History

Established in 1992.

I have been entertaining audiences in the Bay Area for over 30 years with my blend of comedy and magic. It was just a side job then, but after getting laid off from my Marketing position at Fujitsu, I decided to follow my passion. I am proud to say that I have been making a living doing what I love for over 20 years! Yikes, that’s a long time. And when you see my show, you will see smiles and laughter on everyone’s faces. Phil came to perform his magic show at my daughter’s seventh birthday party. We had about seventeen kids here and they were so excited when Phil came to the door. His set up was easy and he didn’t need a lot of room. He did a great show and the kids absolutely loved it. His humor is also aimed toward the adults too. Some of the other mothers thought he was hilarious!
One of the high lights was when Phil levitated my daughter, there were lots of gasps from the kids! The last part of the show was Buster the bunny, no magic show is complete without the rabbit right!
I highly recommend Phil for any events, adults or children!

We have invited Phil to our home twice. Once for my husbands BD and once
around Christmas time with all of our grand children. We all enjoyed the magic that Phil created! The kids enjoyed participating and tried to «figure out» how Phil performed his magic
tricks…but were unsuccessful. Fun was had by all, young and old alike. I highly recommend
Phil to entertain at your next gathering.

My husband & I booked Phil’s show for my son’s 6th birthday party, in December 2015. I learned of Phil from here, on Unilocal.We were very impressed; Phil’s performance was interactive and entertaining for the children as well as the parents, who stayed. Phil’s presentation was age appropriate and engaging for the all of the children. He made my son the star of the show – he was levitated and got to hold the bunny! Phil was also very good at controlling the crowd of 4 — 6 year olds; he was good at keeping the children away from the stage, quiet, and focused. .. and without raising his voice! Phil even had goodie bags for the children to take home! I highly recommend Phil’s magic show!

I highly recommend Phil Ackerly magic! I hired him to come to a magic show and magic lessons for 12 kids and he was AWESOME! His tricks were great and believable, his props were first class and he had the kids and the adults in stitches laughing from all of his great jokes. He was able to teach a few great tricks to the kids which they loved, and was very patient and explained them really well. I would hire him again in a heartbeat and would recommend him to all of my friends for kids and adults!!!

We want to make Jake’s 90th birthday party a memorable one and Phil did a AWESOME job. He’s a great Illusionist… Funny, had great sense of humor and did an EXCEPTIONAL job in entertaining all of us. We were all impressed. Everyone loved the finale, where Phil had to cut the newspaper into pieces and voila… the paper went back to one piece with Jake’s picture and his life story on the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle «just amazing»…I would definitely recommend him.

I had Phil come perform his show for my sons 1st Birthday! I had seen his performance at my nephews birthday and I was impressed with his show. So… he came, he performed and he DELIVERED!!! All the children and even the adults had a blast. Love the way he gets the entire party involved. He levitated my 6 yr old son and everybody was amazed (how the heck did he do that. The last part of his act was the best way to close the show… a RABBIT IN THE HAT!!! Super cute lil Rabbit that everybody loved. I would definitely recommend Ackerly Entertainment for any event!!!

My husband and I loved watching Phil perform magic at Morocco’s Restaurant in Mountain view! We had the best time as Phil entertained diners table-​side before the official start of the show! He’s charming and has a great sense of humor, as he amazed us with his slight-​of-​hand. The show was fun to watch, and I’m still trying to figure out how he levitated that table before our eyes.. Definitely thumbs up! Oh … ‘And the food at Morocco’s is wonderful, too!

We hired Phil for our annual Superbowl Party, where 150+ people attend, and about half of them are kids. Both the kids AND adults were equally entertained! Phil is funny, had a great attitude, and is very easy to work with. His show is a kick to watch and everyone really enjoyed his performance! Good tricks and great humor.
He was flexible with our plans and quick to accommodate our needs. He’s a good communicator and always promptly followed up with my phone calls or emails. I would definately work with him again.

We first saw Phil at our friend’s party and my youngest daughter saw him again at her pre-​school. We hired him for our older daughter, Megan’s 9th birthday party few months ago in our backyard and he was a hit with the kids! He tailored his show to audience. I know because I have watched him at a mixed party. So at this party, it was very mild for the adults. But such an awesome time the 9-​year olds had! Phil did a show at my son’s school this last Thursday night. It was a room full of about 100 or so kindergartners to 4th grade age kids and parents.
Great crowd control. Funny jokes, definitely geared towards kids. He was great. I was sitting back with the parents, but kept watching my son participate by raising his hand, shouting with Phil asked them to shout, etc. The next morning, my son woke up and said he dreamed about «doing real magic.»
He’s great. He’s good with kids and I’d happily recommend him.

Phil came to our house to celebrate a birthday for our daughter’s 8th birthday. How very fun! He was great with communication, clear on expectations, and engaged the kids and adults throughout his show. Our daughter said afterwards that it was the Birthday Party of her dreams. Phil was inclusive of all the children at the show, but paid extra-​special attention to the birthday girl.

Phil presented at our Cub Scout pack night which included 50 cub scouts (ages 6 – 10) and about 70 parents. What a job! Here is the feedback from our Cub Scout leaders:
«My kids loved the show. The Pack has hired other magicians and he was hands down the best I’ve seen. He also attempted to put a few scouting remarks in there. Nice.»
«He was energetic, enthusiastic and had good control of the audience. His actual feats of magic were ok but his presentation was excellent given his audience. Keep in mind that having seen David Blaine, I would only give someone like him a 10.»
«I had to leave early so I didn’t see the entire show. I liked the sword trick. My kids really liked him.»
«Great entertainer, very supportive of scouts, patient with crazy/​loud kids, and actually DID pull a rabbit out of his hat, so I thought he was one of the highlights of this year.»
