Dance With Ceech

Enjoyed learning choreography with Ceech and my wife and I were able to pull off a surprise dance which was great (just a little hiccup with the DJ). Ceech knows his stuff! He will break it down and make sure you know what you’re doing and you’re prepared he even helped modify what we wanted to learn to help with our situation with my wife being in her wedding dress and all. Thanks Ceech! We couldn’t have done it without you!

I took two semesters of hip hop classes from Ceech and it’s awesome! I have been in jazz dance, modern dance, ballet, and other dance classes, and this is the best one I that would repeat! Ceech is enthusiastic and not to mention he dances really cool, and he knows how to bring people into the dance, and connect students into a group instead of individuals that dance on their own.
For the Mission College classes I take, we cover one or two sets of choreography each semester and there is an optional public performance for each of them. It’s optional but I highly recommend everyone to go for it because it’s so much fun to dance on stage and it will be your life time memory (at least for me ^_​^)
Well, you never know when you need to dance… Last month I have a chance to be on a TV show and I am asked to show some «talent» (which I don’t think I have any). Guess what, I just show them what I learned from Ceech’s class and it rocks!

This has to be the best dance class in Silicon Valley. Ceech is a wonderful teacher.

A few years ago, my then boyfriend and I stumbled across Ceech’s hip hop class at Mission College. I’ve taken a few dance classes at other studios before, but Ceech’s class was completely different. He makes it a point to have everyone get to know one another, so you feel comfortable dancing with each other, and as a result, form a fun, friendly environment. We enjoyed his class so much, we also started taking private lessons with him as well.
As an instructor, he is willing to share his knowledge about the dance and even encourages you to check out classes from other instructors too. While some of the other classes I’ve taken primarily focuses on learning choreography, Ceech promotes a balance of choreo and freestyle, in order to become a well-​rounded dancer. In addition, he takes the time to figure out the best way (s) to teach you the move/​style/​feel, depending on your skill level.
Honestly, you can’t go wrong if you check out one of his classes or take private lessons from him. You get to meet a great guy, have fun, and learn how to dance!

Dance with Ceech
When I first started taking classes with Ceech, I was still pretty new to hip hop and just starting to develop my rhythm and style in it. Ceech started with and taught me the very basics and in under a year, and I was confident to move onto more complicated moves and even perform with other students. I always had a blast in class and whenever we had a show, and as the years went by, everything began to come to me more naturally and I was able to start free styling. Not only is Ceech an awesome dance instructor, but he’s a great person. He’s genuine, friendly, extremely patient, and choreographs some pretty awesome routines ! I would definitely recommend him to anyone serious about learning the craft. Thanks Ceech!

I could literally write an essay about how this guy is hands down the best hip hop dance teacher in the bay area, but I’ll give you a summary of why I feel this guy is 5 star across the board.
1. Lives and breathes music and dance — His understanding of the two and the part that they play in his life come out so transparently in the passion he puts into not only is dance but the way that he teaches.
2. An amazing Teacher — He has a way of breaking down complicated dance moves into simple instructions so that your mind can process them. «Pretend there is a drum in front of you that you have to hit with your head by bowing». Each person is different and he has a way of changing that instruction up depending on the student so they get it
3. Dances at your level — Believe me Ceech is an amazing dancer, however he knows that everyone is at a different place and people have different goals. Our first lesson was a conversation on what I wanted to get out of hip hop dancing.
4. Starts with a foundation — Since my skill is not very high, I appreciated this so much. Ceech started me off with just feeling out the music and getting into the groove of it. Once I had a good handle on that, we started building from those foundational moves and I feel ultimately this has and will continue to make me a better dancer
5. Patient and respectful — Not getting it? No problem. Ceech takes his time to really make sure the moves sync in. I have never felt that he was moving too fast.
6. A damn cool guy — Outside of being a great teacher, Ceech is an amazing and friendly person. Someone you want to be around for his positive energy.
He’s influenced so many well known dancers in the bay area and I feel lucky to be learning from him. Thank you CEECH

If you are looking to learn hip hop, check out Ceech’s class –beginners and intermediate sessions. Ceech is friendly, approachable, and passionate about what he does. Folks that worry about no prior dance experience should not turn away. There are lots of drills to practice the moves that you will learn. At the end of the course you will know a dance choreo and get to perform in front of an audience with your classmates! It might be uncomfortable at first hearing that but if you do practice then you don’t have to worry as much. You get to learn a lot from Ceech. Every time I go to his class I learn something new from him and improving my dance skills. I have visited a few dance studios and most dance instructors don’t seem passionate about their job. Also some instructors dont know the name of the moves and give poor dance guidance. Ceech is patient and works with everyone. Come check out his class because you will get to learn a variety of things like locking, popping, dance choreo etc.

