Skyline at MacArthur Place

I’ve lived here with my husband and 4 year old for about 7 months. If there was anything that needed a little bit of work it would be the dog park area. a lot of spoiled brats don’t pick up after their pets. And you can tell it’s the same people! I started having to take my dogs to the front of the apartment on the street bc the dog park area was absolutely gross. apartment staff cleans thoroughly everyday, picking up and hosing down the entire area so really my issue here is with some of the disgusting tenants who like to leave dog poo behind even when the poo bags are fully stocked in the dog park and right outside the park as well.
What did I love about this place? First off the view and units itself are amazing. high end Viking appliances, huge center island in the kitchen, sturdy fixtures, and that deep bathtub! Special events, food trucks and food vendors are a regular thing here. Amenities were always available and clean! Ok maybe once or twice the hot tub wasn’t as hot or there weren’t any clean towels in the spa area but really, for the most part the staff here does an amazing job preparing, cleaning, and keeping up with maintenance requests. Loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer!

We just transferred to a new unit and couldn’t be happier. Old unit was small and quaint, but we heard a lot of random banging and it drove us to look elsewhere. Nadia and Sue from leasing were extremely patient and friendly in helping us find another unit and we are greatful!

Did a tour with my son and absolutely loved this building. It has such a beautiful view and lake. The staff seems really nice and the building was extremely clean. They have a really nice gym and large salt water pool. The units have really nice viking appliances with huge kitchen islands.

I recently moved in to Essex Skyline and I can’t be happier! The Essex Skyline leasing team, especially Susan Curran, have made this transition just wonderful! The entire Essex skyline staff are so very friendly, and are there to help with anything that you need. I can honestly say that I have never lived in such a wonderful community! The worst maintenance service!
The washer was not working right, they could not fix it, then told us that they would replace it. When we were waiting for the replacement. Skyline changed their mind, they wouldn’t replace it and it became our problem that we didn’t know how to use a washer — -They emailed us a link about how to use a washer. Do I not know how to use a washer? How many years I have been using it??? I live here and I want to say good things about this place, but I cannot because the maintenance service here sucks

I’ve never experienced vertical living so I was very hesitant moving in at first. I was fearful of getting noisy neighbors, not having any personal space, and just feeling… «cramped.»
I was wrong, very very wrong.
Living at Skyline at MacArthur Place is surprisingly quiet — I don’t hear my neighbors thanks to thick walls between the units and people keep to themselves which affords me the privacy I like. However, there’s plenty of social events within the community so if you are up for socializing, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to meet and hang out with your neighbors.
I’ve had no complaints living here — it’s super safe, very convenient (located in such a prime spot but because it’s located in a «nook,» it has a secluded feel which is nice), and the staff is SUPERB (special shout-​out to Anne Vallone — she’s among the sweetest and kind lady you’ll ever meet).
If you’re interested in vertical living, I’d highly recommend you check out this amazing gem.

The residence office is the worst ever. How is it happen when you paying high rent with this low quality service? Unbelievable!

