Pros: clean environment friendly service HOT and FRESH food! reasonable price Cons: only wished they would have bathroom so I could wash my hands after a quick meal run ;) Rant: I have tried chicken katsu order at J&J right next to de anza college. they are known for their huge portions. last time I went I and shared with 2 friends for a regular size and it was huge. but J&J had this cold chicken katsu that was disappointing and bland. Plus that place was dark and dirty. mmm didn’t have a good experience there sigh. BUT BUT BUT L&L omg! The store was bright and clean~ and order was quick and everything is so wonderful lol! this place is definitely one my top choices on a busy day!

I love coming here, the girls are always so njce, and almost ALWAYS have a smile! I love how I don’t feel all lazy and sick afterwards and how refreshed I feel. Thank you for providing delicious food and sweet service. I love the bbq beef with no cabbage, with a side of macaroni and rice

We spent $ 53 which felt like too much for 4 people. Especially since you have to ask for a clean table(you get a side of attitude when you ask for that!) After we were done, we asked for a small to go container and they charged us another $ 0.50. Whatever. That’s fine. How much more for napkins? How much for a small bag to carry my leftovers? How much more to get a clean area to eat my food?

Bad service! I would not recommend this L&L at all. At 7pm the fans are full blast and it’s just as cold as it is outside(43 degrees) The two girls at the counter are really off putting. We tried to order cheeseburgers for the kids but they ran out of buns, when we said we needed a minute to decide on something else we got«the sigh…»(Like really… Your going to make me wait?!) We ordered everything for here but they packed it to go, waisting two plastic bags! The husband got the chicken saimin, SOBAD!!! It had no flavor whatsoever. It was just water and chicken and noodles. The only good thing about my short ribs were the rice and Mac salad. It was a waste of $ 41! Not a fan of this L&L at all. We won’t be back!

Service is awesome here! Staff is super nice and food is ready within a few minutes! Great place to go to for lunch and take out. This l&l is definitely more generous! They give more portion sizes! Although the spam musubi had too much rice and needs more meat.

I’ve come here on and off for years. It’s nice to have something available when I’m craving plate lunch. Overall I’d give the food 3.5 stars since it’s really filling, but if you do anything more sedentary than running a marathon every day this food is really unhealthy for you. 2nd to last time I visited I decided to get a spam musubi along with my order. They were pretty busy and it took around 15 minutes of waiting to get my order. When I finally got all the way home I checked the box that should have had my spam musubi and it turned out to be someone else’s macaroni salad. Pretty disappointing but I’m sure it was just an honest mistake since they were trying to rush out so many orders. Since this place is a few miles away I didn’t bother driving all the way back for something so small. I’d have practically spent more in gas than the cost of the damn little musubi. Today I went in and mentioned my misplaced spam musubi, hoping to get a replacement added on to my order. I was refused. Apparently I was supposed to call as soon as I got home and noticed my incorrect order. I’m not sure what calling would have accomplished since I didn’t plan on making the trip back that day anyway. Really pissed that they couldn’t even tack on a little $ 2 snack to my $ 11 order to fix their own mistake. It’s stupid little penny pinching business practices and lousy service like this that makes me want to take my money elsewhere. I think it’s time for me to give up mainland plate lunch. In all, okay food but make sure your order is right before you leave because the people here will do you no favors.

L& l has always been consistently good well at least atthis location. i’ve had multiple plates their and its always fresh and great. No complaints. I’ve recently started eating the low carb meals and I highly recommend if you are dieting to take a try… I’ll be back.

Nasty! The fish is a tiny piece of soggy breaded filet. The teriyaki sauce is like brown water, runs off the chicken so you are eating plain grilled chicken. The spare ribs are mostly fat. Wow. So NOT worth my $ 22 bucks.

Ordered take out and was pretty disappointed in the food. The chicken and beef were tough and the rice was hardened from though I ate it within 10 minutes of ordering in the restaurant! The spam musubi also tasted… off. I recently ate at Ono Hawaiian a week ago and now realize how much better it is compared to L&L. That’s not the fault of this particular chain, but it was still disappointing that the flavors were one-dimensional, overcooked, and lacking the oomph that other Hawaiian places got.

this is for my visit 7÷18÷15 Usually i love this place. good quick service. This time, I ordered a Katsu + short rib plate, and they served me the wrong order. I got a short rib + grilled chicken on the side. I was extremely disappointed, because I mainly went there for the katsu, and decided to add an order of short ribs, so was quite displeased to not be able to eat the lunch I was looking forward to. Maybe they should update their POS system or something, cuz my receipt doesn’t even mention katsu. just says ½ bbq plate. with an updated POS, maybe they won’t get it wrong next time? otherwise, the food was ok. I don’t expect for them to know how much I wanted to eat that specific item.

DIRTY. A melody of trash, used trays and uneaten meals is the FIRST thing I see right when I walk in. Then I check the place out even more and the floors were filthy. There was one person on the register and another person standing there. Shouldn’t one person do the upkeep? It’s a small store, it should be that difficult.

