know who). Let’s just say that the other company wanted/​needed to install 46 panels on my roof just to come close to the same estimated level of power generation as Green Convergence was going to get from 24 panels, for about the same money.
The work was done so quickly and efficiently, I was blown away. Not only that, but they really cleaned up after themselves. The inverter is in my garage exactly where I wanted it, and I am really having fun checking my production on the iPhone App.
Not only did Jeff act as our sales rep, but he kept in touch throughout the process to ensure that we were happy. The entire team at GC (especially our project manager, Debbie) were great and we highly recommend them.

First off-​know that I am PICKY! Most contractors who have worked at my house probably hate me because if they don’t do a good job I call them out on it (and do my homework so I know if they are doing a crappy job) I don’t think I have EVER in all my years as a homeowner had a job go so quickly and easily as my solar installation buy Green Convergence– they are amazing! I had twenty-​one, 327W panels installed 5÷18÷15. I interviewed EIGHT companies before I selected GC and I am so glad I did! Great people, superior product reputation, great review feedback, plus two other things that tipped the scales in their favor: the 12 month no interest ITC loan option and the fact that they run all conduit internally and use a 2″ high mounting bracket system that is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye
The good stuff:
1) Comments from the neighbors «We saw the sign– you’re getting solar?»
Me: «Look again– I GOT solar– the panels are so flush and sleek you don’t even notice them against my grey roof»
Neighbors: «wowwwwwwwwww»
2) Only took two weeks to get my PTO and the panels produce a lot even on partly cloudy days
3) Their electrician installed my car charger while he was there
4) They are safety-​conscious perfectionists… it was raining on the day of my installation– foreman Chase would get them off the roof as soon as it looked dangerous and had them back up as soon as it dried off. Given that it was slippery/​dangerous, I told them they could run the conduit external if they wanted to save time and effort. Nope– even offered a shortcut, they wouldn’t take it– all conduit is run inside the walls and attics. They even dropped into the hard to get to attic thru the roof to save me a mess in my house– then drove 100 miles to get matching shingles for the roof to close it up and make it perfect
5) The inverter in the garage is in a cool, shaded location and installed PERFECTLY
6) I found ZERO nails and only one bolt on the ground anywhere
7) They brought juice, coffee and bagels the first day for everybody
8) The way they hunted down the discontinued shingles to match my (one year old) roof illustrated perfectly their dedication to perfection– it is not often I am surprised by good service… but that WAS really above and beyond
9) Communication was constant– I never felt out of the loop and they bent over backwards to keep me informed with what was going on
They were speedy, efficient, excellent, polite, punctual, clean… you name it! Everything was done PERFECTLY and in my experience that never, ever happens!

This company is really great. I am a truly satisfied customer. Lots of companies will sell or lease you solar panels. Some may have good service and others not. Some may use high quality panels and inverters and others may not. Some may have knowledgeable and friendly staff and others may not. You get it all with Green Convergence.
I initially contacted Green Convergence on a friend’s recommendation. What initially made me more comfortable was that GC is really a roofing company, not electricians. We have a relatively new lightweight composite tile roof. These roofing tiles are very fragile. I had no interest in electricians walking around on my roof for days installing the system. I wanted real roofers that could minimize any damage and repair anything so that my house would continue to look great and be watertight.
Green Convergence does so many things the right way if you’re a homeowner who is interested not just in making cheap electricity, but also in keeping the appearance of your house as beautiful as possible. First off, they don’t just come by and slap a bunch of panels on rails on top of your roof in a single day. They take their time, moving roof vents so that the panels won’t end up looking like a checkerboard, removing the existing roofing material where the panels will go, making that roof structurally sound watertight, and then laying down the rails and panels. This has the effect of «recessing» the panels into the roof for a much better cosmetic experience. GC’s electricians run all of the conduit for the panels through the attic and inside the walls, again taking their time, so that you don’t see yards and yards of electrical conduit outside on the roof and running down the sides of the house. Likewise, they use the highest quality and efficiency American made panels and inverters rather than the other stuff from China. The team that took care of me was really great to work with through the entire process, from salesman Nick, roofer Chase, electrician’s Miguel and Pablo, project manager Kevin, all the way to owner DJ and the DOZENS of other guys who’s names I’ve missed. Everyone was reachable by email, cell, whatever means necessary and they always kept me in the loop. I know I can be a challenge to work with because I’m a «why» person and very nosy (not to mention demanding in that I want high quality work) and they kept me informed, answered my questions, and clearly treated my property with respect. At the end of the project they even installed a couple of 220 volt electrical outlets in my garage so that I can easily install electric car charging stations in the future without needing to pay another electrician to come and do it.
If you want the job to be done cheaply and quickly, Green Convergence is not the right company for you. If you don’t really care about the appearance of your house, then Green Convergence isn’t the right company for you. If you don’t care about high quality panels and inverters, well, you know…
You get what you pay for. The money that the system costs eventually will find it’s way back in to your pocket in the future with all of the savings on electricity that you will see and the immediate increase in value of your home. Other companies can do it for cheaper, but I’d be surprised if anyone can do it better.

