Santa Clarita Pediatrics

My son has been here once to see Dr. Grino (not his PCP, but Yen is no longer accepting new patients). We had a very wonderful experience at the visit and my 2.5 year old warmed up pretty quickly. The staff was very kind at the visit.
The reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of the rude experience I had over the phone with one of the medical assistants (I know she’s an MA because I looked her up on the website). I was inquiring about medical records to be either picked up or sent over to a drs office since my son has a referral with another doctor. The MA lacked customer service in that she was not kind. I can understand that a doctor’s office is busy, but when you’re on the phone with a patient’s parent, treat them with the same standards as you would if I were to have been there in person. She did inform me that I can pick up the one of records they do have, but just seemed very annoyed with that. Uh. sorry to inconvenience you for being a new patient and getting a new referral.
I called my previous dr’s office to see why they didn’t send the records over, to my surprise they did, they were going to send them over again. I called SCP again to let them know the previous office was sending the records over and got the same MA on the phone with the same attitude «we don’t like having records faxed to us because it ties up our line». okay, well is that why you didn’t get my sons records to begin with? Is someone cancelling the incoming fax… it should be the job of the office to call the other office when you request records so they know what’s going on and how you prefer to have the records received. If you’re faxing in the release of records, it is likely assumed that faxing the records is acceptable. I as the parent shouldn’t be caught playing monkey in the middle with record requests, I’m just trying to make sure that everyone is on the same page medically so nothing gets lost with treatment.
All in all, we love the doctor. She even personally called me when I did an online prescription request. I just think the people answering the phones need to remember the population they’re working with. I’d hate to have some bad attitude MA checking my son in. If they can’t have customer service with the parents they likely don’t have it with the kids.

Let me just start off by saying Dr. Yen is wonderful. Very kind. My issue with this office is the complete incompetence and blatant rudeness of the billing department. My son was born in 2014 and saw Dr. Yen for his first few months. Every visit the office took my insurance card and verified my anthem ppo. I eventually left because they just weren’t friendly at the front desk. Flash to today 1 ½ years later and I’m receiving a bill for over $ 750!!! Saying there was a «glitch» in their system and my insurance showed covered but in fact was not. I called to sort this out as surely it’s a mistake and received a message back saying sorry it was their mistake but it will be sent to collections if not paid immediately. Excuse me!!! Just spoke with the manager with her only «helpful» words being for me to call my insurance and handle it. Wow. I don’t even have this insurance anymore. I think the doctors should know how their practice is being run. Completely rude, unprofessional and quite frankly just insulting to treat previous patients like this. If they were helpful in coming to a reasonable solution I would have no problem with this but to just say «sorry» and brush it off to send to collections is not ok. I couldn’t even imagine what I’d be dealing with if I had stayed there.

Just wanted to update and let people know this is still hands down the best ever Doctor’s office. I was fit in for a same day appointment for my daughter yesterday. Had to wait 2 minutes in the waiting room and 1 minute in the exam room. The doctor apologized for the wait. Yes a whole 3 minutes from when I walked in to seeing the doctor. I would wait 30 minutes if needed for them. And the care is bar none the best.

So let me start off by saying the office staff were truly wonderful with my son and I could see that they genuinely enjoyed being there in the office. It was his first time coming here and he loved it. They have a «well» area as well as a «sick» area; which makes it very nice. There is a book section, a little table with activities and even a private nursing room (totally awesome). I loved that the rooms have everything inside of them already. To get the height/​weight/​temperature was all done in the room, so I wasn’t having to scramble around the office with a very active 1 year old. We saw Dr. Alessi and LOVED him. He was very one-​on-​one with my son, and really took the time to address any concerns I had as well as give my son the proper attention he needed to feel comfortable. The visit wasn’t a quick 5 minute rushed one, which I’ve experienced with previous pediatricians. I will definitely be using this pediatrician’s office for now on.