I’ve taken about a year of dance classes with Ceech, and it’s been a great experience. He’s great at motivating beginners and helping them build the foundation movements for more advanced moves. Sometimes his former/​current students (some of whom dance professionally now), come visit the class to share their experiences with competing and dancing full-​time. Others formed dance groups that compete in local competitions, and they also come to our class to tutor and practice with us. The students end up forming a community around his classes. I think it’s because he also imparts the thinking and the feeling behind hip-​hop, so even those of us who aren’t great at dancing get a better idea of the hip-​hop community, and he keeps it fun enough that most of us keep trying to get better. His classes are pretty unique, cuz I’ve taken other hip hop classes at 3 different places before, and in most classes, we’re just trying to stare at the teacher and mimic their movements as best we can. I couldn’t really dance until I took Ceech’s class. Now some of my classmates say I’ve improved a lot ^_​^ More importantly, it’s fun for me now.

Ceech is an amazing dance instructor and mentor. He has an innate almost spiritual method that inspires and instructs. The man teaches dance but infuses life lessons and character building. I have had the distinct honor of seeing him teach and perform over many years. He is a local legend in dance. You cannot go wrong with Ceech.

I feel really lucky to have Ceech as my first hip hop instructor! I joined the class just for fun and relax but it is Ceech who let me want to achieve more! Every dance class relieves me from a long day of work. Even better, I find something I’m willing to spend time on since practice in his way really works efficiently:)

Ceech! Where do I start?. He is an amazing individual. Not just as a dancer/​performer, but as a person. He’s one of the most selfless people I have ever met. I love how welcomed and invited I feel when I see him. There is always at least one person that has left an impact on you and it doesn’t matter how big or small it is. He has seen potential in me and my dancing. I keep striving till this day to make all my teachers proud. I can say that he is one of them. Now, as I teach… I know the feeling of reward when your students succeed. It feels like you shared their successes and failures too, but it teaches you to never give up. Always stick with what you love and enjoy!

Ceech is the best hip hop and pop and locking instructor ever! Taking hip hop classes with him was awesome! He took my dancing experience to a whole other level. He makes the class fun and supports you and goes the extra mile if you need help. Whether you are a beginner or advanced there is a spot for you. There’s different classes and everyone supports and helps one another. I truly miss taking dance with Ceech whenever I have the time again I will definitely re enroll. I recommend dancing with Ceech to anyone who has a passion for dancing and just wants to have fun! Ceech you truly are amazing!

He is such an amazing dance teacher. If you are looking to learn how to dance, he is the best teacher to teach you. The class is super fun, and you get to make new friends. Ceech is very respectful and understanding if you don’t have any dance experience, and he is ready to teach you. He has taught me so many dance moves, and my self confidence has raised up. Would definitely take his class if you are willing to learn, and go beyond your fears.

I can’t say enough about this guy. He’s a great teacher – totally patient and respectful to all level of dancers. He has a genuine love for dance and has always been nothing but encouraging to his students. I had taken classes and private lessons with him, and have learned much that I can even take onto the dance floor. He’s given me the confidence to just go out and get down some and have a great time dancing.
For anyone who is looking to learn any type of urban style hip hop and funk style dance, I’d definitely recommend checking out some time with Ceech. His positive energy is infectious and his experience in dance is a marvel to many. To this day, i still consider him my teacher, and am grateful for all that i’ve learned from him.

This review is directed to anyone, beginner or advanced, who wants to wants to have a great time learning or mastering dance. When I started working with Ceech, I had no previous dance experience (with the exception of looking ridiculous on the dance floor at a club Friday night).
Ceech is a true master of his craft and he continually demonstrates this in his teaching. It takes more than just pure skill to be a good teacher; it takes a whole lot of patience. I originally decided to sign up for ten private dance lessons (which I completed and promptly signed up for another ten). I never thought I would make so much positive progress and have so much fun under the instruction of Ceech.
