History

Established in 2014.

From 1981 to 2008 this location was home to Sanford’s famous «Rib Ranch». We have brought back many of the old recipes and famous flavors infused for today’s tastes. The original pit master, Leroy, is back at Vayda’s Gypsy Rib Ranch. Many come near and far to enjoy what Leroy is pulling of the real oak smoked pit!

Half a pound of BBQ Meat on a Sandwich with a Side of Cole Slaw. I was skeptical at first judging by the lack of patrons but my skepticism turned into enlightenment as to what I would say was one of the best damn bbq sandwiches I’ve ever had. Next time, I’ll go in and sit down for a meal!

Loved the atmosphere and coziness of this place. We enjoyed our dinner here, the waitress made us feel welcome and the beer is cold. We had a sampler platter that they put together for us of the only kind of ribs they had that night, a brisket and a bit of pot roast. We also had a baked potato, yum, and mashed potatoes (me). Flavor of the mashed potatoes was great, but I don’t like chunks, so not a fan, but that’s just a personal preference. Oh, and real butter for the baked potatoes would be nice. Kind of a requirement. We also had corn bread which I want to try again because it was a tad sour, not sure if that’s a one time thing. Liked the Garlic bread, which they grill, a lot. The meat was a quite fatty and salty on the pot roast but all-in-all we will be returning and then I’ll bring my own butter and get the baked potato :)

Went in for lunch today, first impression: Wow, this place is clean. Used Living social coupon (30 for the price of 17).
I ordered ribs, with baked beans and mac and cheese, and it came with a piece of corn bread. I’m not a fan of fried green tomatoes, but that was the appetizer that my friend ordered.
The ribs and beans were spot on ! The mac and cheese was watery and the corn bread had a faint taste of soap to it, my friends did not ???
The owner and staff were both very courteous.
Even if i dont have the living social special in the future, i will definitely return.

Very good barbecued ribs, and that’s not something that is easy to find in central FL. I took my own bbq sauce with me because I prefer a vinegar-based sauce to what is usually offered around this part of the country; but it turned out that one of their house bbq sauces was — in my opinion — quite good. Service was a little slow and portions were not terribly generous (a half slab is only 4 ribs; a quarter slab is 2 ribs) but the food is very good.

Nothing special about the BBQ here. I ended up just eating appetizers and letting my husband take my pulled pork sandwich for leftovers because it wasn’t very good. Maybe worth the Groupon, but certainly not worth another drive to Sanford for mediocre BBQ.

This is true wood-smoked BBQ! Ribs and Brisket great. Sides good and desserts killer. I need to try more menu items but this will be a regular place. Easy and fast take out too. Hope they do well. Big improvement on 17 – 92 corridor in Sanford.

My wife and I came for lunch based on all the great reviews. When I got there the smell was great but overall I was let down. We tried the Peanut butter and Jelly Ribs and I really liked them. These were were whole wings smoked and several interesting sauces.
I had the rib special, It had a small amount ribs, but they had more sauce than I like. The sauce killed the smoke of the ribs. The sides Mac and cheese, not good, slaw was good and a decent corn bread.
Wife had half a chicken, very dry, same sauce. She like the beans as a side.
The service was not very good and our server didn’t know the menu or specials.

Ribs were very good… Sides were large portions which was nice for a change. Had bread pudding for dessert and it was delicious !!! Recommend if you love barbq!

My girlfriend and I have this place a shot on Sat night and we were not disappointed! She got the Cuban-o sandwich and loved it. Great portions. Very little fat on the meat and great flavor.
I ordered a half rack of ribs w/mac&cheese (just ok, not cheesy enough and the noodles didn’t have much flavor) and fries (good). The ribs were great! A lot of flavor and it was very moist. I will be giving this place more of my business!

Fantastic! A couple of colleagues and myself stopped for lunch, one of the guys was pretty hesitant to go but we talked him into trying something new. We all loved it, and for the price you can’t beat it. I got the lunch special of 2 ribs and 2 wings for $ 6.99 with the Habenaro Mango sauce on the wings. Sauce was not to spicy with a nice sweetness to it… Next time I go, I am going to try the Watermelon Gastrique sauce!
