Sam, you need to be more of a presence. Your staff is not up to the standards you would want. Would love to see you spend some time observing. The staff was rude to me the last 2 times there and the portions were really small. What happened Sam? Did you ever buy that turquois hat years ago from TJMAXX? Please crack down on the way things are at the Canyon Country location. I moved back to the area, but I did not have a good experience making me not want to go back again Best regards to you and your family. Naomi

Sam and his family rock. Great food, great prices, awesome hummus. I usually order the shawarma plate. The downside is that unless you get there early the shawarma can be overcooked from sitting on the spindle all day. Everything else is cooked fresh to order

I have never had such terrible service. The cashier was too busy talking to her friend as we attempted to place an order. The cashier and her friend acted as if we were annoying them. We finally placed our order and then there was the seating issue. Most of the tables were dirty. The cashier wasn’t about to clean any tables so we wiped our own. It was very unsanitary. So the cashier had another friend come in with children. One of the kids were standing on the table and all over the place. The cashier did not clean the table after the boy stood on it. We observed another family sit at that dirty table. The kids also spilled soda on another table, which wasnt wasn’t cleaned either. It was so uncomfortable we just left. The cashier was not attentive to the customers or her job duties. Oh and on our way out the trash was overflowing. I would not like to see the cleanliness of the kitchen. Be expecting a visit from the health department and a complaint to the better business Bureau. This is the last time I will eat here.

This place looks mostly like a fast food joint, but you will not be getting any quick food here. Be prepared to wait 25 – 30 minutes for them to cook your food and they do not prepare food in advance in anticipation of customers. No, it’s not a sit down restaurant where you are seated and a server comes to take your order, with your food arriving 20 – 30 minutes later. Sam’s Flaming Grill is little more than a store front with a few tables and a fast food counter. However, they will not start cooking your food until after you order it. I was in at peak lunch hours, with 3 other people inside and there was only 2 kebabs on the grill. I ordered, waited 20 minutes and then asked when my order would be ready and they said another 10 – 15 minutes. It wasn’t like I walked in at 2:30 in the afternoon so there was little to nothing on the grill. It was PEAK lunch hour and they were just taking their time to produce food. My lunch breaks are short and I couldn’t wait that long so I asked for a refund and left. There were men who had arrived before me and were waiting for their orders, they were still waiting for their food when I left. Felt sorry for anyone coming in after me. Only go if you have time to waste.

Out of all the Sam’s I have tried in SCV, I believe that this is the best, tried a few different plates, but the chicken shwarma gets me every single time, love this place, prices are going up, but it doesn’t matter, good food has no price!

Not bad!!! Not bad at all!!! Now I must try the chickens on the roasters for a quick meal. The shawarma was awesome and rice awesome! I’m used to a thicker tahini sauce but still good. The people in there are very cool and I already know while staying out here in SCV I’ll be bothering them for more good food.

Sam’s Grill has been a favorite for quite some time. I absolutely love the PORKCHOP plate(not the pork kabob). They are so tender and delicious. Many times I have called to place a phone order for the chops and am told they were out. I guess it’s a testament to how good they are. The chicken kabob’s are great too! This place never disappoints! Prices have gone up since we first visited, but it’s to be expected. All in all, great value for the portion size and quality of the food.

Wow factor: First time in my life, I had PORK kabob combo(9.98 $). It was nicely seasoned and came with humus, nan, rice, and salad. Disappointing factors: Originally, I order my pork kabob with fries, but a few minutes later I placed my order, I was told they don’t have fries. Really?! We were there 15 mins after they open and no more fries??? I had to settle for rice. 2nd disappointing thing was their beef lula kabob combo. They charge 9.98 $. I have had better else where for two cents more. Conclusion: If you want to try pork kabob, come over here. If you fancy beef lula kabob, there is one restaurant in Newhall downtown, and for 10 $ you get beef lula and chicken kabob buffet. If you are a member of Rewards Network for any of the airlines, you can earn some miles at the place.

Definitely one of the best in SCV! Fresh home cooked flavor with the convenience of take out. Always delicious and fresh ingredients used. Trisha is absolutely wonderful! She is always happy and friendly and remembers our family’s entire orders and favorites!

Tried Sam’s for the first time. The chicken kabob and chicken shawarma was good but the hummus had a weird taste to it. Maybe it was a bad batch that I got but it wasn’t good. I was also expecting that they would use basmati rice but it tastes just like regular jasmine rice. Chicken tasted good but everything else wasn’t anything special. I might try this place again in the future.

You can NEVER go wrong with Sam’s, I’ve been going for years now. I am satisfied every single time! Customer service is excellent on the phone and in-person. You walk in and the vibes are always good! My all-time favourite dish is the Chicken Kabob Salad(if you’re staying away from carbs). What I loved was their last suggestion the other day of the Feta Cheese Chicken Kabob Salad and that blew me away! Keep it up!

DONOTSUPPORTTHISPLACE!!! 000STARS! They mess up your order and somehow blame it on you! They also charge for condiments that are supposed to come with the dish! When I complained they basically called me a liar! That’s what really gets me steaming. After listening to three employees talk about the mess up Jose got on the phone and told me I was cursing him out! No I wasn’t! He told me to call Sam and hung up on me! Read my motto… I was and am really not at all happy! NEVERAGAIN!

This Sam’s is always a problem. I can’t tell you how many times they have screwed up our orders over the years. We decided to try them one more time and once again they sent us home with a different plate than what we asked for. This last time they blamed us for thier mistake in giving us a kabab when we ordered a shwarma and hung up on us when we complained. Not to mention they charged us for garlic sauce when if we had ordered the kababad the claimed, it should have been included. It showed that the girl who took the order was trying to cover her ass by lying about it. Really uncool and really upsetting. I know Sam and am pretty sure this is not Sam’s idea of customer service but unfortunately I can’t support this substandard treatment.

