McBrayer Construction resurfaced part of my driveway, opened up a stucco wall, put in a new opening on the wall and changed my long walkway from one with stairs to a gradual path. Everything looks perfect– the change in the wall is seamless (it looks like it was originally built that way), and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
From the initial meeting with Aram for an estimate through the final coat of paint with Ricardo, they were absolutely meticulous, timely, professional and a pleasure to work with. I look forward to referring them many more clients.

Called mcbrayer to get a quote for a complete front and backyard landscape. When whoever on the phone picked up, he already sounded rude and unpleasant. Possibly I caught him on a bad day. But his questions were abrupt and direct. What do you want to do? When do you want it done? His final question. Is anyone else bidding on this project. I said yes, however, I see you have some great Unilocal reviews and would love to understand more about your services. His response, not interested! And then he hangs up. Boy I’m glad I didn’t go with him. Regardless of how good he is at performing the job, his attitude and professionalism scream avoid. Good luck mcbrayer.

We were referred to Eric by a friend that just got his back yard done. Eric came out and was very knowledgeable and happy to take on the work and even try to have it completed before Xmas.
We did have other landscapers come give us quotes and we were able to compare. We picked Eric as he came across as the most friendly and accommodating. Plus his quote was reasonable.
It was easy to select the stone and color choice at a large stone depot in Sunnyvale. Just had to let Eric know and he was able to order the quantity needed etc. also there where lots of pattern choices and I went for the old town house 3.
The majority of work was done over 3 days. Our area is just 20×9 yards so it wasn’t going to take a long time. What impressed me was how Ricardo handle the job and was always willing to answer any questions I had. He did a great job of cleaning up after himself and was very meticulous.
We only have the sealer left to put on but since it’s been raining a lot we have to put that on hold until we get a few dry days.

How refreshing it is to work with such a wonderful, efficient, talented team of professionals like those of McBrayer Construction. Eric promptly came to our home to learn about what type of concrete patio expansion we hoped to achieve. He made several helpful suggestions and within less than 24 hours issued a competitive bid. We happily hired Eric and his team and within 72 hours, our new patio was completed. It was built using reinforced steel for durability and strength. We’ve now enjoyed many more BBQ’s outside using our newly expanded patio. Thanks so much to Eric and his team, great job.

Eric helped us with our kitchen, and it turned out better than my wife and I could’ve imagined. He was prompt and very accommodating, and his communication was stellar. He even uncovered and fixed up some shoddy work the previous owners of our house were responsible for.
We were very happy with the work and look forward to using his services again for other work on our house.

We hired Eric and the rest of the McBrayer crew for a complete backyard makeover and we are so glad we did! One of the main reasons for our makeover was to solve a major water run-​off /​drainage problem. The slope of our yard was completely wrong resulting in our garage being flooded during the heavy rains. Eric knew exactly what to do! Our project included: demo of existing patio and cinder block wall, removal of several stumps, removal of tons (!) of dirt and debris, installation of a french drain with several feeders, new stone back steps and stone raised planter with fountain, install new stamped concrete patio and walkway, new irrigation system (6 stations), new sod, new 7 ft. privacy fence and fenced «cubby» for garbage cans, decomposed granite around our shed, and soil amendments for all flower beds. We were told the project would take 3 weeks and that was very reasonable! Well, Eric and his team finished in 2 weeks and one day! The entire crew started early every day. We could tell that they truly enjoy what they do! Eric’s «I just want you to be happy» attitude was simply amazing and very much appreciated as we did make some adjustments to our plan along the way. That is what customer service is all about! We would hire McBrayer Construction in a second for any future home projects! Thanks Eric and team!

Eric McBrayer was by today to tear out my rotting cedar fence and replace it with a brand new redwood fence. See Photos posted. He did such an amazing job on the extension of our walkway, that it seemed only natural to have him back to do our next project… the fence.
The pictures pretty much telsl the story. And Eric is meticulous about his cleanup. Our front yard was completely clean. Eric is very friendly and super easy to work with.
It is not often that I find someone that is so conscientious about his work and his customers needs.

I’ve used McBrayer Construction for a number of jobs at my residence and at rental properties. Eric has been great to work with, he is prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable — he has integrity — he does what he says he will do.

Eric is a joy to work with! His work is precise and speedy. And he is a pleasure to have around. We are doing a crazy project, turning a derelict tennis court into a garden and Eric built the most beautiful 60 foot long undulating raised garden bed for me. He also cut a dozen holes through the asphalt/​concrete and cut a very precise spiral for another part of my crazy project. I highly recommend Eric for just about any job you need done.

