About Us
A simple poke bowl consists of a base, a topping, and a sauce. At Go Fish Poke, Chef Jerome Ito begins with the simple poke bowl and expands it to a greater dimension. You make each selection: from crab to tuna, atop a base of rice, fresh greens, or chips, in a housemade sauce — from a light citrus ponzu to a savory and spicy Togarashi mayo. No matter the combination created, each ingredient is highlighted and every bowl is balanced.
And that is only one part of Go Fish’s culinary repertoire. To celebrate the Bay Area’s diverse taste, Go Fish also offers fresh Japanese handrolls, vegan and gluten-free options, and evolving weekly specials. We are constantly experimenting with ingredients in our kitchen to only serve what is fresh, delicious, and exciting. From salmon and hamachi belly chirashi to local honey BBQ spare ribs, Chef Ito will always bring something new to the menu.
Meet the Business Owner
Jerome L.
Business Owner
Chef Jerome Ito is a Japanese American Los Angeles native. After completing culinary school, he underwent sushi training with well renowned sushi Chef Andy Matsuda. He was a sushi chef at various restaurants in Santa Monica and Hermosa Beach, CA, before he finally relocated to the bay area to become Head Sushi Chef at Kitchen Sync, Google’s first full sushi bar. At Google, he is known for teaching Sushi 101 classes to Google employees and his weekly pop up specials, including his creative take on Poke. He then launched his catering business, Go Fish by Jerome Ito, in 2014. Jerome enjoys tying in classical Japanese cuisine with modern concepts, which was achieved in his sold out pop up restaurant series: My Japanese Food Affair and Itadakimasu. He is set to open Go Fish Poke Bar in Fall 2015, serving made to order poke, sushi hand rolls; and also featuring some of his signature dishes, such as miso braised short rib and salmon poke with house made garlic furikake.