They are so rude! The they close at 9pm we arrived at 8:45pm and they told us we couldn’t eat inside after 8:45. We explained that we didn’t have anywhere to eat our food and they still refused to let us eat inside! Never going back to that place…

L&l is my go to when I’m craving some Hawaiian style fast food in the area. I usually do take out orders and the food gets done pretty quickly. You get a lot of food for the price you pay. I love that they have a «healthy» and«low carb» option, since I can barely finish their mini sizes which are still on the heavier styles. Last time in, I picked up their Garlic fish healthy style and loco moco for the boyfriend. Loco moco here is a MUST. The regular size usually comes with two patties, eggs cooked however you would like, gravy, and macaroni salad. The mini is usually half the size, which is what I go for when I’m craving it. Loco moco’a one of their highlight dishes and their combo dishes as well. The garlic fish was pretty good. It came with a large scoop of brown rice and lots of veggies which was nice. A plus is you can always sub the regular rice in other plates with brown rice. Overall, it’s the spot to go to when I’m craving fast food from the islands. Good portions and good customer service from my previous experiences

Ooh, my BF& I come here once or twice every couple months and it never seems to get old. I crave it and when I finally get to eat it, it’s like a mouthful of deliciousness. We always get the regular chicken katsu and sometimes 2 or 3 spam musubis, yum! Their portions are pretty big. About $ 7 – 8 for two scoops of rice, a scoop of macaroni salad, and a HUGE portion of fried chicken. It is definitely worth it. If you dine in, there are a couple tables, like 6 or 7 I believe. The parking lot is pretty big too. A large lot. Good service, the workers are really friendly and attentive. :)

My son wanted Hawaiian BBQ… so unfortunately we stopped at this joint. This place is really small, only 7 tables, and to top it off… they don’t have a bathroom!!! WTH??? If you need to wash your hands… they have hand sanitizer at the counter. Heaven forbid you need to drop a deuce or empty your bladder. The food was average… at least it was hot. The macaroni had too much mayo and could have used more salt. Other then the fact that this is the closest Hawaiian BBQ spot to me… I don’t see myself wasting another dime at this spot. Pfffff…no bathrooms… what kind of restaurant doesn’t have a bathroom for their customers???

The location here is pretty small but the food here is really good. I love coming here for their short ribs which comes with macaroni salad and rice. The medium size is really fulfilling and their short ribs had tons of flavor. The works seems really nice as well, I give them props because inside the restaurant is super stuffy. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We come in after shopping at the run down Grocery Outlet market in the same shopping center, me in my tank top, shorts, and $ 100 Chacko womens sandals, just like in Hawaii. I’m expecting to see a ‘no shirt, no shoes, no service’ sign, but none of the kind, so I guess I’m overdressed! The overhead menu has pictures and prices mounted on a lighted board overlooking the order counter. The pictures are like the ones in Japan, where customers who don’t speak Japanese can simply point and choose their meal. Here we have customers who don’t feel social, grunt, and hopefuly use their index finger, not middle finger, to point! Both the wife and I order the $ 7.99 ‘healthy choice’ Hawaiian BBQ chicken. Now them’s the menu’s words, not mine, as ‘healthy choice’ is a relative term. ‘Healthy choice’ meal comes with the same four slabs of greasy Hawaiian style grilled BBQ chicken, so full of fat, that when we put the leftovers in the refrigerator, the pool of grease on the bottom, congregates into solid white slabs of grease! The regular bbq chicken comes with white rice, macaroni salad, and the 4 slabs of chicken on a bed of raw cabbage. There is so much grease in the chicken, that the hot grease cooks the raw cabbage! The ‘healthy choice’ version dispenses with the white rice and macaroni salad, and replaces it with brown rice, and a huge miso sauce based iceberg lettuce salad. Same absolutely divine, artery busting greasy chicken! In the middle of our meal a Samoan family walks in. The big Kahuna, with a frizzy pony tail, but NFL lineman size, and nobody to mess with, adds to the ambience of the islands! Which shows what will happen to you, if you eat here too often!

Still good. Comfort food. Greasy. Meaty. Macaroni-Salady. Yum. I wish they had another garbage can further into the restaurant. It’s awkward to toss the trash when people are standing in line in front of it. Good parking lot. I have been on a diet that won’t allow me to eat bread or pasta but I ate a scoop of macaroni. It tastes good but my tummy isn’t too happy. Totally my fault. I have no self control around it.

I’m really not into casting aspersions, brudda, but this was quite possibly the worst saimin I’ve ever had. There, I said it. Let the bad vibes begin. The $ 4.75 Grilled Spam Saimin billed as «The best saimin noodles from Hawaii and served with our specially prepared soup». The reality is that it consisted of two slices of congealed Spam floating on top of a packaged set of noodles that still smelled of the saran wrap in a lackluster broth that was just salty water, all of it housed in a politically incorrect styrofoam container(photo: ). Two slurps, a bit of the Spam, and I was done. Jamie W. was not in as negative palate space since he ordered the $ 7.75 Kahlua Pork with Cabbage, hardly a masterpiece but at least he got a scoop of their macaroni salad and broccoli florets that tasted like they just came out of the pre-packaged bag at Safeway(photo: ). Understand that we only ended up here because Jamie wouldn’t wait in line at Orenchi Ramen. Blame him for my foul mood. At least parking was easy. It’s in a parking lot in Santa Clara after all. FOOD — 1 star… I’m being punished AMBIANCE — 1.5 stars… you’re kidding, right? SERVICE — 1.5 stars… excuse me, I’m here at the counter ready to order TOTAL — 1 star… hey, I’ve been to the Kearny Street one(review: ), so I got no grudge against the chain, brudda