Eric was amazing and stress free to work with on our last home project. We were installing sliding glass doors and a step out redwood deck from our bedroom where there was no prior entrance, as well as redwood deck and step down to the entrance of our house. The project took some creative solutioning, especially around the front deck considering mixed level front and garage entrances. Eric would not rest until we had come to agreement on a design concept which we were happy with. Eric was honest in his quote and hist time commitments, his crew took just as much pride in their work as Eric did, and he was extremely accommodating in my additions to the project and indecisiveness in design. Eric brought a great deal of knowledge and design experience to the table which resulted in a finished product that we couldn’t be happier with. The project involved excavation, exterior stucco removal, plumbing rerouting, full entrance creation and door installation, deck build and staining and restucco/​repainting.
We were extremely cautious in choosing a contractor considering the nightmarish experiences our friends have had in their remodels. Eric is honest, won’t cut corners and will not try to talk you out of your vision at any cost. Our project was seriously stress free and I will always go back to Eric for future projects.

Eric can fix or build just about anything. He’s tackled an assortment of projects for us, and has always been extremely professional, timely, and thorough. You get exactly what you want at a fair cost, with a clear understanding of any options.
Recently, Eric replaced our bathroom lineoleum and fixed the wall: my house bunny had gotten grumpy about being temporarily penned in. During the repair, Eric noticed old water damage and fixed the floor/​support underneath –all within quote and very quickly.

Eric has also done an assortment of minor items for us, such as: bunnyproofing, installing security screen door, and dryer venting. Each task was treated with the same care as more major projects.
Speaking of major projects, we anticipated a complete teardown and replacement of a large shed (almost a detached garage). Eric determined the original structure was quite sound and only some exterior panels needed replacing. It’s now looking great and properly dry inside.
When a huge tree destroyed half of our driveway, Eric removed the tree, broken concrete, and had a new driveway in place in just a few days.
He really does have a very positive can-​do attitude, and deals well with super-​specific directives as well as vague «I was thinking maybe…» My lists usually have some of each, and I trust his recommendations.

I’m giving Eric McBrayer 5 stars because Unilocal calls that «Woohoo! As good as it gets!» Well, Eric is better than it gets.
There is nothing he can’t do. Every single different task I’ve asked him about was met with an easy-​going smile and a «Yeah, no problem. I can do that.»
He’s efficient, does a good job, has an adorable smile, and charges less than he’s worth. The fact that we’re always laughing together is just icing on the cake.
I hope my house breaks down more often!

Eric is competent, thorough, and trustworthy. Plus I bet he’d be fun to be at a BBQ with. Okay, but you probably want details.
I bought an older home (circa 1955) as is with many issues detailed by the home inspection that I needed to have taken care of. Eric came out and gave me an estimate a week or so ago. He wrote up the proposal, listing all items, with a reasonable figure for work that would take better than a day. I removed one of the items because my neighbors fixed it, and added hanging my over-​the-​john cabinet. Eric lowered the estimate by $ 50, but he forgot to add the cabinet hanging.
He came out on my time frame to take measurements and make a material list. I gave him a key, and he worked at the house while I was at work. He finished up the following day.
I must tell you he did not do what was on my list/​proposal. He did more. On the list was removing and cleaning the window tracks on the two stiff windows in the living room. He removed and cleaned all the windows and WD-40’d them. Yes, ALL. I went to open the window in the kitchen and it went sailing on me. I didn’t realize I’d already gotten used to how stiff they all were.
One of the items was the sealing of the gutter at the back of the garage. Eric discovered this wasn’t required, as the gutters were just clogged with junk from the pepper trees. They weren’t leaking, just unable to function properly. How he discovered this was by cleaning out all the garage gutters. .. again, not on the list. He hung the cabinet (not on the list), dealt with the dishwasher not being bolted to anything (previous owners’ poor planning), got rid of the rats ability to get under my house, rerouted my condensor line from the AC, connected my venting for my range hood in the attic, etc.
He has told me if I ever have a question about anything, even if it doesn’t involve him doing work, to call and ask.
And the price? It was lower than the original estimate, even though he did more. Gotta love a contractor who shows up when he says he’ll be there, does all of the work and more, and charges a more than reasonable rate. Give this guy all the stars possible!