Part 2
The move out process was the worst! Our lease was supposed to end on October 9^th but since we had already found a place, I emailed Tanya to see what the process would be to leave earlier only to have Kayla respond back to me. That was actually a regular with Tanya. Whenever I emailed her with an issue, someone else responded. We were told that we would be rent responsible until the end of our lease term unless a new resident takes up our unit and we were fine with that on the condition that we are given an accurate move in date for the other tenants. (They even sent us paperwork to sign stating that we’d be responsible, which we never signed and management didn’t even notice, which goes to show how unorganized they are). I asked Kayla maybe 4 times in the same conversation if there’d be any fees or any other additional costs of going this method. I was informed that there was nothing additional as long as we moved out and they moved in. We even talk about a hypothetical situation where if I «moved out on the 3^rd and the new tenant moved in on the 4^th» I would not be charged anything. After agreeing, Kayla emails me about how they need 6 – 7 days turnaround time to prep the unit and that we’d be responsible for that 6 – 7 days. Hello, where was this bit of information when I asked before! Regardless, my husband still wanted to go through with the move if a potential tenant was found. Fast forward, they find a tenant to move in September 9^th, so we give them a move out date of September 3^rd, 6 days. Just a note, we’re staying at a hotel during this time because we don’t want to be responsible for rent at 2 different places. On September 9^th, they don’t call us, we call them and they tell us that the tenants moved up their date to September 13^th for «personal reasons». While we’re not happy, we have no choice but to agree. On September 13^th, they call us this time to tell us that the date changed again to the next day, the 14^th. Again, not happy but we go along with it, because hey, one more day. On the morning of the 14^th, right before we sign the lease for the new place, I call Skyline and asked Angelica if the new residents had taken possession, she says yes they did, they signed the electronic lease. I ask her if she’s sure, so she asks Miriam, and I could here Miriam say, oh yes I already checked they signed the lease. Finally! All done! We sign our new lease and just as were about to move in, we get a call around 4 pm saying that the new tenants changed their date to the 15^th. What!!! We were just told they already signed the lease. To our surprise, they never actually signed the lease and we were flat out lied to by Miriam! We are understandingly upset at this point. After a ton of back and forth, the residents finally moved in the next day! My gripe in all this, if someone wasn’t paying rent for a vacant unit, they would’ve either penalized the prospective tenants for changing the date or would’ve put the unit back on the market for others to rent it. But because they had someone to charge, they took full advantage. They had nothing in place to have the unit rented as soon as possible, especially after accepting a deposit for the tenants. I’m not going to say not rent here just because of the management because quite honestly the units are beautiful and the views are breathtaking, but only if you’re willing to deal with a management team that’s not only unprofessional and unorganized but one that lies, ignores simple requests or «hides» information.
Now, the good, surprisingly, there is some. With all the planes landing right outside our window, we never heard any engines or outside road noise. Glass was pretty sound proof. Resident events were well planned and coordinated. Anne, the event director is still there after 5 years and was a pleasure to see around the property. The grounds were always clean. Dog accidents, beer bottles, litter in the garage were a regular at skyline but the maintenance staff made sure to clean everything promptly. The location, freeways, South Coast Plaza, and other shopping centers all nearby. Hutton centre lake was our favorite. Both my kids learned how to walk around that lake and now they’re in school! And lastly, the view! Can’t beat the view these towers offer.
Ultimately, for us, it came down to the daily grind. We couldn’t enjoy our unit to the fullest. When you pay for something, (and especially something expensive) you want it to be worth it. And being there 5 years, we’ve seen Essex at its best and know the advantages of corporate hiring a good management team. Now, it has become quantity over quality, which is a shame because again, a property that beautiful, it deserves to be managed properly.

The best thing about living in the Essex Skyline is the community. I’ve met fascinating neighbors from all walks of life living their dreams. It’s filled with entrepreneurs and creative business women/​men. People ask me why I live here and I say, «because being here inspires me!»
My unit has real hardwood floors, Viking appliances and an amazing view. I’m blessed to face the lake and airport. I just love seeing the airplanes!
The management and staff here are super friendly. A special shout out to Anne Vallone (Event Coordinator) and Tanya Arcilla (Management). They have made my experience here memorable by getting to know me as a person and hosting fun events for the community from wine tastings, chef cooking demos, charity fashion shows and spa /​massage days.
Yes, sometimes things go wrong, but it’s usually an isolated or short lived problem that can happen in any apartment complex. I exercise tolerance and seek correction when needed.
What I do love about this place is that it’s dog friendly, they have a steam room in both the men and women spa areas, free coffee in the kitchen/​lounge and getting to your apartment from the parking garage is just a quick elevator ride up to your floor.

