At Golden Gate Mechanical, we have expertise in many different areas. Our main focus is commercial HVAC, including installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Our slogan is «It’s easier to ask us what we don’t do!». That being said, we also specialize in electrical work, plumbing, refrigeration, lake and pond maintenance, general construction, remodels, and fire prevention.

Even though our office hours are from 8am to 5pm on weekdays, we have an answering service that takes calls 24 hours a day. If it’s an emergency, we will come out at anytime, rain or shine. We will do whatever it takes to make our customers happy.

History

Established in 1990.

For years we have refined our skills to provide the best service to our customers. We are extremely diversified in the types of work we are able to do. Our experience and knowledge about HVAC/​Heating and Air Conditioning and many other fields, gives our customers piece of mind that the job will be completed efficiently and done right the first time.

Golden Gate Mechanical has been our company HVAC service provider for many, many, years. They are quick, honest, and good at what they do. Our long relationship comes down to trust and going the extra mile for us. And what matters is I can call John and he has me up and running within 24 hours if not quicker.

I wrote a poetic message about the possibility of free estimate with a proposal to start a long prosperous partnership. In response I got an unpleasant message from them and learned they charge $ 30 for travel fee.
If a company can’t travel to the job site on their own dime, I think that says a lot.

Dont call these guys. They wasted my time. I needed ac repair and called them, gave all my information just to have a technician call back and tell me that they do not repair for new customers. What nonsense

I needed repair on my home air conditioner and I got a very high recommendation for Tom Burns at Golden Gate Mechanical from a friend. After having him come out and checking it out, he said the compressor needed to be replaced. It is a 12 year old Lennox system but he thought he could get a replacement. We discussed several options and he was very honest about our options. The quote seemed very reasonable so we went ahead and had him do the replacement. It all went in just fine. His technicians were very polite and efficient. The new unit was a smidge taller but quieter than the old one which was a nice bonus. It was so nice this past weekend as Los Gatos approached 100 deg that the house was nice and cool.
I didn’t find Tom on Unilocal as I would have normally done, but everyone has to start building a base sometime. The other reviews are all commercial whereas he did a home AC for me so I am happy to recommend Tom and Golden Gate Mechanical for residential AC systems as well.

My company’s heating system broke down a few weeks ago in the middle of the
recent freeze we had. I need it to keep my own costumer’s warm in my
business. No one wanted to come and check my heating system. I ask every HVAC
company to help me asap but no one really showed any interest in my problem
except «Golden Gate Mechanical». They knew how important it is to keep
costumers happy, and comfortable. I now have them doing regular
maintenance for the entire facility at my place of business.
When summer roles around they are scheduled to replace that noisy condensing
unit on my roof and fix the leaky air conditioning as well.
So glad I found this company!

I complained to my landlord for the longest time that the heat was not working properly in our office and was super noisey. Finally he told me he’d call an HVAC company to come over and fix it. A day later a worker from Golden Gate Mechanical showed up and said he would be doing work above to fix the heating system and if I had any questions or concerns to let him now. Totally professional and I appreciated the heads up he gave me. He was there a few hours and later came down to tell me the system was fixed. And it sure was as the office warmed right up. I let my landlord know about the great HVAC company he hired and he commented that there price was also extremely reasonable and they would be doing periodic maintanence on the building from now on. What a relief!

My office felt like a freezer box. I was so cold that I had to bring a throw blanket to work. It wasn’t until my boss started about my baby blanket that I called an HVAC company. I found them on a new Bay Area home improvement website called GenieTown (
) and Golden Gate Mechanical came with good reviews from other customers. I’m about to add another good review of my own here and on GenieTown.
The guy they sent out was good. He came. He fixed the problem. He responded when I had questions — I had a lot of questions. And he called me ma’ame when he left.
