All About Gutters

I called these guys to quote a gutter cleaning service a couple weeks ago. At the time I saw great reviews on this company. I got a quote but then when I tried to book the service these folks never called me back. I literally called them 3 – 4 days, and finally on the 4^th day, I called, left messages, emailed, Unilocaled, etc. and NO One called me back. Seriously unprofessional. If you don’t want my business and changed your mind, just call back or send email to let me know you are unavailable for this service right now. Your phone rang off the hook, then it would give me busy signals, etc. you need to get a better phone system as it was so unprofessional. I don’t deal with second rate companies that don’t call potential customers back. These guys will definitely not be on the call list when I upgrade my gutters!!! Anyway I hope this person treats others with more respect. If you can’t do a service just say so.

Had a small job that required a 6′ gutter with a downspout on my porch. I was also wondering how much it would be for a gutter cleaning. Carolyn was polite and nice on the phone and we set up an appointment for her to come out and give an estimate.
She showed up for her appointment almost 2 hours late. I had to call to find out where she was, as I had some important matter to go attend to. She finally got here and seemed very knowledgeable about what needed to be done, so I wasn’t too sore about the lateness.
To make a long story short, she dodged a couple of my phonecalls wanting to proceed with the gutter install but not the cleaning. (I felt it was too much). Finally talked to her today and she said she wasn’t interested in a small job like mine.
I understand and appreciate that, but why didn’t you tell me you weren’t interested in the first place instead of wasting yours and my time?

I was very happy with the work done by Caroline and her team. They arrived promptly for the gutter cleaning and roofing repairs. Caroline was easy to work with and the job was efficiently done.

My wife and I had an extremely positive (and seamless) experience with this company. Carolyn was very responsive and gave us a reasonable estimate. The workers came when they said they would, were very polite, and did a fantastic job. Carolyn had even recommended a painting company (El Gato) that we ended up using to paint the house prior to the gutter installation. (They were fantastic as well.) Great experience all the way around.

I had them come out in the fall of 2013 to install gutter and downspouts on my house… as I tore them off a few months earlier during a semi-​outdoor renovation where I painted my house.
I feel like I did my research and allaboutgutters appeared to have the best reviews here on Unilocal. I even stopped by and they actually had a store front, not run out of a garage. This business is one of many afvantages of the Bay Area. I had SO MANY selections of gutter companies, and allaboutgutters did what I wanted. All you have to do is ask!
We went with steel gutters and the install was perfect. After this winter, no leaks, all caulking was well done, and paint matching was perfect. Probably most importantly was all corners were riveted, not screwed together like a Home Depot job.
I don’t rememer the owner’s name, but she came out and did the estimate and was on time. She was straight forward, no BS.
I would recommend allaboutgutters to anyone.

AllAboutGutters did a terrific job replacing my home’s entire gutter system. The existing system was history and I took a few quotes from gutter replacement companies. Joe, the estimator, came out to give a quote promptly and honored the appointment time. In fact he was a bit early, which worked for me. He took a look at my gutter system, measured it and explained in detail the types of gutters, colors, durability and costs. He had also brought along with him actual gutter samples which helped visualize what the final product would look like. Moreover, he handed over color samples, not only the one on paper, but actual colored samples of aluminum. That really helped me a lot with the decision. They have a decent website and they also came highly recommended at my workplace, where employees take recommendations from fellow employees. I got a few other quotes from other companies and Carolyn, the owner, was competitve with her bid. I signed them up and scheduled the appointment for the job. On the day, the crew arrived on time, replaced the gutters and downspouts with the color of our choice, cleaned up nicely at the end. All in all — a great job. Carolyn and her team are thoroughly professional and overall nice people to work with.

I’m surprised at the negative reviews.
I discounted the rants and called them. I had a really good conversation with Carolyn, the owner. She was not only knowledgeable but a lot of fun too. I gave her my rough dimensions and she gave me a budgetary quote on the phone.
Velid, one of her project managers, came up to give a firm quote. He was knowledgeable, professional and gave good advice. He gave me several options and didn’t push for the more expensive ones.
The final quote was the same as the budgetary one given on the phone. We signed the agreement last Thursday and it is now just after 3PM on Monday and the job is complete. The work area is clean. While it’ll be a while before the rainy season begins, I’m confident the gutters will perform well.
There are a lot of options in terms of getting gutter contractors and I’m very pleased with how they did.

Thanks to Carol and her team at All About Gutters, I now have a much dryer house and back yard.
They installed new gutters for me a couple of months ago — the work was done very professionally, the crew installed and cleaned up spotlessly, almost wouldn’t know they’d been here except for all the nice new gutters and downspouts. I was waiting until our first heavy rains to see how they actually performed. This week it poured!
Unlike last year, I don’t have pooling water in my back or side yard. I don’t have rain coming directly off the roof. Although I had gutters before, they were inadequate to deal with the volume of rain we get and in an older style, and had some patchwork fixes that had been applied, ineffectively, before we moved here. All About Gutters assessed the situation, explained my options, and helped me make a good choice.
In addition, in terms of the customer service they provided, I had the opposite experience from some other reviewers here. I’m pretty busy in the course of a week and was bad about following up with making color choices, scheduling our first assessment and installation times, etc. They were very patient with me and continued to follow up about the details in advance so that everything went smoothly. I recommend them highly.

