I’ve been back several more times. Always great service and the prices are great. I’ve read the reviews where people are complaining about the prices. I think the prices are more than reasonable and appreciate the fact that Jason is a small business owner and obviously cares about the work he does.

Have taken many watches and wall clocks here over the years — this is the place to go. Repaired old watches, maintained wind up clocks, and new batteries for every watch I’ve owned. Some specific comments — they do things right — which means it isn’t the cheapest place. The good news, though, is they know what they are doing and often end up fixing things that other folks screw up. For example, for some reason, some jewelers and cheap battery places don’t have the right tools and techniques to close battery cases — often causing them damage. This place not only does it right, but helped fix a dented back that another battery place put in the case of my watch that kept it from sealing. You have a nice watch or clock? It’s worth it to drop in here and have them help you care for it.

First time customer needed a battery for my girls Fendi and Jason the owner dropped everything and I was out in 5 mins. Its more than that thought he took the time and explained the backing and watch itself and educated me on the materials its made of which is ceramic and my girl had no idea. Great guy the watch is over 2k so i’m glad to have trusted him instead of some guy in a mall.

I have had nothing but prompt, no-​nonsense, and effective work done at the Tick Tock Shop. In contrast to the people I have had working on my watches in the past, Jason has the tools to do the job correctly. His prices have been totally reasonable so far. I plan to continue taking my watches here for repairs as long as I am in the area.

Went this morning to have my battery changed. The owner was really nice, the price was good, and he did the job in about 10 minutes. The only reason I am only giving 3 stars is because he started working on my watch without telling me a price. I had to ask for the price, which wasn’t much of an inconvenience at all, but I just wanted to give you a heads up about this if you go there. I think this is just how he does business which you’ll get from a lot of «mom and pop» shops, so be sure to ask him upfront how much your service will cost, and he’ll be more than happy to tell you.
His dad started the shop in ’74 and he clearly knows a lot about timepieces, which is pretty cool. I recommend giving this place a shot, and I will definitely go back the next time I have the need.

Awesome place I took my Nixon watch for a band replacement and new battery. Most people don’t know what to do with a Nixon watch, but this guy is a professional in every aspect. I will definitely recommend this shop. And the price is very reasonable. If you have a Nixon and don’t want to do all the shipping back and forth to the Nixon repair center bring it here.

Came in for a quote to service a vintage Omega I had bought.
Guy was very rude and didn’t seem interested in my business. Named a very obscene quote and didn’t feel that it was necessary to explain what exactly was going to be done.
Would not recommend this place based on their horrible customer service.

His knowledge of clocks is amazing.
He was able to determine a repair need for my clock to get it running again. If you are looking for a true clocksmith, you have found him! Truly an artist!

Hard to find but quick service. I hope stores like this one that provide useful services get to stay in business.

I’ve had the fortune of finding out about The Tick Tock Shop when it was recommended on the watch forums.
I’ve now gone to Jason 2 – 3 times so far. I was immediately impressed with his knowledge base and his confidence in his work the first time I met him. He’s also very friendly despite some of the reviews on here. I had met some of his frequent customers in the shop too, and they were friendly as well.
The first time I went to Jason, I got my bracelet sized for my newest watch; and for my diver’s watch I had a dust particle removed from underneath its sapphire crystal. Jason was very quick in performing both these services. What Jason charged me for both these services put together was roughly equivalent to what my previous watchmaker had charged me for just a bracelet sizing/​changing out a strap — for one watch.
(The previous watchmaker also wanted to charge me 3 times Jason’s price for taking out the dust particle in my diver’s watch).
I don’t mind paying a premium price if the service is exceptionally good. But with Jason, you get exceptional service plus very reasonable pricing. I could immediately tell he was efficient, quick, and really good and confident at performing these services (when I compared him to the other watchmaker). I really felt like my watches were in good trustworthy hands. Wow.
On my last visit to Jason, I took my recently purchased Omega to him after I had gotten a dent and a small scratch on it. (That was upsetting). He did a fine skilled job getting out those blemishes and making my watch look as good as new. I really appreciated his attention to detail and taking the time to make the watch appear to my satisfaction. And he still charged me less than what I was charged by my previous watchmaker for that bracelet sizing!
Jason has given me a lot of advice on how to take care of my mechanical watches.

I went here for watch battery replacement. the owner was professional. fast and changed two watch batteries in 8 – 10 min. I paid by credit card and was out of there. would recommend if you are looking for vintage watch collection as well as for battery replacement.