Skyline is a beautiful property with great views, high end interior finishes, and is in a great location that is close to main freeways, the airport, lots of shopping, beaches and many restaurants.
There is 24 hour security and concierge as well as secured parking. The on site maintenance and office staff are super friendly, very responsive and always working to make sure residents are well taken care of and needs are addressed.
The pool area, bbq grills, lounges, gym, spa and other amenities are excellent.
I have had several great experiences working with Samantha Hopkins. She is so friendly, professional and responsive. I really appreciate her and how much she does to make sure we are happy and comfortable in our home.
We have lived at the Skyline for going on two years. Previously we lived in a tower downtown Los Angeles for several years. Before that I have lived in my own residence.
There is no comparison between Skyline and my experience living dtla. Skyline’s high end interior finishes like real wood floors, floor to ceiling windows and professional appliances makes it feel like you are not living in an apartment.
Beyond the building and location, the biggest difference is the quality of the Skyline staff. At the front desk, in maintenance and in the office. As I mentioned above they are super friendly, responsive and really treat residents well. It is easy to request maintenance and they usually come within an hour or two. They even change light bulbs.
The excellent staff makes a big difference with our overall satisfaction living at Skyline. That, with our prime location in OC, our miles of views that include Disney fireworks and the Santa Ana mountains makes us never want to leave.

i wish we could give this place negative stars. we’ve lived here for two years. the first year was great. second year was HORRIBLE! a smoker moved in next door. The building was clearly built horribly and the smoke actually comes through outlets and anything that connects your wall to your smoking neighbors wall. now you might ask yourself, why do they even allow people to smoke INSIDE their units here? it’s 2014 in california! well, they do. and if you don’t smoke and don’t want second hand smoke i wouldn’t suggest living here. 6 months and no solution to our issue. all the while getting horrible second hand smoke. and it was HORRIBLE! our carpet yellowed. the plugs that were plugged into the outlets turned yellow! so gross! for paying $ 3100 a month to live in this building i should not have to deal with someone else’s disgusting smoke. even at places like Irvine company have designated smoking buildings if their property even allows smoking. and those places rent for $ 1800. UNACCEPTABLE! the only solution to our problem was he moved out of the country for 5 months. they said they weren’t going to let him renew his lease and even called us into the office to ask us if we would be ok with him renewing his lease. we obviously said no! because they NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM! so he moved out at the first of the year and two weeks later, ANOTHER SMOKER! so you don’t allow a smoker to renew their lease and ASK US if that’s really what we want and we say yes, then you have ANOTHER smoker move in?! YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!!! on top of this they thought it would be a good idea to raise our rent by 10%!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA after all this you think we’d accept that. no compensation over the last year over the issue. NOTHING! NO SOLUTION! wanna know what their solution was?! maybe you guys should move out then! SCREW YOU ESSEX SKYLINE!!! on top of this we have had a non-​properly functioning dishwasher for 6 months that they could never get working properly. gave us a fix that just ruined our expensive dishes. thanks! after the 20^th time of them coming to try and fix the issue our dishwasher leaked everywhere and ruined our floor. our pipes in our shower and bathtub and kitchen have been making horrible screeching noises for months with no fix. we’ve just given up. we currently found a house to move into and will be leaving as soon as possible and we have absolutely NOTHING good to say about this place and it’s management. the management is a joke here. telling us that WE SHOULD MOVE to solve the problem is SOOOOO unacceptable i can’t even handle it. it actually states in the lease for the property this:
It is stated in everyone’s Lease Agreement that each Resident agrees not to harass, annoy, vex or endanger any other person within the Property, or to create any nuisance, disturb the peace and quiet of any other person, or commit waste in or about the Premises or Property.
i would consider second hand smoke very annoying and VERY ENDANGERING to our health!

This place is super nice to live. I been here for 3 years and I love it. Staff are nice and friendly. Maryam in leasing office is the most loving person that help me up so much to be able to move in to the luxury life style and she is always super nice and helpful.

