The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

First off, I love love love CBTL. My go to drink is the vanilla iced coffee. I know, it’s basic but SO GOOD. I also happen to be a huge ice lover, and CBTL has the best ice ever! I usually order extra ice in my drink, usually this means less drink in order to make room for the extra ice. It’s a trade-​off I’m willing to make. There have only been two places in which the barista gives me a larger cup size (without my asking) so that I get the same amount of coffee. Those two places are the CBTL in Huntington Beach & this CBTL. So, mad props, I truly do appreciate the little things.
Also, I want to recognize the barista who was working today. I was here studying a while ago, and a middle-​aged couple had come in with questions about the coffee. Turns out they had come in there to bash the company because of some religious reasons they disagreed with. They targeted the barista, who was the same barista that was there today, and he stood there quietly and respectfully declining to answer the interrogative questions thrown at him. Not an easy thing to do, and unfortunately no one said anything (me included). But yeah, I do appreciate the professionalism and care that these baristas show even when being persecuted! Good job, CBTL, you beat Starbucks anyday imo.

My wife and I have been coming here for 8 years. The staff is very friendly. They always greet us by name, and they have our drink orders memorized. My favorite drink here is an Extreme Ultimate Ice Blended Vanilla. Don’t order this if you have a low tolerance for caffeine, as it’s about 8 shots worth. For me, it’s the perfect drink.

Great pastry place with refresing drinks! lots of place to just sit and do your work HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I stopped in here Thanksgiving morning to pick up a drink to go after just flying into town. The ladies working behind the counter were super friendly.
I don’t often choose this location as the parking is sometimes difficult and it’s too dark in the store. I like the more open and brighter locations. They make good drinks though and I will continue to return if I’m nearby.

Love this place, the staff are friendly & quick, Orchard Peach Iced Tea is refreshing when it’s hot out… lots of tables & free Wifi.
I was finding the wifi really slow today, then I looked up & realized why: There were about 8 people using the wifi & only about TWO of us in there had bought anything from CBTL !!! & a couple regular ‘visitors’ had been there over 3hrs & weren’t nursing any drinks/​food at all !!! Mind you everyone in there was 40s & 50s, & we are old enough to afford a coffee if we have a laptop!!!

Great service. Drink was ready by the time we were done paying! Love the flexibility of being able to get «no sugar added» on most drinks. Saves me calories!

Fast & Friendly, just wish they had a little more variety in their iced teas. Their Take-​it-​home /​Brew-​it-​yourself selection is good as well

The café mocha here is my favorite. Lots of different options for coffee, tea and other drinks.

Great location without of comfy seating and free wifi as always. I pulled out my laptop and spent sometime working while I was waiting for a friend. And it was perfect.
Cappuccino in a ceramic cup!!!
And a tropical passion iced tea to go!!!

Love this place!!! It’s my go to coffee/​study spot… everyone is always really friendly. I love that there are outlets all along the bench seating. If only they were open later but it’s ok. I still love going here over Starbucks

I used to do work from this location. I love it. Although sometimes their wifi can be slow which gets annoying especially when you have a deadline or something. But the staff is friendly, store clean.

I Wish that they would open some Cofee Bean in The Bay Area ! I would be there all the time doing homework or studying if it’s near by home .
I love that the coffee is just so good alone ! Black or with milk, still yummy !
I’ve been ordering the Mocha Blended the last couple days I’ve been going here. I didn’t want any milk and just wanted more coffee to my mocha blend, and that style is called the Extreme (no milk, more coffee) and it tastes just as good :)

Mixed experiences. Sometimes the staff is very pleasant and sometimes they are somewhat cold and unfriendly.
Love the location but their wifi is extremely slow. I couldn’t even do my work.
Faster internet and friendlier staff would get them 5 stars.

CBTL is awesome because their Black Forest blended drink is the best blended drink on the planet! I get mine without whip because I don’t like the froth it creates. Also they just started serving Thai Tea, although I haven’t tried it. I typically order that at a Thai place or boba place. Any who, if you see one make sure you stop in for a Black Forest!

I love this place. The staff is probably hotter than the coffee! There’s a barista named Ryan who looks like an Italian Ryan Gossling. Kris, the store’s only Cuban employee, makes me very excited that relations with his home country are better again — Cuba might be my next vacation spot! Ricardo is too young for me to spill my thoughts about. I don’t want to go to jail! The girls are all models with winning smiles and friendly demeanors although I’m worried about Hannah’s caloric intake — she looks famished. Eat a sandwich, girlfriend! The only fly in the ointment is the manager, Dave. He’s violently bald with an overly aggressive manner. Plus his tattoos scare me. Other than that, great store! I highly recommend!

I don’t always drink coffee, but when I do, I usually go to this CBTL. Excellent coffees and I love the ice blended drinks as well. I don’t know what the heck Alex H. Is talking about. Or why he would ever give 1 star?! He must’ve been having a bad day because the staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful every time I go in there. Nobody has ever been rude to me or any of the other customers for that matter. No complaints here :)

This is my new place to hang out before I go to therapy right across the street near Western Medical Center :) I love the Pomegranate Blueberry Ice Blended, IT’S DELICIOUS! I like the ambient of this place, nice quiet place :) And I love to sit there and watch people, listen to music on my iPod, or use the wi-​fi.

I come here every other day of the month and so far it’s been a pretty great location. The baristas are really nice and make my drinks in a timely manner. I love the fact that they offer almond/​coconut milk. It’s a clean location and doesn’t get too crowded, at least the times I have gone. I wish they had a rewards program similar to Starbucks, but that’s not this particular location’s decision: p

Nice Coffee Bean. It’s good-​sized with comfortable seating, inside and outside. The same employees have been working there a long time, which is a big plus. The manager Dave even knows your name, and remembers your drink. He and his staff make the service experience all the better. Overall, a very nice spot.
