A whole lot of chicken I don’t eat fried chicken very often, maybe KFC a couple of times a year so I’m hardly knowledgeable on the subject. However I did notice that this part of Florida seems to have an abundance of different fried chicken franchises so I decide to give something different a try. Church’s is small with a few tables inside and I suspect that the vast majority of their business is take out. Beside a lot of chicken they have some of the expect sides like corn, potatoes, okra and rice. No surprises in here. I got a whole heap of chicken to share with my friends and some okra and rice. I loved the okra and Cajun rice and ended up devouring most of that while my friends took care of the chicken. The chicken I did try was pretty good, not nearly as greasy as KFC with a very nice and crispy taste to it. Quite a different style of friend chicken from what I was use to. Even though the place was quite crowded with people constant coming in and out picking up and ordering stuff, everything moved surprising fast. It looked pretty chaotic but the folks working here seemed to really know what they are doing and manage to be fast, efficient and still be pleasant about it. The bathrooms were a mess but I suspect that the staff concentrate on moving chicken to the take out customers more than the bathrooms. This is a nice change from KFC when you start lusting for some friend chicken. You get a lot of food for not much money and the chicken and side dishes are pretty good. It may look like a madhouse at times but the staff here really have the art of making and passing out chicken down to a science.
