Pinnacle at MacArthur Place

I used to live here from June 2014-​June 2015, and now I’m back again!
One of the TOP reasons why I like Pinnacle at MacArthur over the other luxury apartment complexes in the area is that the residents here are quiet and classy. I’ve visited places like Ave 3400 where the trashy ratchet residents are enough to turn you away, regardless of how nice the complex is.
The amenities here are really awesome. The pool is never too crowded; the hot tub does get crowded occasionally. The gym is accessible ²⁴⁄₇ and a really nice facility. I tend to go off hours so I never experience any issues with the gym being too crowded. Pinnacle was built in 2007, and all the units have been remodeled. I realized they did a really good job of only having hardwood apartments on the 2^nd floor (bottom unit floor) or in apartments that don’t have units directly below, so residents won’t have to worry about hearing their upstairs neighbors walking around. All units have washer/​dryer.
Overall I’ve found this complex to be the best one (close to Irvine) that isn’t ridiculously overpriced primarily because of the peaceful atmosphere and non-​ratchet residents and of course the awesome amenities. Pricing is comparable to all luxury apartment complexes in Orange County, meaning it’s not cheap but it’s reasonable.

Pinnacle is a gorgeous complex. The updated units are clean, modern, and comfortable. Kristen was extremely helpful and informative.

If I can give this property infinite stars, I would. First off, The community overall is wonderful. It is very clean, well maintained, and just give you that home vibe. Second, The staff is perfect, from the leasing office all the way to maintenance. Third, Location! It is literally close to everything. South coast plaza is down the street, there are many grocery stores and fast food places nearby, and newport beach is not too far off as well. From the first day to the last I can honestly say I have no complaints at all and If I could have stayed I would. So if you’re looking to find a place called home in a great location then you should defintely come here!

Pinnacle at MacArthur Place is a great place to live. As a designer i found the units to be upgraded well beyond the standards of most and easy to decorate to call home. You will always feel safe and secure while living in this property. The staff always goes above and beyond to ensure all your needs are met with the highest standards. Any type of maintenance request is promptly handled if not the same day. I have gone through 3 lease renewals with the property. Liz the community manger will make you feel at home at all costs and will bend over backwards to meet your expectations. Liz is constantly upgrading the community, whether it is new flowers and landscaping or re-​laying out the pool area to maximize our comfort. The community is VERY quite, almost feels as if you live there alone. You will also enjoy the weekly and monthly events Liz and her team organize. If you are looking for clean, quiet, centrally located place to call home i would look no further and sign a lease with Liz and her team today you will not regret it.

Absolutely love pinnacle MacArthur! Such a quiet little complex, I love how classy they keep this place. I rarely see anyone walking in the hallways but when I do they’re so nice & always say hello. My kitchen is up to date and looks very modern, all my appliances are also whirlpool so I was quite pleased with that as well. I live in a Rodin urban style apartment. I also love the underground assigned parking it’s very convenient and there are many cameras all over the structure which makes me feel more safe. Such a plus that there are never any screaming children running around lol. The workers here are extremely inviting & their gym is open 24 hours and their equipment is up to date. So glad I moved over here! Couldn’t be happier.

We’ve been here since January of 2013 and we love it. The whole place is kept very clean and quite. Our neighbors are very courteous. It is a pet friendly place although we don’t have any. The only problem I have is that it only has 2 BBQ grills for the entire complex. I feel very safe living here with all the security cameras and security fob required to enter the gates and elevators. Oh and it is a guarded gate ²⁴⁄₇.
Our floor plan is the best «Picasso» 1300 sq-​ft. with 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths and a storage just outside our door. We entered it fully renovated! Also the gym (about 2000 sq-​ft.) is also fully renovated. The location of our unit is just perfect away from the busy streets of South Coast Metro.
It is also conveniently located off the 55 FWY just one exit from the 405 FWY as well. We get to work and school in less than 15 minutes daily.

It’s been a year and we decided to renew our lease here!
Though there have been a few staffing changes (leasing office/​security), I’m still impressed by the professional responses I get when I have any questions or concerns. We have both really enjoyed our stay here, enough so to do it again.
My only concern is the pet waste in the main grass area — there has been SO much left over dog waste that it’s become quite an eye-​sore at times. It really is a pet owner’s responsibility to clean that up – but seeing it often isn’t pleasant. Also, there are dogs IN the pool and jacuzzi area too often. That’s a big thumbs down! I love my pooches too, but not everyone wants to share their space with my dogs.
I’ve had a wonderful experience here, all of my neighbors (old and new) have been great! i can hardly hear a thing from their apartments. I think for the price, it’s definitely worth looking into.

