Dan the Honda Man is what they call him for good reason! He works by himself and is super busy but is a master at what he does. While I was there 2 workers from other repair shops came over asking for trouble shooting tips; and you can tell that he has the knowledge and expertise to do things right the first time. I guess you have to be good to be a small business owner that has been in business in the same place for 20 years.
Save money and help support local business owners in SCV. Do yourself a favor and go to the dealer listen to their shtick and then go talk to Dan the Honda Man, he gave it to me straight and said the dealer was trying to screw me out of $ 800 in repairs not needed.
I continue to have all my work done here and send all my friends and family to Dan; everyone loves going to see him and his little shop manager «Ollie» (puppy in charge”.

Dan is a nice guy and an great mechanic. He is no nonsense — his pricing is very fair. He doesn’t try to sell you stuff you don’t need — and he is good about finding the best prices on parts. When I moved here from WA, I was bummed to leave my excellent mechanic behind. Good mechanics are hard to come by. Dan was highly recommended and I am really glad I called. He has been working on my Honda’s (pilot and odyssey) for 3 years now. Thanks Dan.

Needed to get my CR-​V tuned up and the front brakes done. Was recommended to Advanced Imports by a friend who insisted Dan was the best for Honda in the SCV, and would treat me right. Needless to say, the advice was spot on.
Dan is helpful, honest, and trustworthy. If you’re like me, that’s a huge deal when it comes to car mechanics — I know nothing, and I usually feel like they could tell me just about anything and I’d be helpless. Instead, Dan walked me through what I needed, what was necessary and what we could check. We were overdue for the check-​up, and it was reassuring to know what we were paying for and what didn’t need to be replaced.
On top of all of this, Dan was also super fast — he got everything done in only a few hours and had my car back to me earlier than he originally estimated. I will definitely be going back for the next check-​up and would highly recommend him if you need your Honda to keep running like it should.
Quick tip — call ahead, as he is in demand, and cannot always take walk-​up business.

I brought in to him my 2001 Honda Civic which needed brakes and also was making a loud noise. Within a short amount of time he diagnosed the problem which was the the air conditioning.
Dan gave us the best prices for everything needed and also was so patient and kind to answer all of our questions, and give his expert advise. The car is running like a top and all because of Dan! Excellent and professional service seasoned with helpfulness, patience and kindness.

Yes there is a reason he is called Dan the Honda Man … he is by far the BEST and HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY Mechanic you can find. He is a Real Good Guy. When I moved to the Santa Clarita valley in 2010 I needed a great Honda mechanic and I asked one of my car nut best friends who was good, trusted and highly recommended. Its Dan Vels or as he is called «Dan the Honda Man «. I had to do a google search to find him but it was worth it. I have not been disappointed and Dan has my 100% trust. I use him for My Accord and my Wife’s Pilot. He doesn’t overcharge. He is on time and he is a straight shooter. He tells me what I need to fix or what I can get away with and what I can wait on. A Real good guy. Highly recommended. You can also tell I am not alone in that his customers are usually waiting for him to open, know him by name, you can tell they are long time customers and they trust him too. If only he was open on weekends but they guy works hard and needs days off !!! You won’t be disappointed and you will definitely make him your mechanic.
He is a Honda specialist and Acura too.

«Dan the Honda Man» is the best Honda mechanic in the SCV or even the SFV. Taken my civic there several times and have never regretted it. I have regretted going to the dealership or other shops off Ruether Ave. Save your self a headache and go see Dan. He’s a very busy man (because he’s good) and a little pricey (also because he’s good) but the old adage you get what you pay for rings true. In a trade full of scoundrels he’s a very honest and knowledgable man.

Great service for a great price. My Honda needed some pretty hefty repairs (strut mounts, etc.) and they were able to get it done in a few hours. I contacted several other mechanics before settling on Advanced Imports, and I’m glad I did. They just slaughtered the other shops prices, I never felt like I was getting ripped off, and they were very professional.
I’ll be taking my Honda back there from now on. Five stars.

It’s so hard to find a honest and knowledgable mechanic. Advanced Imports is just that. It is such a nice feeling to have a place that will fix your car and not add unnecessary work in. I have been going to Dan with my Honda civic for 7 years. If you want to save yourself a lot of time and money, stop looking at other Honda and Acura repair sites and go to Advance Automotive. I had taken my car to 3 other repair shops and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my car. I take my car to Advance Automotive and my car was fixed and I was able to pick it up by lunch time. I have never had such an easy experience with a repair shop before.