The service was great. It seemed like they were short of staff the day I came in, but kudos to the gentleman that was able to help a full place and sill provide great service! Now for the food and taste, I’d rate it a 3⁄5. I like that they filled my plate with food, and the price was inexpensive(I paid about $ 9+tax) for a plate of chicken kabobs/rice/salad/hummus. But the taste was bland. The rice didn’t have much flavor to it. The chicken was fantastic! And I throughly enjoyed the hummus. Overall, the food was okay, the amount of food provided was large, and the price tag to go along with this was rarely decently priced.

What the HE! Is takes so long!!! I swear if the good wasn’t so dog gone delicious and so freakin flavorful I would NEVER go back. I don’t know how many times my family and I vow never to eat thee again. The service is HORRIBLE. We always call our order in — no matter how long they say it will take its always been double that time. Lately it’s been triple — highly disappointing. For example we ordered 3 beef shawarma plates — I was told it would take about 45 minutes(keep in mind– it’s a pick up order) so I wait about an hour and 25 minutes and head out the door starving to get my food — was advised it would be ready in just a few minutes. 39 minutes later«Tony!» — seriously??? People Your really pissing me off– it gets worse every time. I think the owner is making every attempt to avoid his food costs(and don’t get me started with that…) that he/she doesn’t start the meat up till the order comes in. Seriously, what’s the problem??? It’s getting old and it’s killing my love for food that comes out of this place. COOKMOREMEAT!!!

Come on people. Whoever is giving this place more than one star has never had good food. While reading the reviews it seems they make one or two dishes that people can’t live without but this sure was not my experience. I had tried this place once before years ago and because my order took so long I ended up walking out without my order. Fast forward to yesterday. My wife wanted to give this place another try so off she went. After waiting 20 mins for her order she began to text me about the wait. I told her to hang in there because the food must be outstanding for people to wait that long. Well I was wrong!!! I had ordered a ¼ chicken meal and ended up with dried drum leg with a lot of white butter rice. My meal alone was $ 10.00. I can get a whole chicken at Costco or SAMs club for $ 5.50, or better yet Vallarta just opened up near me and you can get a whole chicken with rice and beans potato salad and tortillas for less than $ 20 dollars. So disappointed in this place that I had to tell you all about my experience.

I was waiting for Schoolteacher’s day to end, killing time at a local Starbucks getting caught up on my Unilocal reviews. Dinner plans were planned, but not detailed at all. When she suggested we eat here, I was quite intrigued. Sam’s Flaming Grill is another one of those local places I’ve driven past hundreds if not thousands of times, but never actually eaten in. It’s also been here forever and ever. So that’s a good sign. When Schoolteacher arrived at the ultra-snooty coffee place, I gave her a peck on the cheek, slung my laptop bag over my shoulder, and we walked to the establishment immediately next door. When we entered we were quickly greeted by the pair behind the counter. I looked around, and saw that the interior of the place wasn’t all that big, and it was fairly empty. Schoolteacher gave me her order, and I repeated it to myself attempting to commit it to memory. Rotisserie Chicken Salad, Iced Tea. Rotisserie Chicken Salad, Iced Tea. Rotisserie Chicken Salad, Iced Tea. I walked the few steps to approach the counter, and after some witty banter, I gave Schoolteacher’s order to the lady behind the counter. I then looked up at the menu, and wondered what I wanted. They’ve got Schwarma. I seemed to remember I liked Schwarma when I had it once at one of their other locations. I’ll get that again. So I went with Chicken Schwarma, I had the sandwich last time, so I mixed it up and went with ‘the plate’ option for this order. Schwarma. She ran my card through the register, which turned out to be an ipad. Which she then spun around on its swiveling base, which she asked me to sign. Man I really hate signing these things. I dragged my finger around in the box she indicated, and left an ugly pattern that in no way resembled my signature where the X was. Oh well. She said it’d be a little bit, and Schoolteacher and I caught up on our days apart. Before too long, she called out my name, and I went up to get the food. Forks and napkins were placed on top of the containers, and I returned to the table triumphant. As I did, I was quite surprised at the weight of the containers. After opening them, I quickly saw why, there was a ton of food inside. In the standard Styrofoam meal packing container, my mound of Chicken Schwarma sat in the main compartment atop a bed of rice, a small salad was in one of the smaller, and the second small compartment was filled with that Tahini sauce. A pair of Syrian pitas blanketed the top of the package and kept everything warm and cozy. I experimentally picked up a bit of chicken, and tasted it. It was as good as I had remembered it being. The rice and everything else was also quite good. After I was done with the salad, chicken and rice, I dredged the pitas through the sauce.
All in all it was a pretty good meal. I’m happy I ate here. Now that I think about it, if you wanted, I’d think you could even steal the wi-fi bubble from Starbucks next door in this place. Thanks Sam’s Flaming Grill!

NOT gluten free. I LOVE Sam’s(I go to the Copper Hill location) Reasonable prices. I adore the garlic sauce and I usually take home hummus and tabouli for home snacking. That being said: A friend who has been diagnosed for Celiac Disease called ahead and asked if their spice mixes/marinade has any gluten product. The answer was something like, «Wow. I don’t think so.» Well, she had a Celiac event(not gastro-intestinal…for her, it is more systemic). She was very disappointed because she LOVED the steak kabab. But something in the spices or marinade had a gluten product. Now she will suffer the symptoms for days while the gluten works its way out of her system.
