The purpose for your investment is clear, to forever be able to reflect upon your fondest memories that can only be captured by a photographer who knows how to predict when those moments are going to happen, and how to use the light in a way that expresses the raw, authentic emotion of that moment. I specialize in lifestyle/​documentary photography — a talent that is unique, skillful and rarely duplicated.

What you can expect from me — my personal photo style and artistry (I edit all the images myself), open and consistent communication before, during and after your event (I’m very easy to get a hold of). I follow through. I’m dependable and punctual. You, as my client, are depending on me to tell your story… I as your photographer take that with pride and with passion and can give no less than 110% of my effort!

History

Established in 2011.

I’ve been a photographer for over 20 years. I shot for a lot of local newspapers and then took time off to teach and raise children. Now that my kids are older, I can now return to my passion!

My background is Photojournalism. I went to California State University of Northridge and earned my BA degree in Journalism with An Emphasis in Photojournalism. I was the photo editor for the Sundial and was awarded Best Photo Editor and was a CIPA Award recipient in the category of Best News Photo. I have always had a passion for telling stories in a visual way. I have loved photography ever since I picked up my dad’s old camera around the age of five.

Because of my photojournalism background, my work possesses a documentary flair. This style of photography enables me to capture people «in the moment» and lends a unique quality and texture to my work. That in addition all your traditional shots, everything else is about capturing that moment… that emotion.

I also create emotional and engaging slideshows.

I work hard at everything I do. I continue to keep open lines of communication to ensure the project matches what my clients envision!

Julie has taken my family’s holiday pictures for the past two years. This year, my two year old was sick the day we took pictures and it was extremely difficult to get him to smile. Because Julie was unable to get a good picture with him smiling, she offered to do a quick reshoot at a later date. She got beautiful pictures in every setting she had us in. She does wonderful work. We definitely plan on having Julie take our pictures next year.

I have nothing but praise for the quality of the images and professionalism we experienced working with Julie. I found her work on-​line when looking for someone to take some family portraits. Julie was very accommodating when scheduling both the location and time of the shoot and delivered the images faster than promised.
We were working in an outdoor location with my wife, myself and our three children (one toddler, who listens and takes directions about as well as toddlers do), in somewhat windy conditions but she nailed every shot and knew how to keep things moving and focused without sacrificing a wonderful (but not over-​done) artistic flair. Polite, friendly, professional and creative… exactly what I was looking for.

If you’re looking for a photographer that shoots the moment as opposed to the standard photos, you have found her! I can’t tell you just how happy we are with the photographs of our daughter’s Bat Mitzvah and the party that followed (not to mention the bus ride with the kids!). While Julie will give you as many standard photos as you want, please let her do what she does best. Her experience as a photojournalist and ability to capture that moment shows in every photo. I don’t often write reviews on Unilocal,but Julie is that good.

Julie is AMAZING! I can’t believe how beautiful our wedding photos turned out and how low her prices were. You are never going to find a photographer with such great prices and excellent quality photos. Trust me, I searched high and low for a decently priced photographer, with no luck, until I found Julie. Honestly, I was a bit nervous because her price was so low for the whole day. I wasn’t expecting too much, but boy were we blown away by the results. Far better than I ever expected.
Also, Julie is such a nice person and really down to earth. She was really easy to work with and she knew exactly what she was doing. Before and after the ceremony she took some really awesome posed photos, as well as, some really awesome candid photos. Overall, I would highly recommend her.