Skyline is a high-​priced rip off. I lived there for two years and I regret ever moving in having paid over $ 120,000… to only be treated poorly.
First of all, the rent is too high for the quality of the service in the building. At first look, its gorgeous, however, the service is horrible, and the rent escalation is the only thing the management cares about. The apartment itself is nice, no doubt, but look out for the windows never being cleaned and the constant «partiers» that will keep you up at all hours especially on the weekends. Young, spoiled rich kids literally race their Lambo’s and Ferrari’s in the garage and adjacent streets, often waking you up in the middle of the night revving the engines.
The «visually» nice pool area is constantly not working properly, and is basically in a wind tunnel that is mostly in the shade year round due to being in-​between two high rises. From the hot tub to the pool itself, all are poorly maintained and they do not care to fix it especially over the holidays and weekends. This last 2014 Holidays, Skyline pulled «a trifecta» by not having the adult hot tub working on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years! Good job guys! Basically… the pool area sucks.
The gym is also a joke. The TV’s never work properly and the equipment is simply non-​functional most of the time especially the cardio where the TV’s attached don’t function 90% of the time. Try changing the channel on the TV’s in the tiny weights area. Never could do it in 2 years. Ditto for the Rec Room with the pool table.
The elevators are my biggest pet peeve as you have to use them daily. To pay $ 5k per month and endure going up and down in a moving elevator is crazy. They leave the moving carpet on the walls up virtually year round and when you have a guest and get dressed up, its uncanny how often you get into it and are embarrassed by the carpet which surrounds you like you are in a ghetto. After constant complaining from many of us, they opted to sew on a «Skyline» logo. Awesome. Why not just take it down when someone is not moving? No can do with these people.
Safety is also an issue. In addition to the race cars in the garage, you’ll find «partiers» at all hours of the night in the elevators. Its important to note than anyone can access your apartment front door and unwanted guests simply go up the elevator anytime ²⁴⁄₇. Unlike most expensive buildings, security does not check in guests and the elevators DO NOT require a key or FOB to go up. Anyone can go right up as no security is at the elevator, only the front door. Unfortunately, most people go through the Starbucks doors which are always open via other guests walking in and out. Beware of unwanted guests coming up and knocking on your door or using the pool facilities. Why don’t they install KEY SECURITYat the elevators like everywhere else? Nobody knows other than they are just cheap and they don’t want to hire staff to monitor the elevators.
Here’s another example of being «cheap»…
Last year, my front door WOULD NOT LOCK FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS!!! They tried to fix it 4 separate times with in-​house latinos, stating each time, «they fixed it». Unfortunately, every time I’d come home, it wouldn’t lock properly. My girlfriend freaked out and refused to stay the night without blocking the front door with something. It was unreal! Finally, they decided to have a real repair man fix from an outside company and it was fixed. Like always, they are always trying to save money on building expenses… and it shows from the pool, to the gym, to the things like my door.
I could go on and on on how the building sucks, but in a nutshell don’t be fooled by your first impression. Its an overpriced rip off that is being run by a cheap management company who will raise your rent hundreds of dollars or more if you have a nice unit.
My tipping point came when my lease was coming up and the leasing lady offered to terminate my lease early as she had a client who wanted to rent my corner apartment. I executed a lease agreement that clearly stated I had no early lease termination which is normally $ 8000! After moving out, I have just now received a bill for over $ 5000!!! for an early lease termination fee and expenses for «repairs» needed including for brand new carpet they just replaced 10 months ago!
UNBELIEVABLE! I have called and emailed and cannot get ahold of this manager to properly address my issues. I am now forced to take them to small claims court to recoup my deposit and fees. If you’re looking for a luxury apartment deal in the area, try the brand new place across the street, The Marke, where the roof top pool is actually in the sun all day, and the rents are almost half of over-​priced Skyline.
STAY AWAY FROM SKYLINE. Don’t be fooled by the first impression. Its a rip off.

