History

Established in 1996.

Opened as a 3rd generation restaurant business since 1996 until present time of 2011. We have never changed management, we’ve been here since the beginning. We are a family run business with a home style feel and warm environment where everyone will be treated like family. The front of house is watched by owner/​manager/​wife of Tai Lee, Annie Lee while the back of house (kitchen) is managed by owner/​manager/​chef/​Husband of Annie, Tai Lee. We did go through a bump in the road in 2007 when our restaurant went through a 3 alarm fire and burnt down completely, but we reopened in 2008 and are back on our feet with a brand new building and interior all in the same area because this is our home. We are well known for our hospitality, hand pulled noodles and our fresh ingredients. Our foods are made all by scratch and by hand so that each plate is unique in it’s own way. Each member of the restaurant plays a large part in making us succeed everyday.

There is no world in which the food I ordered and the prices I saw on the menu summed to the price on the check. The food was whatever, service almost non existent, and being overcharged incredibly disrespectful. Never returning, and I suggest you never go.

Literally the best bbq pork fried rice on the planet. Omg! I’ve been going to this place for years… JUST for this rice. Their other food is also always fresh and tasty, but their fried rice is my fave. Visited this past weekend with my little family after being away for about 3 years and it’s still as amazing as I remember it.

China way is another humble Korean– Chinese restaurant located right across from SGD Tofu House. Though parking was a bit sh*ty here, they serve comfort food that is worth trying and affordable.
The Jjajangmyeon was the sole reason I came in for lunch. Texture wise, the noodle was thick and chewy. Taste-​wise, it was decent and isn’t too oily or too savory! Overall, not bad, although I much prefer the Jajjangmyun I had at Tong Soon.
Service was quick and friendly and they even offer a free wifi. I wouldn’t mind coming back to try more of their food, saw the table next to ours ordered Jjampong and it looks so darn delicious!

Plenty of Americanized Chinese food dishes here but I came here for the noodles.
Korean — Chinese fusion ja jiang mien (jajang myun) and 3 flavor noodle (jjampong) were good.
Generous portion and fair prices.
Modest dining area and friendly service. Our waitress was helpful with recommendations and had a smile.
Owner/​chef/​cook is cool. Look for the newspaper clipping on the back wall.

Very expensive for the quality and they won’t give you what you order. We have come here numerous times only for the fact that its the only place you can order sizzling rice soup in the area. I’ll make the sacrafice because we’re never eating here again. They don’t speak any English so the person taking your phone order gives you whatever they feel like. We have a simple order, two soups, but they can’t get it right. If you ask for no seafood they give you extra seafood, if you ask for no veggies they give you broth and all veggies. It’s like they deliberately try to get it wrong. Plus it works out to almost $ 30 for two rather small «large» soups. Never again, never again.

I ordered a pick up order from this restaurant. The service was fast, and easy to order. We ordered the appetizer combo as well as the won ton soup and combination fried rice all very good. My only concern was that the paper wrapped chicken pieces were sticking to the foil but other than that everything was great. I ordered relatively close to closing time and arrived a few minutes late but the gentleman stayed and we were super appreciative that he provided such good customer service, everybody else had left by that time. I think we found our spot if we need a Chinese food fix.

I personally think that the black bean noodles here are delicious! I like how they give you beef+seafood:) For $ 9.25 (including tax), it is a bit pricy, but you leave feeling full and satisfied. Oh, and the kkanpoongi (chicken) was also out of this world~
In terms of the layout, the restaurant looks like it can accommodate around 30 people (unless there’s some private room that I haven’t been to).
The service… could be better. Maybe it’s the language barrier, but one of the waitresses has this gruff voice when asking you questions (I’m sure she’s not mad, but it makes you wonder if she is).
I think they could be a little more careful in terms of being cleaner in the kitchen as well (my friend found a piece of hair in her food, and to compensate, the staff gave us the plate for free-​I really appreciated that); however, one of the complimentary red bean porridge bowls that they gave us as a way to say «Thank you for understanding,» had a piece of pork in it (is it supposed to be like that?)…gah…their food tastes so good, but I wish they’d be more careful!

Who knew? I’m a fan of korean chinese food :). Actually, I think I am just a fan of Ja-​Jang noodle, though generally most of the food I’ve had there is pretty decent. For dumpling purists though I would not recommend the shrimp dumplings. The filling is much more like a seafood mandoo and while the skin is definitely hand rolled dough, it was not fresh (cooked from frozen) so you can prob get better from some local grannies who sell home made frozen dumplings out of their homes, or chinese delis that do the same.