They are simply wonderful doctors at Santa Clarita Pediatrics. What always delights me is how attentive they are. The doctors themselves call to check on the patients the day after they have been seen. They return urgent pages within 10 minutes – unheard of in most practices. Efficient staff, pleasant and knowledgable nurses and lovely environment. The new office is spacious and clean. I couldn’t be happier. A personal note that Dr. Yen is probably the sweetest gentleman you could ever meet and Dr. Vadapalli is exceptionally brilliant.

I interviewed with several pediatric practices prior to making a decision for a pediatrician during the last few months of my pregnancy. The moment that I met Dr. Yen and Dr. Vadapalli I immediately knew that this was the right place for my family. I loved how knowledgable and open they were, I was impressed by their reluctancy to immediately prescribe antibiotics, and I enjoyed their overall positive attitude and demeanor. My family has been with Santa Clarita Pediatrics for 3 years, and we have received nothing short of exceptional service at every turn. Anytime my son or daughter have been ill, I am able to get in for an appointment the same day. As a matter of fact: even when they are booked solid, they still make room for my children and make me feel like my children are a priority (which is important to any mother). Moreover, Dr. Yen has made himself available to answer my (many) questions during all hours of the day. Most importantly, Dr. Yen makes me feel like he genuinely cares about my children and that they are special to him. I cannot say enough about how incredible Dr. Yen is; he is one of the smartest, friendliest and most sincere people I have ever met.
To demonstrate how remarkable the service is at Santa Clarita Pediatrics: My daughter developed a severe respiratory infection last month (she was 3 months old) and when we left the doctors office that day, the staff actually let us borrow one of their nebulizers instead of having to go out and purchase and/​or rent our own, which is basically unheard of. All of the doctors in this practice are extraordinary and needless to say my children are well taken care of. My son actually asks me if we can go to the doctors, even when he is feeling well, because he loves Dr. Yen so much. I would recommend this practice (and do) to anyone because the doctors in this office, as well as the entire staff, go above and beyond for their patients — they make you feel like you are part of their family.

If I could do no stars, I would! Called twice to make an appointment for my son, and both times they didn’t have my son in their schedule. Word of advice to those new mothers trying to make an appointment, confirm your appointments days ahead to be sure that you actually do have an appointment! Not recommended at all!

I was able to schedule an appointment for my son in less than a week from calling in. Wait time was minimal. Dr. Yen was very helpful and seems like genuine guy. Had a very good first impression of Dr. Yen. I will be coming back and switching my daughter to Dr. Yen as well. My son was very comfortable talking to Dr. Yen, who was also very friendly and patient with my son.

My 5 year old Step Daughter and newborn son see Dr. Yen! He is fantastic. Appointments are easy to schedule, the wait times are quick and Dr. Yen is a true professional while still maintaining a positive and friendly energy that puts the kids at ease! When I call with questions– he exceeds expectations by returning calls within minutes or as soon as he is available (most doctors usually have a 24 hour call back policy). I wouldn’t think of going to a different Pediatrician. I love him– and, more importantly, so do my kids.

My kids have been going to see Dr Vadapalli and Dr Yen for years. They are very thorough, compassionate and responsive doctors who treat parents and kids with respect. One of my kids has special needs and I know when I have a question or concern, they will respond very promptly to my calls. We are so happy they they take care of our kids as if they were their own.

I had a bad experience elsewhere and decided to try out Santa Clarita Peds after seeing such rave reviews. Well it was just as the reviews stated. The staff are friendly and was seen faster than I could finish filling out the paper work. The doctor that saw us was super friendly and was very sweet with my daughter.
I am definitely considering switching after many years of being with a very popular and respected pediatricians office here in Santa Clarita.

We love SCV Pediatrics! My daughter has seen Dr. Yen from birth and he is always so kind, helpful, enthusiastic about your child and you as a mom– he’s very supportive and reassuring and I appreciate that as a mom! All the doctors are wonderful, staff is friendly and helpful, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about it! Plus, they just moved to a very convenient and central location (off valencia by the courthouse) and the new office is huge and awesome! If you have any doubts about where to take your precious ones, look no further:)

The doctors at Santa Clarita Pediatrics are the best. Not only are they professional but they treat each patient as they would their own family member.
Their clinical skills and knowledge base are exceptional. They are patient, compassionate and genuine.
Anyone can become a doctor but not everyone can be exceptional like Dr. Vadapalli and Dr. Yen. 5 stars all the way!