I find it bizarre that people who haven’t lived here are reviewing Skyline. I’ve been here for over a year and a half and for the most part, it’s been great. Some pros and cons: (WARNING.LONG, INFO-​FILLED READ AHEAD)
PROS:
+It’s a nice place (obviously). Hardwood floors, Viking appliances, looks modern, all that jazz
+You can’t beat the views. The first night I was here, I sat on my balcony watching planes land at John Wayne, which was surreal.
+There are a few events per month, and Anne (events coordinator) is super friendly and cool.
+Tons of cardio machines at the gym if you’re into cardio
+The grills are always open
+Facilities is AWESOME. They’re prompt, polite, and respect your wishes if you say you’d rather be in your apartment while they fix something.
+I love being right next to the 55 and 405 freeways. Makes going places super easy.
+I haven’t seen a single bug, ant or spider in a year and a half
+Full-​length windows are awesome when you have a view, though I almost always have the blinds down
+‘m obviously not allowed in the women’s spa, but I suspect there are things like unicorns and leprechauns and free massages in there. This is pure speculation.
+My girlfriend likes that there are ducks in the fake lake thingy. Free brownie points I didn’t even earn!
+Any bedroom will fit a King bed, desk, and dresser. They’re big.
+There’s usually enough room for visitor parking. Nights and weekends, the structure nearby opens up.
+They FINALLY added security to help with the future resident parking area. People would park there for hours, block the gates, etc. Super annoying.
CONS:
–My upstairs neighbor is sawing something right now. All sorts of noises at all hours of the day. Management unfortunately doesn’t do much about things like that it seems, because this has gone on a while.
–If you’re a weightlifter, the weight section of the gym can be underwhelming. Dumbbells only go up to 52.5 pounds.
–I get why the pool table area closes at 11, but why can’t we use the fire pit past 10 or 11 if we’re not loud? I’ve been told to leave the fire pit while staring at my phone at 11pm. Meanwhile, there was a rager going on right above me. Weird.
–You feel like a pauper in your $ 60,000 car when you realize there are more Lamborghinis than Honda Civics in the parking structure.
–If your window is above one of the parking gates, they’re creaky as hell.
–People drive like idiots in the parking structure. You’re not impressing anyone flying around a parking area. Drive slowly.
–Rent, obviously. I’m in a 2 bed, 2 bath, and pay $ 3,350 a month. From what I’ve heard from other residents, this is a steal.
–Window cleaning frequency sucks, and they don’t clean your balcony glass.
–Management clearly doesn’t police visitor parking enough, despite the pro listed above. I’ve seen the same Audi R8 in visitor parking in the same spot for about a month now. Go away, Iron Man.
–The hallways feel like a weird hotel
Skyline is also a HUGE dog community. Tons of residents have dogs. I’m a dog lover, so it’s great. But if you’re not, something to consider, because you’ll constantly see dogs around the complex and in the elevators (and once every so often, dog pee in the elevator. Clean up after your mutts please)
As with every community, people are hit and miss. There are some great people I’ve met, and some inconsiderate idiots.
If you have the money and like the location, Skyline is definitely worth checking out. I’m moving out in September when my 2 years ends because I want something in a different location and something a bit cheaper since I always travel, but don’t let that dissuade you.

I really wanted to love this place, it looks amazing! However, my experience with the leasing team was beyond terrible, and if Unilocal would let me this would be a 0 star review since I wasted over 2 hours in drive time and not even being able to see the homes here (Yes, I had an appointment).

