Kyle’s Custom Critter Care

I am a local veterinarian and Kyle is one of the only pet sitters I recommend. My family has known her family for a long time, so I can say with a great deal of confidence that she is trustworthy-​definitely someone who will be respectful of your home while you are away. Also, her love for animals is unparalleled. When she isn’t pet sitting she is working at the shelter to help save animals who would have no other chance, often using her own money to help them. Her tireless efforts have saved countless animals. Finally, her experience level is excellent, she is able to medicate very challenging animals and her medical knowledge means she will be able to tell if something is wrong with her charges and move quickly to action. I think this is very important because some pet sitters simply show up and take care of basic animal needs, Kyle will actively be looking for signs of trouble and ensuring your animals get the best of care. I would absolutely hire Kyle if I was vacationing, and enjoy total peace of mind the whole trip.

Unprofessional. Gave no courtesy notice that she is unwilling to schedule future care and medication administration to our elderly cat. My opinion is that If she feels she does not have the skills or no longer has the time to care for our terminally ill animal, I would have expected notification or discussion in advance. Rather, when I contacted her for the next visit, she refused to even offer possible dates. Inasmuch as I work away from home and need to have home care to administer Rx which I cannot do myself, this has left me stranded. No notice whatsoever. I now must now quickly begin interviews of others, all the while our dear cat must wait for further home care.
I would not recommend her to others as I normally would in the course of any business, but will not because of a lack of commonplace business professionalism and courtesy. Because of this, the same courtesy and notification she would expect in return of course, it is ultimately our pet that suffers.
There is more to running a business than mere skill, and is equally important to the customer.

Neither my husband, nor I have had a dog as a pet since we were little. With two young children at home, we didn’t want to screw this up. We adopted a 20 lb 2 year old mutt from the shelter and immediately contacted Kyle. We are so glad that we did.
Kyle came to our house, met our family and Penny, our dog. She has worked with our family in training Penny to be a good girl. When we got our dog, she wasn’t housebroken, hadn’t gone on walks, and just generally hadn’t been loved and trained. Kyle came to our house, about once per week for the past 5 weeks and helped us (and Penny) to work together.
Kyle has a obvious love of dogs, and Penny just loves her. Kyle volunteers at the local shelter and will bend over backwards to help you to train your dog so that you have a peaceful family. Her prices are extremely reasonable and she is patient with both dogs and their humans.
We still have a way to go with Penny, but in the short time that Kyle has worked with us, she walks so much better on a leash, goes potty outside, happily goes to bed at night, and has learned various commands like sit, stay, come, roll over, walk, etc.
We have been extremely pleased and plan to use her dog walking/​sitting services when we are away.

I have used Kyle’s Custom Critter Care for my 2 chihuahuas. I am a very responsible dog owner and require only the best care for my dogs. I also need overnight care for them as they can’t really have the run of the house through the night.
Kyle (and her associates) do not disappoint. They are kind, compassionate, responsible and knowledgeable about dogs and how to care for them. My 2 dogs absolutely love Kyle.
At the end of the pet sitting visit, there is also a write-​up of activities that the dogs did, how the visit went, and anything that I need to know to provide continuity in their routine.
You will not be disappointed. Everyone who knows Kyle raves about her care of animals and I personally will endorse her with flying colors!

Kyle of Custom Critter Care is one of those «great animal people» Her love of and respect for animals is boundless. Kyle volunteers for the local animal shelter working with the animals and doing mobile adoptions. She has such love and compassion for the very misunderstood Pit Bull breed that her advocacy has enlightened many people and helped countless animals.

Highly recommend. Pets are well cared for and treated like family members kyle is genuinely concerned about the comfort and care of the the animals inher care. Owners feel confident their concerns will be addressed and pets will be well tended.

We attempted to set an appointment and develop an ongoing relationship for our dog with the woman who runs this business. Not only did she give us a total run around and blow us off twice to meet our dog (the second time blaming us), causing us to look elsewhere for care last minute, she was extremely rude. I can’t help but wonder how she would treat a dog if she treats potential customers this way. There are plenty of dog sitters in the SCV. Don’t waste your time here. The only reason we give one star is because none is not an option.