Excellent gutter install: great work, plus very responsive, professional and fast every step of the way. They were recommended to me by a trusted contractor and I can see why he has such confidence in them. Both the owner and her gutter install crew were very experienced and a true pleasure to work with. I recommend them highly.
Update:
It’s 9 months later and I’m still singing their praises. Our new gutters are working great in the rain. Of all the contractors I worked with Caroline is the most responsive and her team the easiest to work with. They are very good at what they do: reliable, quick, professional.
I am mystified by that bad review that says they are unresponsive. Not only were they very responsive with me, but I have recommended them to two families since they did the great gutter install for us, both of those families report excellent customer service.

Very professional and friendly while getting estimate and asking questions. Took the time to explain processes and they got right back to me when I called. I received an estimate right away and I was ready to send a check for the deposit, the only company out of five I researched that required a deposit, I noticed an advertised discount on Yahoo and Unilocal that would have lowered my cost by about $ 38.00. The owner told me I had to mention the add before the estimate was given and I had already received a fare price. The add does not state that requirement. Does this mean the discount is based on an inflated price? I got an email from them refusing the discount so I went elsewhere. Not because of the $ 38. but I figure if they don’t honor a small request like that, how would they handle other problems I might have down the road with the gutters? Not sure about their overall customer service, but didn’t like the response I got.

I requested on-​site evaluation of current gutters, recommendation, and estimate. Carolyn came out, surveyed our gutters and downspouts, made measurements, and suggested several improvements (e.g., leaf guards on one side of the house, larger gutters, etc.). She submitted an estimate a couple of days later, we negotiated a small reduction, and then she scheduled the work for the following week.
The work was finished on schedule, in a day and a half. The on-​site crew was professional, communicated with us, and the work appears to be of excellent quality.

All About Gutters took care of the installation of gutters for an addition in the back of our home. The style, finish and detail of the work was excellent. The job was done in a couple hour and very reasonably priced. We recently had them come out to clear a clog that had developed due to trees over head. For the same price as fixing the clog, they checked and cleaned the entire set of gutters around the home. And when they found they were going to have to remove the downspout to clear the clog, they didn’t charge extra. When it was put back, it was seamless, like it had never been removed. They even offered a repeat customer discount. There was a little back and forth coordinating a time, but it all worked out.

I’ve used All About Gutters more than once. However a recent experience obliges me to write this review. The first visit was great as the owner selected a solid crew who came out and washed the gutters out completely and place drain spout protectors to block leaves from accumulating in angled areas. They also have insurance that covers their subcontractors they hire, which was what initially sold me
However, the 2^nd visit, the owner sent out a different gutter crew. They did not come on the time we arranged (but early) when I stated I would not be home. So by the time I came home, they said they were done. I have no idea what happened but I assumed that they got the work done. I later found out that they had taken the spout protectors out and forgot to place them back into the downspout areas. They left the downspout protector on our deck instead.
I have contacted the owner previously to reinstall the downspout protectors. I asked her to do so as she wanted me to write a good Unilocal review. She called back once to acknowledge but never came to send out crew to replace the missing downspout. To this day, no response. No fix. = Me not writing a Unilocal review.
The owner also tried to sell me on cleaning out dryer vents, which I tried. The same 2^nd crew also failed to connect my dryer tubing from dryer to vent hole. They removed the tape without retaping the tube back to the dryer or vent wall. As a result, this weekend (upon cleaning dryer) I found that we had lint all over the back side of our dryer room. Had I not checked, I would have had lint accumulating for years. I ended up going to Home Depot to buy new tubing and tape and tube clamps to reconnect our dryer to our vents. To say the least, I was not happy having to make this extra trip and squeezing into the backside of my dryer contorting my body to fix this … but since the owner failed to return my previous calls, I have no choice but to be DIY.
Now writing the Unilocal review because I have to.

These guys were fabulous. I am sorry the first reviewer was unable to connect with them, because they did a wonderful job on my gutters and power washing all the cement around my home. They were fairly priced, professional and respectful of my home. They protected my new plants, were concerned about my property and cleaned up after themselves. The owner gave me what I consider a very fair price. I won’t know if the gutters work until it rains, but if they work as well as they look, I am very pleased. If you have a hard time connecting, keep trying. It’s worth it!

All About Gutters is unprofessional and a waste of time. I called twice to set up an appointment for a gutter repair job and never received a call back. That should have warned me. But I called again and reached the owner, explained my job and was asked to send in digital photos of the repairs so they could give me an estimate. That seemed reasonable so I took the pictures and e-​mailed them but never heard back. Don’t waste your time with these people.