We have been at Pinnacle for almost 3 years. There were minor issues (ants) but everything was resolved VERY quickly. I’ve recommended several people to live here. And the accommodations are good to say the least.
However when our vehicle was broken into INSIDE the resident parking garage we received no response. We filed a police report and informed the office in person and in written record.
What is the point of three levels of security if no one responds when something happens?
We feel as though our stay here is tainted and would have left a glowing review if this situation were at least addressed (acknowledged) by the apartment managers.
Up until this incident I would have given 5 stars, but I realize now that it just so happens we didn’t have any real issues before…

I highly recommend these apartments for the South coast Metro area in a nice quiet area. It’s close to the 5/​55/​73/​and 405 fwy. South coast plaza is 5 mins away. The apts are well maintained, are only 10 yrs old, and have central a/​c. They have good insulation and you never hear your neighbors. There is plenty of parking, both assigned underground and open spots in an attached parking structure. The office has full time staff and is open 7 days a week. Most of them are friendly and helpful. One of the benefits of having an on site office.
There’s a pretty nice gym and large pool/​spa on site. I also like they have on site storage for an additional fee with 24 hr access. There’s also a business center and clubhouse with some free resident events such as an occasional cooking class, weekly yoga, etc. I would have given them 5 stars if the front gates were in working order and the office staff provided a notch higher customer service. They often have only 1 staff working so if they go tour you have to wait around. Also, the elevators do break down on occasion but luckily there are several on site so you can use a different one. Overall, a good place to live with quiet working people living here.

I have to admit these are the worst apartments I have ever lived in. The staff is unhelpful and rude. Security comes up if you even walk to hard. Insane, this is apartment living. For the price we pay you are walking on eggshells in your own home. The exercise room has tv’s that dont work on the wall or on the machines. The elevators are always broken. I’ve had to carry my groceries up the stairs multiple times due the elevators being broken. The hot water has gone out more then once. Do not live here! Horrible le experience… horrible!!!

This place is awful .It was the worst place ever i lived.
They have rate and mouse problem here, the rate and mouse came to my room from outside when my balcony door was open.
they have a storage in balcony .I put a lot of my stuff in and didn’t know about mouses here .Oh my god!!! They made a big mess there .I had to throw a lot of my stuff .The manager there, I am sorry, she is a bitch.
The inside is good only for one month after that you have to keep calling them to come to fix .
I moved to third floor from first, i still saw mouse and rates there and again one day I saw one is running out really fast .
I am very clean and very organiz person .I couldn’t live there anymore. They don’t tell you until you move in you find out yourself because one of my neighbor left she said they rate problem I believe her until I saw my storage .The maintenance guy saw it too .He said that is awful. There are a lot of apartments these area were a lot nicer than this shity place, but I didn’t know .
Look around before you move here.
Top of everything they bug problem too .
A lot of my clothes got a hole in my closet .They are just the worst in this areas .The only thing they better location but they don’t pay attention to any thing else .
Good luck, i just tell you guys my own experience and I heard from other people here i talked about .They said they have too.

I previously left a poor review because I was dealing with a scary bug issue at my place. It was very disconcerting and I was extremely upset. Once I was able to exemplify how serious the issue was to management, they fixed the problem. After the bug problem was fixed, I have had a good experience. The place is nice and the security makes me feel safe. The apartment complex is in a nice area, but go 5 blocks down, and you’re in the straight hoods. I like that they are dog friendly and have lemon trees. I have tried picking the lemons a couple times, but since there are lemons, there must be bugs. There was a giant black widow staring at me on one of the lemons so I bailed, but they are fresh and make the area smell nice.
TIPS:
— Try to avoid the elevator cause it’s super slow. I always just take the stairs.
— If you have any problems with your apartment (things such as bugs) go straight to management and have them fix the issue. If you submit a work order, they typically will come and spray and give you a temporary solution. After speaking with management, they had a guy come and plug up all the holes that the little termite things were coming through from. I haven’t seen one since. Thank god.
— Clean up your dog poo. Yeah. Cause it’s nasty.
OVERALL:
I have upgraded my grade to an A. The price is reasonable, especially for orange county and the place is quite nice. This has been one of my favorite places to live now that I have fixed the issues I had before. I really enjoy it. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced apartment in a nice area. I would suggest getting the remodeled rooms, they are very very nice.

While I never had issues with bugs or anything while I was living there and my one year lease was pretty easy I will say when you move out document everything!
I recently moved out, had a pre move out inspection where I was told I would be charged 50 for carpet cleaning, 75 for touching up the paint and 100 if the apartment was not clean to move on condition when the keys were turned in. I finally got a break down of what I was being charged at move out and it of course was different. I was charged $ 85 for carpet cleaning. (Not an issue the carpets needed to be cleaned) and the $ 100 for cleaning the apartment except I had already done that and it was cleaner than when I moved in. I called and spoke to Nadine and mike and was promised a call back didn’t get one and had to follow up on my own. Of course when I called they said they are refunding me the 100 for cleaning, but never sent me the photos I requested (I took my own as well, but wanted to see where they justified this charge). All in all move out left a bad taste in my mouth. They will try to charge you for everything even though there is no justification. Rent here is fairly expensive considering and there is no incentive to renew your lease as you will pay more per month and when you don’t resign your lease they will list your apt on the website for the same rent you are currently paying.
Used to recommend this apartment as I did enjoy my year there, but after this I would have to say stay away, look at other places!