If this is how they treat me as a potential resident I can’t imagine how they treat their paying residents…
I found this apartment complex, and fell in love. I called the 866 # to verify that they would except my dog first (50lbs). I spoke with Anna there and she was beyond awesome, I even called back to let manager know how great Anna was (it’s rare to find such great customer service these days, and I used to work in sales and customer service — I know how tough that job is, and I also know what is great service and not so great to say the least). I scheduled an appointment to view the floor plans for 2pm since I am driving from Aliso Viejo (30−45mins due to traffic and distance), we hung up at 115pm and I grabbed my keys to head up there. As expected there was some traffic, however I arrived right at 2pm.
There were 0 future resident parking spaces available, so I waited behind 3 cars to enter the parking structure for guests… after about 3 minutes no one has moved and I decide to drive around to see if there is another entrance or a different place to park. I find a different entrance to the structure and the parking structure is definitely full, I was fortunate enough to find a spot after a few minutes and I park.
Now, I walk up to the sign that says leasing office and discover a locked door (thinking to myself, I hope this isn’t a bad area of town, it looks nice but I’m glad they have extra security!). There is a keypad where you can dial the leasing office to let you in — I called, no answer… ok so I call again (about ready to give up at this point) and a lady answers, she says she will buzz me right in, a minute passes and I still haven’t been let in, a different lady (maybe a potential resident as well) walks up and has a direct line/​phone to whoever she was meeting that she calls, her contact comes down and lets her in so I walk in with them.
I head to the main lobby, no one is at the desk and now I’m wondering if I am in the wrong place so I walk back towards where I came in and see a sign that says leasing office on the 3^rd floor, debate going there instead but remember that Anna told me to check in at the main lobby and so I go back to the main lobby again walk around a little and then the UPS guy came in and a guy who looks like he works there (dressed nice in a suit and tie) comes out of nowhere. The guy who appears to work there helps the UPS guy and then asks how he can help me (I sigh with relief it’s all going to work out and not be a waste of time after all), I introduce myself and let him know I have an appointment to tour some of the apartments. He looks me up on the computer and says Kathryn? Yes (like I already said), he says (in a passive aggressive tone) your appointment was at 2. I have no idea how long it took me to get in here at this point so I tell him the truth — I got a little lost on my way here and then it took some time for me to get in, I was stuck in your garage. He says it took you 18 minutes to park?! I just look at him (obviously a great listener) and he says I’ll call our leasing personnel, hold on. He calls the lady who I had my appointment with 18 minutes ago and tells her I am here, she apparently tells him she has another appointment at 215 (really you were planning on spending 15 mins with me to tour an entire luxury apartment complex, the layouts I am interested in and convince me to sign a lease with you?!), he politely asks if I mind waiting another hour. I of course tell him Yes I do mind, I just drove here from Aliso Viejo. He says hold on and explains this to the leasing person on the phone, asking her if she can help me and he will stall her next appointment. I’m not sure what she said but he hung up and told me she would be right down and to please have a seat. Ok perfect so I sit down and wait for about 3 – 5 minutes, excited to finally tour these apartments. She (the mysterious leasing agent) comes over and says «Kathryn?» I say yes and extend my hand to shake hers, she seemed a little surprised by this (I’m not sure why, it’s a common thing to do in any sales type of situation), she then proceeds to give me excuses — I have an appointment (as she smiles and points at her next appointment, obviously more excited to see her), she’s the only one there and the other coworkers apparently are all on lunch and then proceeds to ask if she can have my information so she can reschedule with me. I obviously was already frustrated at the situation and the last thing I wanted to do was COME BACK after all of that, none the less live there. IDK if she even introduced herself but her name was Sue. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

First off it’s overpriced to be treated poorly. We pay almost 5k and I have an electric car (I’m sure once the management reads this, they will also know who I am). But prior to moving in, they said no problem, that I am on the waiting list for a parking spot next to an outlet so I can charge and should be no more than 1 month wait. Months go by and nothing, they don’t have the extra spot anymore, so fine I have been parking in guest parking where there are a few outlets.
Then more recently, I started getting notifications on my car that I can’t park in guest anymore. I then get emails from «management» threatening that if I continue to park in guest, they will TOW my car! There isn’t even a specific person listed on the email I can speak to. So I call the office and tell them my situation. The management just isn’t very accommodating as they will promise whatever it is so you can rent with them, then later on, not help in anyway and rather make the situation worse. Like REALLY? Threaten to TOW my car? WOW. Where am I supposed to park then? Mind you, I don’t park in guest every day! It is probably only half the week or less.
There are several front desk/​security who are very nice as I do not have an issue with them, but management really needs to step it up. My lease finally ends in 2 months, and I still don’t have a parking spot near an outlet but I can’t wait to move out!!!

We lived at Essex Skyline for 3 years… we were some of the first residents in the South Tower. Viking Appliances, spectacular view and fantastic amenities.
However…Sadly… our family has out grown our condo and we moved out a few months ago. We have nothing but good things to say about Skyline… you won’t be disappointed. Special thanks to the Essex Skyline team, we had truly enjoyed living here for the past 3 years. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Essex Skyline is amazing!
Panoramic views. Top of the line amenities, including a full gourmet kitchen, women’s spa, fitness center, jacuzzi and outdoor pool.
Not only is it gorgeous, the staff treat the residents like royalty.
There are amazing events, such as cooking classes, fashion shows (my personal favorite), a car show and many other luxuries to living at Essex Skyline.