I recently tried their seafood black bean sauce noodle dish which was supposed to be good at this location. It was not too bad. The sauce was not too strong and was also not salty. I was also surprised that this place had very few people for lunch on a Friday. Most other Asian places in the neighborhood tend to be very busy with a long wait time. The hot and sour soup they served was not very good. Even if I am in the neighborhood I would not recommend this place.

Had a craving for jjamppong so I came here for dinner. The lady who seated me and took my order was very nice. After placing my order, the food came super quick (within 7 – 10 minutes). The jjamppong came with lots of noodles and was STACKED with veggies and seafood. The flavor of the soup was good and tasted ‘medium’ in spiciness which was perfect for me (I can’t handle extreme spiciness IE: hot jalapeños). All in all, friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices. I would come back here to re-​satisfy my jjamppong cravings again, and perhaps try the jjajjangmyun too.
**UPDATE**
Came here again and got the 2-​person dinner combo to share with my BF. We got the «C» dinner combo, and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious all of the food was. The various plates of food came out quick after ordering, yet tasted freshly cooked and prepared. Not too greasy or oily like how other cheap Chinese restaurants serve their food. We got mouth-​watering chicken sides (Szechuan chicken, Chinese chicken salad), fresh veggies, good fried rice, delicious sizzling rice soup. The combo for 2 could easily feed 3 – 4 people– we ended up having a lot of leftovers but that just means more food for later :)
Great service with amazing, clean Chinese food– Def coming back more often!

This review is a review from an American’s perspective. The following were all good … wor won ton soup, combo fried rice, beef chow fun and glazed walnut prawns. The GW Prawns were flavorful, plentiful and fairly large. The walnuts were crispy. This dish was $ 15.95 and while this seemed steep I guess it is fair?
They serve Kim Che at the start and finish with orange slices w/​the fortune cookies (good pallet cleanser).

Located next to the vet hospital that the significant other works at, this is his go to lunch spot. Since I don’t work summers, I was finally able to join him here. Upon entering, we were immediately seated and given water, tea, kimchee, and their soup of the day. Their lunch menu is quite extensive with the option of pairing your entrée with chow mein, fried rice, or if you are willing to dish out an extra buck, their hand-​pulled noodles. Definitely try their hand-​pulled noodles because they are super tasty. Since my first time here I have been back and have tried several items such as their Mongolian Beef, Beef and Broccoli, Szechuan Chicken, Combination Chow Fun, Pork Fried Rice, and of course their Hand-​Pulled Noodles. Everything is absolutely delicious and fresh tasting. The only thing that sometimes bothers me when we dine-​in is a small window that they have open and sometimes it smells like cigarette smoke is blowing in. Other than that, I really enjoy this place and would recommend it for anyone looking for some delicious Chinese food on El Camino in Santa Clara.

I came here specifically to eat the Chinese-​Korean dishes, not so much the Americanized Chinese dishes. It’s a little tricky because all the Chinese-​Korean dishes are well, written in Chinese and Korean. If you want to try them, it’s jajamyun (black bean noodles) and jampong (spicy seafood noodle soup).
Both were OK. The jajamyun was a little bland so I added more vinegar to it. The jampong soup base was thin but it did have a medium depth of flavor. I don’t know where they get their yellow radishes from but the ones they serve here are super pickled and tart.
Complimentary dessert includes red bean soup, oranges, and fortune cookies. If I had known, I wouldn’t have eaten so much of my meal! The servers seemed noticeably friendly with all the patrons. We requested a takeout container and they packed up the food for us.

I’ll start this by saying I’m a bit of a chinese food snob. I can’t stand the low quality cuts of meat /​overage of veggies /​grease you find a lot of places. Yes, it’s cheap, but so gross.
Enter my new favorite chinese food restaurant, especially anywhere near Santa Clara. We had so much food. So. Much. Food. But we couldn’t stop eating because everything was absolutely amazing. Try… anything and everything. You really can’t go wrong — but noodles are one of their specialities and it’d be a shame to leave without having some. Other than that, go crazy! Also, this place is super reasonably priced. I wished I lived in the area to visit more often than when I’m in town for work.