I am not sure why anyone would leave negative feedback for Green Convergence. I shopped solar for over two years before I encountered this business. From Alex’s sales and ROI presentation to Chase and the installation team GC has been in complete contact, start to finish.
The project managers Kevin and Debbie have kept us up to date throughout the installation process. The install was clean and executed to what was planned. The team was respectful and prompt. We are now awaiting final approval from the city and unlimited energy from the sun.
We have referred Green Convergence to several friends. They are now in process of installing their solar solutions.
A++++ and a LOCAL COMPANY. Panels made in the USA too!

Don’t waste your time. Too many people who don’t have authority to do anything and the owner doesn’t give a damn.
I notified the owner D.J., about some poor business practices from his employees ie missed appointment, information not sent when promised. He seemed concerned and said I should contact him if there was any problem. So when I reviewed their contract with the intention to sign, I contacted him about some language that was too vague ie «…for smaller projects…» (define a small project) «…upon verbal or written notice…» (all notices should be in writing to document change), he passed me off to 2 other employees (partners?), who refused to make any changes to the contract.
I read the contract from 3 different solar companies. Green Convergence was the worst. It swayed too much in their favor. I signed a contract with another company whose contract was clear and simple.
NOTE TO CONSUMER: It’s not true when a company says they cannot change a contract. They wrote it, they can change it. It’s not written in stone. Go for what you want. There’s a lot of solar companies that want your money so make them work for you.

We had our Sun Power solar panels by Green Convergence installed last spring. We did our research and talked to other people. The tactics some of them used were that of a used car salesman. Not at Green Convergence. They were so unbelievably professional. They have a beautiful showroom. They came to our home in a timely manner. They answered all our questions for us and informed us of every purchasing/​leasing option available. They even did a shade study on our roof. We were so impressed with their knowledge and professionalism we decided to use them. We are so happy we did. Every person we dealt with from owners to coordinators to installers did their job and did it right. The install is clean and looks great and we have been happy with it from day one. We are saving lots of money on our electric bill and are so happy with our choice of Green Convergence!

In Oct 2011, we decided the time as right to go Solar. In doing research, we found that the SunPower solar panels were the best value providing an efficiency rating of 18 where other companies were at 15. We also decided that a lease provided the best value because other than monthly lease payments, the responsibility for maintenance rested with SunPower. We determined we wanted a 100% system at 7.3kW.
We called Mark at Green Convergence and he came back with a 7.4kW system recommendation. We knew we were on the same page. We also needed to replace our 25 year old roof. Green Convergence also has a roofing division, and DJ gave us a reasonable quote for the top of the line materials we wanted.
They were able to start work in January. First with the roof. Outstanding job of keeping things nice and clean around the house while they worked. Once that was done, then it came time for the solar. In both cases, we found that their attention to detail in maintaining a clean work site, and doing top notch quality work were great. We had them do some additional work such as electrical and solar light tubes. The quality of their work and materials were again, top notch. An example of their quality work is that all of the interconnection lines for the panels are done inside the attic so we don’t have unsightly grey boxes on our roof. The connection to the Inverter, which is mounted inside the garage, is neatly run in conduit and into walls to remain out if sight.
After 2 years of operation, our Average monthly SCE bill went from $ 250 to $ 20 plus lease cost, which is still less then our Average monthly bill. (BTW, 6 months after the system was installed, we had a small pool put in. We run the pumps during the peak of the day since the solar system provides all the power.) Because of our pool, our solar system is providing about 95% of our total power. Even with the pumps running, the electric meter still runs backwards.
We couldn’t be happier with the Quality, Craftsmanship and Efficiency of our SunPower system by Green Convergence. Everyone we dealt with at Green Convergence treated us like we were family members. We felt we were dealing with a Highly Reputable group of people and Highly Recommend them to everyone interested in going solar. SunPower by Green Convergence truly provides Value!

OK, so I was telephone scammed by a telemarketer that was not from Green Convergence at all, one of the company founders reached out to me about my concern right away. It was determined that the telephone people are not part of
this company at all. I appreciate the concern to address the problem in such a timely manner and apologize for the erroneous poor review.

Green Convergence installed my solar about a year ago, and I couldn’t be happier. Mark was so informative from the very beginning, and helped me to understand the benefits of the technology, as well as educating me about the value of their style of installation compared to others. Very high information, low pressure.
Once we signed, I found every single person to be professional, from the office workers to the installers and supervisors. They were honest and on top of things from the start, and even educated me afterward about ways we could even conserve more and be more energy efficient. He even got up on a chair and demonstrated how to change a canned light fixture!
I now look around at other installations and see so many that lack the quality that Green Convergence provides. The installation is so good that sales people still come by my house to sell us solar! I firmly believe that we selected the best solar company for our house, and it was great keeping our business in Santa Clarita. If I had another house, they’d be doing that one, too, and I hope to have them install for my business in the future. As a bonus, they really give back to the community, too.
It is not just about installing solar, that is kind of a no-​brainer in California, but it is about the experience and quality of who installs it. You won’t go wrong if you pick Green Convergence.