I was thoroughly impressed with this property after hosting a craft beer tasting event here. Their Wine Lounge was fully equipped with wine lockers! Their special events director, Anne, brings in top notch Chefs and restaurants to do their monthly Cooking Class and Wine Tasting events.
This place is the epitome of luxurious living with all the amenities of a resort. Rent starts at $ 2,700 for a one bedroom. I took a tour and found the units to be contemporary in style and have top of the line appliances like a built in Viking refrigerator. It was originally built as a condo project but when the economy tanked, it was bought up and converted into high end apartments. Ideal for the single professional or DINKs (double income no kids).

WARNING: LONG REVIEW AHEAD
My boyfriend and I were getting ready to make the move from Texas to California. Originally we were set on living in a house but things weren’t really going as planned. Getting on a plane later that day to head back to Texas with no living arrangements we panicked and decided to cave and check out apartments/​condos.
Sheena, one of the leasing specialists, greeted us at Essex Skyline and she is just that, a specialist. While clearly being fully educated on every aspect of the buildings/​amenities, Sheena answered every single one our questions with full knowledge and confidence. She was actually getting us really excited about the possibility to call this place our home! Then just like that two weeks later, it was our home.
I wish I could say it was an easy breezy move from there but that would be a drastic understatement. Traveling with two dogs, three cars and a U-​Haul across the country, you can only imagine all the things that can go wrong and to us it felt like everything did. I won’t go into the details about getting here because I’m already writing a book as it is but trust me when I say, we never want to go through anything like that again!
We missed our move in time for the freight elevator, by eight hours. By that time we were extremely stressed from our trip and not even sure we would be able to move in until the next day (which doesn’t seem too terribly awful, if only the person who was helping us move in didn’t have an early flight out!). Our adventure was already past falling apart; we were a mess in distress! The second we arrived at Skyline Sheena was there with our keys and the final paperwork that needed to be signed. She came up to Essex FIVE HOURS after she got off work just so we would have a place to sleep. Although we were exhausted and stressed things finally started to fall back into place.

Originally looking for a short lease so we could still search for our perfect house we ended up signing a twelve-​month lease. Our plan was to just pay two months rent to cancel our lease whenever that perfect home appeared. Now after being here almost a month we think the idea of living twelve months at what feels like a resort, might not be so bad!
You won’t find amenities like these for the price anywhere else. I can’t tell you how amazing it is to be able to get a workout in then relax in the dry spa and/​or the steam room. Not to mention swimming in the Jr. Olympic size pool/​Jacuzzi and grilling on one of their many top of the line grills. Then heading up watch your favorite show and see the sunset through floor-​to-​ceiling windows just adds the cherry on top. As an added little bonus they have an amazing kitchen that has a Flavia machine! My boyfriend and I make free lattes/​tea/​coffee etc. everyday!
Everyone is very friendly and the staff is amazing! To be honest I haven’t learned all their names yet but they sure know our names AND room number! The three names I do remember are Caesar, Jeffrey and Donald, they’re great! Jeffrey is very kind and helpful and it doesn’t get any better than Caesar! He is the best at what he does and always knows what’s going on in the building. Donald is also very kind and helpful, every time we run into him we can’t help but strike up a conversation! I couldn’t feel any safer living here with their top security/​locked entrances. ALSO the gated underground garages are super safe and secure! Unlike most garages, there is no code to punch in. You must have a clicker to enter so I feel safe in knowing that not just anybody can punch in some numbers and get in. It’s also nice that I can just take an elevator down to my car, super easy!
To be honest I was slightly worried about our dogs (one french bulldog and one yellow lab) not having much room to go potty/​play. At first I thought it was mostly landscaping and not enough grass but I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong! There is plenty of grass and walking places PLUS they have a nice

Any negative review must be dated and about old staff because being the current (and hopefully permanent) staff is top of the line! Sheena for the win!!!
