completely unprofessional, for my 9 am appt, a car pulled into my driveway… not a work truck. When he came inside, i asked if a work truck would be coming if needed, he said yes. i told him the problem with my wall heater, that i can light the pilot and turn it on, but it always just heats up and then it goes out along with the pilot. So he proceeded to look at it… but he didn’t even have a lighter to light it!!! i gave him mine. Of course it went on as usual, but he didn’t seem interested to wait to see what would happen, telling me there was nothing wrong with it. In the meantime, he was quoting me outrageous gouging prices of $ 850 – 900 to replace the whole mechanism inside the unit (Built in 1994), or just replacing the whole thing for over $ 2000! which he wrote on the estimate invoice. Then he left… and of course 3 min later it kicked off, so i called his cell and told him. He said he would get back to me shortly, so i waited, and waited, and waited some more. I wanted it fixed that day, tha’ts what the appt was for. i finally called him back 3 hours later, and he said he just got back to the office, and would start looking for the whole interior part… but he needed the manufacturer and model number!!! pardon me, but are you working for me, or the other way around?! i got on my knees with a flashlight and gave him the info. Then i waited, and again waited some more… and had to call him back again myself to ask what the heck is going on. He said he found the parts which needed to be ordered, and what would be a good day to come? I told him there wasn’t another day, as he frittered away this day, which was the appointment. needless to say, they cashed my $ 85 service charge check, which they did nothing but waste my time, and also try to gouge me!!! Now a real business professional would have come with the tools to troubleshoot the unit, then give me the real assessment of what was exactly wrong with it, I seriously doubt it needs to be completely overhauled. And meanwhile… I’m still cold, as its not working yet. DO NOT CALL PAYLESS HEATING AND AIR !!! IF YOU ARE READING THIS PAYLESS, I EXPECT YOU TO CALL ME WITH AN APOLOGY, AND TO RE-​EMBURSE ME. CHECK YOUR RECORDS FOR Reseda Ca. Baird av. Jerry. **PART 2** 3 weeks later I called Economy Plus Heating, he showed up in a truck, he had the part on it, and an hour later it was fixed for $ 450. NOT $ 900 like PayMore wanted me to pay to wait longer!

I am so impressed with Mario from Payless Heating and Air Conditioning! I cannot believe how hard he and his crew worked. They were on time to the job (actually early!) and worked long after any other crew would have quit. Mario was incredibly polite and his work was spotless. I cannot say enough how pleased I am with my experience. Mario is an asset to the company and the reason I am happy to so highly recommend Payless.

Jacob was the technician who installed a new water heater at my home; and he did a fantastic job and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. In and out of the house in about an hour! Would highly recommend.

What a rip-​off! Their company name «Payless» is a joke when compared to my personal experience with them. I called them to disconnect/​reconnect my A/​C condenser while I was having my patio repaved. My paver contractor had told me this job usually costs around $ 400.
On the phone, Payless had quoted an $ 85 service call which they would apply to the labor. When they arrived, I was told the job would cost $ 900; $ 300 today to disconnect the condenser and $ 600 later to reconnect it. To say I was shocked by this outrageous gouging would be putting it mildly! When I protested at the steep charge, the tech called his boss who agreed to a $ 200 discount, downgrading it to a $ 700 job. It was 4pm in the afternoon and my paver install was scheduled to start 8am the next morning so I had no choice but to have them disconnect the condenser at the $ 300 charge. I then called 4 other companies for comparative estimates which I unfortunately hadn’t had the time to do earlier and all of their quotes ranged from $ 300 – 500 for the COMPLETE job of disconnecting and reconnecting the unit. Needless to say, I had one of these other companies do the reconnecting.

The best. That is all I can say. Brandon B. Is my man he changed our water heater and did an excellent job on the piping. I will recommend him to others without any reservation. He came on time and worked hard. Those who had bad reviews maybe had a different service man. For the $ I don’t my insurance was paying it so I don’t know if they are expensive or not. They shouldn’t be very cheap though. I paid $ 270 for some piping upgrade, which is not cheap but he did a very good job, according to codes and everything.

THEIR NAME SAYS IT ALL… «PAYLESS». Let’s face it, since I know nothing about air conditioning repairs I figured they could tell me anything and was preparing to replace the entire unit. It’s refreshing to know that this family owned business is honest. The repairs cost us under $ 500.00 and we have air conditioning again. It was very assuring to hear a live voice on the phone every time I called their office. Our service tech., Danny, was very professional and had us up and running in no time. I GIVE THIS COMPANY FIVE STARS AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM FOR ALL YOUR A/​C and WATER HEATER NEEDS.

Called them back in April 2009 when my AC would not start. The guy replaced a part that should go for less than $ 50 retail and charges us $ 250 plus a service fee. The total bill was for $ 370 when an honest man would have charged $ 150.
Rotten deal. I just now happened to see them on Unilocal so I an writing the review today. Better late than never if it saves you some hard earned coin.

Juan C. Was the service man. Great service, very professional. Our water heaters pilot kept shutting off. Juan replaced a part then realized it needed an additional part. He ran to the valencia office and was back in no time. I would call then again for any plumbing problem.

Only FIVE stars because they dont give you the option of SIX stars.
I recently had air conditioning, furnace and ducting installed through Payless Heating and Air Conditioning. I had a great experience from start to finish. The sales guy that came (Ron) showed up on time and provided a number of rebates that nobody else had. Since we had already spoken to about 4 other companies, we signed on the spot given that our net cost was lower than all their competitors. The installers led by Julio were tremendous. They also showed up on time, were clean, professional, friendly, and cleaned up at the end of each day. While it was a large job, they completed it all in two days. Those guys deserve a raise! They did a great job and couldnt be more pleased with the new system we have in place.

Only because ZERO stars is not an option. Miss an appointment 2 days in a row and you will lose business.