Great apartment lay-​out, fair «south-​coast metro» price point. While the amenities the amenities are also nice i was really put-​off by the management staff. At the price i was paying I was hoping to feel more comfortable living there, unfortunately the management staff was sometime brash and unwelcoming.

So I just moved into this complex about a week ago and so far everything has been great! I have to agree that most people who decided to post on here do it when they have bad experiences. I’ve seen some reviews about «thin walls» and I have to say that isn’t true. My wife and I sometimes have to wonder if we even have neighbors (we do). I gotta love how convenient this location is. We have the freeway (big plus), shopping, restaurants, gas, etc. so close by. I love how the parking is a structure… yes, people complain about the elevator being slow some times, but it’s not horrible.
Our place is updated, which comes equipped with all stainless steel appliances and laminate wood floor. I haven’t been to a complex with such huge floor plans. The space is definitely great. Another HUGE plus for us is having the washer and dryer in the unit.
The leasing staff has been very helpful from the beginning. Whenever I have any questions, I send them an email and get responses almost immediately. Keep up the great work Courtney, Nadine, and Kristen.

Management is the worst! Rude and unpleasant once your a resident! Wouldn’t recommend living here. Dog poop is everywhere through out the property, parking system & security is horrible. Elevators are slow (when not broken, which happens regularly.) this is super inconvenient especially because there is NO STAIR CASE ACCESS PARKING GARAGE! walls are super thin! I can hear my neighbors beside and above me walking around and moving chairs, shutting doors, running water, dogs barking. Trash rooms are always full and give off foul Odor through out hallway. Pool & jacuzzi are full with leafs.

If I could rate this place I would rate it a zero! Highly overpriced and unprofessional staff! Very unorganized and honestly the area isn’t that great, it is Santa Ana. $ 2000 for a one bedroom in Santa ana seems quiet ridiculous when you can live in a safer area for less than that. DO NOT waste your time, the apartment walls are paper thin and there is no parking! Forget having visitors or quiet time here.

Pros:
Friendly staff. Friendly maintenance staff. Apartments have been renovated to include modern appliances and hard wood floorings.
Cons:
Don’t let the façade fool you. This building was built 20+ years ago and the quality of the structure as a whole is mediocre at best. The walls are PAPER THIN and you likely will hear a lot of noise. If you live on any of the bottom floors, you will hear absolutely EVERYTHING your neighbor is up to (brushing teeth, cooking dinner, hanky panky in the bed, dogs running around, slamming of doors, windows and cabinetry… etc, etc, etc.). This makes it literally impossible to enjoy a peaceful night with your family.
Elevators are really slow. Unfortunately, the only apparent way to get your unit from the parking structure is the elevator. One night the elevator was broken, so we had to walk to another elevator into another parking structure just to get to our car. We don’t mind the extra exercise, but leave that for the gym, not your home.
Poor lighting and ventilation. Unless your unit faces west, it will be hard to get natural sunlight.
Overall, this place is not worth the money charged, unless you want to take a risk getting a decent unit.

Apartment building is kept clean. Nice gym & pool. Staff are courteous and prompt when called for maintenance. Ground is secure and they have guards on duty ²⁴⁄₇. Rent is not cheap but reasonable. Layout is spacious. You have full size washer & dryer in your unit. You also get extra storage (huge) right by your unit (right outside your front door). Designated parking in under ground parking lot. People complained about guest parking but there are more than enough by the leasing/​retail parking garage. Luckily, I don’t have noisy/​crazy neighbors above or next to. Living over here was pleasant so far for last 9 months. The cons — elevator is slow! Mail box is far away! Water pressure (shower) is weak!
Maybe I was lucky enough to not run into some of the problems others were experiencing but 2 ½ stars?!
I don’t know but this place deserves more than 2 ½ for sure!

I did a lot of research before I decided to rent here. I checked out Ave of the Arts (terribly rude, overpriced, and outdated), enclave (terribly overpriced, no w/​d in studios), and finally Pinnacle. I read the reviews and decided that I could deal with a rude staff as long as my actual apartment was clean and no problems. I just moved in on Oct. 1^st. The past 5 days I have been here, this is what I’ve experienced:
Beyond nice and accommodating office staff. Maintenance has been called and fixed minor problems (door off hinge, mailbox key not working) in a matter of 30 minutes, I was given not only one, but two free accent walls, along with the first day of rent given back because I got my keys late, super quick e-​mail reply’s to any question I have, 4 neighbors have already introduced themselves to me and told me where they live in case they need anything, amazing pool, gym, clubhouse, and most importantly, love love LOVE the jr 1 bedroom apartment I have!!! I have to say, I’m SHOCKED about the comments of the rude staff. I’ve only experienced genuine niceness, care, and going out of their way to accommodate me. I can’t even say which names of people are great, because they are ALL great!!!
I ALWAYS READ THESE CRAZY GOOD RATINGS AND THINK SOMEONE FROM THE «INSIDE» MADE THEM, SO PLEASE RESPOND AND I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO PROVE TO YOU THAT I AM IN FACT A RESIDENT AND KNOW NO ONE HERE! LOL