We are new to the area and our daughter has had a virus after virus and high fevers. Each time we have needed an appointment they get us in the same day. We have called at 3 am and a doctor calls us back within minutes. We get follow up calls after each visit from the doctor herself. We are very happy and thankful to have them. Thank you Dr. Bhutra for never rushing our appointments and taking the time to be thorough with our daughters condition.

All the Doctors are charismatic and thorough. We’ve never felt rushed at an appointment and the Doctors are great with children. Dr. Yen has been our youngest child’s pediatrician since her birthday. No matter how many times I’ve called questioning a sneeze or a cough, he’s always been patient and kind. I also appreciate the ²⁴⁄₇ Doctor on call. I would recommend Santa Clarita Pediatrics to everyone, but, I don’t want their practice to get too big.

I love this office. Best staff! Dr Buthra is the best. From the minute she visited me in the hospital the day after my little boy was born I felt so comfortable with her. Always look forward to seeing her at our appts.

The staff and Dr. Yen were wonderful to my family when my son was ill right after we moved to the area. The office was welcoming and went the extra mile. Very thorough in the health assessment and proactive in managing my son’s health issue. Highly recommended!

Well I am also new to the area and having a hard time settling in. Its hard to say goodbye to good doctors so I decided to check Unilocal and came across Santa Clarita Pediatrics. The 5 star ratings are TRUE! This pediatric office is as good as it gets. It was easy to get an appointment for my 4 year old who was over due for her annual checkup. I chose Dr Bhutra based on previous reviews and she does an OUTSTANDING job relating well with children as well as answering my questions. She was patient, thorough and stayed calm despite my 2 year old ripping paper and making a mess of the office. The office staff were friendly and helpful. We had an excellent visit and this visit confirms for me I made the right choice! I am starting to feel better about our move and glad we have a family doctor that is so close by.
You wont be disappointed!

Although Dr. Bhutra was quite nice to our then 9-​year-​old daughter and took no offense to the fact that our then 18-​month-​old had not yet been vaccinated, her front office staff was very rude as they made it crystal clear that our youngest was not welcomed. Additionally, the nurse who was tasked with taking our daughter’s throat culture was suprisingly very rough with her and caused her enough pain to make her cry — but yet she proffered no apologies whatsoever.
Had my husband had an option to leave our youngest (who has never been sick) at home, he certainly would have done so out of respect for the other parents, but he didn’t have one and did what any parent would have done in his situation.
In any case, we’ve chosen not to return to this practice but have fortunately found another doctor and office staff that proved to be more welcoming.

We are new to the area and found ourselves in need of a Peds visit before I had done enough research. In my haste, I stumbled upon reviews for this office – which were stellar – so decided to give it a try for our four year old daughter. We called first thing in the morning to inquire if this office was accepting new patients, and how long would it take to be seen for the first time. The kind and well versed gal who answered the phone had us in the office by midday the very same day! Unbelievable!
Our little one was seen by Dr. Bhutra, and I must say, she was fantastic! Her bedside manner was spot on. She spoke to my four year old and not around her, as some doctors often do. Her touch was soft and kind, and she had such empathy for our little one that made her a very quick favorite. The following day, Dr. Bhutra called personally to check up on our daughter – how many doctors actually make their own followup calls? Two days after the initial visit, we were seen again for a followup visit, and again, Dr. Bhutra was a shining star.
I absolutely recommend this office for its doctors and office staff. Very very impressed. One final thought: all new patient paperwork was easily and quickly printed from home, which was nice. This enabled us to have it completed upon arrival such that we didn’t have to sit with a sick child forever doing paper.