I had my watch Seiko with white diamonds stopped working because the hand-​minutes extracted from its place, then I went to tick tock to fix it since he is local.
I found a young man alone in the store, the store sounds old family owned business, they have all kind of stylish watches of 19^th century.
When I got in I just showed him the watch and I asked him to fix it then resize it with one link to fit my hand, he was professional, he just answered with 1 sentence: «I’ll take care of it», I waited for 10 minutes in the store, he didn’t say any word he was busy working on it, then when he finished he gave it back to me and asked for $ 20.
that’s all, no side talk nothing, I like when people they just do their job and not being braggarts. I definitely use him again.

Jason replaced the bearings on my wall clock 5 years ago. Took it back for a cleaning this month. Once he looked at it, it didn’t take him long to clean it up. Just put it back on the wall and it is running great.
He is friendly and does excellent work.

I have been going here since starting law school at Santa Clara University, and will probably keep coming back long after I graduate, even though I live in San Francisco. I mostly have gone here for battery replacements, but I also had the «gaskets» replaced when I found some mild condensation on the inside of the watch face (apparently you shouldn’t take dive watches into hot tubs on a regular basis due to the heat and chemicals breaking down the seals), and got some pins replaced when I fell snowboarding and the watch hooked on something as it ripped off of my arm. Why am I willing to drive that far?
1. Better price than most reputable places charge to replace the battery in a Tag Huer. I think I pay 23 or so dollars, and most places (that are trustworthy to not ruin the watch) charge 40 – 60.not kidding.
2. I know he’s not trying to rip me off, and gives honest explanations/​advice.
3. He knows what he’s doing, and he orders and uses the correct parts to do the job properly.
Who this place is for:
1. People who have a watch that they plan on keeping forever.
2. People who have complex projects that require the knowledge and skill of an expert (i.e. grandfather clocks, cuckoo clocks).
Who this place is NOT for:
1. Someone looking for adjustments or battery replacements on a fashion watch AND are expecting to get excellent customer service.
If this is you, you might wonder why is this place not for me? Well, think about it, he’s one person working alone, and if more then one customer walks in at the same time, you might be waiting for much longer than you would at the mall. You also aren’t going to get the same sort of customer service as you will at the mall, since most employees there are paid by the hour, and every minute he spends explaining things to someone who won’t actually benefit from his services is another minute that he’s not spending on the work that pays his bills to keep the place open.

This is a true «old school» business. Jason is a FOURTH generation clocksmith, and he treated my family heirloom grandfather clock like the work of art that it is. It had been years since the clock had functioned, and it was in deparate need of some TLC. He came to my house, and gently disassembled it and took it to his shop, where he cleaned, repaired and completely tuned it up. The price ($ 555.00) was completely reasonable given the effort.
Jason is a true professional.

Jason comes from a long line of watchmakers and he KNOWS watches! If you have any watch-​related issue, The Tick Tock Shop is the place to go and Jason will ensure you get the service your timepiece needs. Highly recommended (and my father goes here too).

My husband went here and had a horrible experience! Apparently the guy (Jason) was very rude and the shop reeks like Cigarette smoke!
He went in a couple weeks ago to have my watched resized and a battery put in one of his watches. The guys charged $ 30! Which he thought was a bit pricey, but because this is a small shop near our house, my husband wanted to give him the business rather than a large chain at the mall or something. The watch was still too big so my husband went back A WEEK LATER to have my one more link taken out, and he wanted to charge another $ 10!
When asked about this double charge (he was under the impression that, after paying $ 30, another small adjustment would be complimentary), Jason said «you have interrupted me, and if your wife was here you wouldn’t be charged.»
WHAT? First of all, interrupted you? I’m sorry, I thought this was YOUR JOB. Secondly, my wife can’t be here because you are open M-​F 10 – 4! Who the hell, besides retired old people, can come in during those hours? My husband was making a special trip on his lunch break to come in and give YOU business. But, sorry for «interrupting you».
My husband said «okay, I’ll pay your $ 10, but you will never see us again» to which Jason replied «you know what? don’t pay, and I don’t want your in here anymore!!»
Between my husband and myself we own 20+ watches, and for the ones that aren’t under a store warranty it is nice having someone who is local and seems like he knows what he’s doing. But not when having to deal with this b.s. In the future we will go to another shop or to the Mall. This small business owner is a !!! who does not know how to treat customers!
He just lost more than $ 10, he lost our future business and that of all the people we know… which is a lot.
