Smart Start of California Ignition Interlock

This is the WORST place to get your interlock device. They have no contracts and have ridiculous fees an if you want to speak to customer service be prepared to be on hold for at least 1hour. An when they advise you they will get back to you for whatever issue it may be, they do nothing and know nothing! With that said, begin you’re journey of endless calls to a horrible experience .Good luck an BEWARE!

Worst customer service ever!!! They never notate anything in your account then call you a liar and don’t honor what they say they will do. There units constantly have issues and techs are rude and treat you like a moron. Do not go with this company!!! Their device makes you hum and there are companies where you don’t have to do this.

I received my 2^nd DUI in November of last year. In order to be able to drive again the DMV told me I had to install a breathalyzer. Let me just say, I didn’t even know where to begin. I started doing some research online and I came across this company called Smart Start. They were having a real deal so I decided to give them a try.
From the moment I called, I had a very friendly representative kinda guide me on how to go about the whole process. She made it so much easier than I would have done myself. She set me up with an appointment to my nearest location which was the one in Santa Clarita. When I arrived at my appointment at the shop I was greeted by one of the technicians and they starting working on my car right away. After they installed it, they went over the blowing technique with me. I have having trouble getting it right at first so I really did appreciate their patience with me. I am totally not looking forward to having this thing in my car for a whole year but I’m glad I went with this company and location. One less thing to worry about!

I was a little nervous and confused about the whole breathalyzer process but when I got to the shop, the staff cleared it all up for me! They walked me thru the process and helped me understand how to use the breathalyzer. It’s really not as hard as you think it is once you get the hang of it.
The technicians are fast and friendly. I’ll definitely be going there for all my services.

I was so confused about the process of getting an Ignition Interlock and my license back, but Smart Start helped me do both, and although I’m not thrilled that I have to have this thing, I’m glad I went with them! They were very accommodating to my schedule, as well.

Had such a great experience with my ignition installation. The staff was friendly and answered all my questions. They spent the time to train me on how to use the machine and even gave me their personal numbers in case I had any issues. I’m so glad I chose this shop!
