Just out the door and in the parking lot aftervmy purchase. I love a lot of what they have, but the cashiers who are teen age brats? Obnoxious. More intrtested in talking to each othrr than in doing thier jobs. The kid who checked me out had nearly plowed me over with a shopping cart onb entry. Totally rude and dismissive. Asked about an item and if they had any more, since it was chipped. Rather than check he just told me to use ab Sharpie to fix it. I’m calling the manager once I’m done here.

My taste is modern and I hate clutter so this place is really not for me.
I do like their holiday décor quite a bit but it is overpriced.

This is my first time at this store and let me tell you… I’m in loooove They have all kinds of house decoration, outside decoration, and so much more. You gotta come check it out. Now if you are into kitchenware ohhhh this will be like a peace of heaven for you. They have a great collection, and really decent prices. Mmmmmhmmm check it out!

I always find things I want here, but can’t always afford the price. My suggestion, look in the back at the clearance section, it is usually filled with left overs when they restock items, so you can get full matching sets of dishes, decorations and other items at a fraction of the cost.
We did grab some sandwiches at the little deli inside the store. They were stuffed with meat and a great lunch in the middle of the trek around this huge store.

I am a huge Tai-​Pan fan! Especially the boutique section they have now, they’ve got bags and some clothing and I seriously love everything! Now I get my home décor and handbags at the same store haha. Love it!

Halacious return policy along with horrible employees to match. My experience at Tai Pan was probably my worst retail experience ever. If you enjoy being treated like a liar, a bad person and a criminal in the way that the employees made me feel, then this is the place for you!
A little background of my story, I am an interior designer for a small commercial firm. We found out that there was a coupon for 25% off at Tai Pan and thought maybe we could find some accessories and greenery for a big project we were just wrapping up. Because of the coupon, I was cautious and specifically made a call into customer service asking if I could return product purchased with the coupon. She said yes, and didn’t mention anything about the 14 day return policy. I went into the store and purchased tons of fake plants and greenery filler to be used in big vases. I figured we could see what fit in the space, and any extras we can return. The purchase was over $ 400 dollars after the coupon so you can imagine how much stuff was filled in my cart. I could really hardly see where I was going while pushing it around the store… When I arrived to the cash register to check out, I pushed my huge cart up to the counter and they rang me up. Not once did the clerk inform me of the return policy. And my huge cart of plants was blocking the posted sign disclosing the return policy. Because there were multiples of the plants and everything was strategically jammed in to my cart, the clerk would just take one plant out at a time and scan the item because everything was definitely not going to fit on the counter. I left the store not once hearing or seeing anything about having 14 days to return to the product. Well the big projects we were working on had a due date of the next week, however due to construction it was pushed back a week and a half. It was over 14 days before we even could stage and set up the plants. Long story short, it was the extras we didn’t use that we then went to return at Tai Pan. It was THEN that I looked at the bottom of the receipt and saw the return policy. And it was THEN when it was already passed the «14 days»… I didn’t even think to look at my receipt prior to going to return the items. Why would I need to? I feel like any other respectable establishment gives you at least 30 days…
After going in the first time and explaining my situation, I was referred to the manager. After leaving my info, I received a phone call later giving me permission from the manager (s) Justin and Alan to do a in-​store credit for merchandise that was purchased.
Then when I went in to return the items 2 days later I explained Justin had given me permission, she basically called me a liar and said she talked to him and said he had given instructions to NOT give back the credit. Of course this «manager» was now out of town and they refused to call him, luckily manager Alan was in the store and came to the front and confirmed that yes, he had told Justin to tell me that they would make an exception to do the in store credit for me. Then the whole time the clerk gave me smart, smirky remarks and was shaking her head; like «wow, if they say so…» «I can’t believe this.» «I’m only doing this because they said so»… I didn’t catch the lady’s name but she was old and has short hair and grown out pink nails. Maybe I caught her on a bad day, but I would seriously reconsider having her face representing «customer service» or the lack there of. Just the whole experience dealing with her makes me never want to give any of my business to Tai Pan again. Being treated like I was inconveniencing her and that I was lying left a sour taste in my mouth. I’ll be sure this review gets shared with other designers in the area and my friends and family so hopefully they can be spared of the horrible employees and customer service!

Customer Service is huge and you will not find good customer service at Tai Pan. I purchased a clock there a month ago and a few days ago I put a battery in it and hung it on the wall. The clock doesn’t work. I went back to the Sandy Store and quickly found out you can’t return anything without talking to the store manager and getting his approval. I didn’t have my receipt or the clock but was only asking if I could return it without my receipt because it doesn’t work. The manager was not friendly and said he might give me a store credit but that is all. They don’t have the same clock at this location anymore. I guess it would have been nice to have him offer to call the other stores to see if they had this clock or offered to repair it. But I got a very cold response of well I don’t know how much you paid for it so I won’t give your money back. I like the clock I just want it to work. I purchased a defective item and he wasn’t willing to make it right with me. Well off to Hobby Lobby and Gardner’s Village for me from now on.

Nice stuff but very pricey… store name says «wholesale» and there’s nothing wholesale about it.
Seems like false advertising to me…

If this is your style, you’re going to be in heaven. Tai Pan has its own flavor and some people really dig it. For me, it’s just not my aesthetic.
It’s hard to adequately describe the style, but if I had to sum it up I think it would be «fake plants.» So many fake plants. Fake flowers. Flower pots. Baskets. Wicker. Arrangements. I don’t recall seeing a silk flower arch or spray, but that’s the neighborhood we’re in.
I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that look per se, it just feels like they had their day several years ago. A well-​placed faux topiary can do wonders to a room, but a room full of topiaries makes you wonder what went wrong.
There are still some nice finds here. I enjoy cruising wall art no matter where I am and can usually find something I like. Plus there are a billion knickknacks and some of charming, curious, clever, and could fit into a well-​appointed room.
So while it’s not really my style, I can appreciate a trip to Tai Pan and a good hunt for stuff that’s a little more my speed. But I don’t get that inspirational feeling to redecorate like I do at other shops around town.

This place is amaaaazing… probably a really good thing I don’t live nearby! Like another reviewer stated… they have everything from silk flowers, to plastic artichokes, to paintings and furniture, to frames and clothes, to awesome cheap kitchenware… to yards of licorice and Make Your Own Fortune Cookie kits.
Need a softball sized plastic artichoke? Or a giant four foot lion for your garden? No? Just want to grab some quality, cheap, and cute kitchenware then laugh at all the garish kitschy garden and home décor? This is the place for you. Go there… score some awesome deals… you won’t regret it.
Now if only I had a huge tacky mansion to go with my new four foot lion…

LOVE IT! You could fully decorate your whole house from items in this huge costco sized store. They have all kinds of items from hardware to dishes and fake flowers to armoires. This is the first place that I look when I am decorating for both year round looks and holiday pieces.

Tai Pan Trading is NOT my kind of store. Fake plants, huge clocks, and tacky knick-​knacks just aren’t my thing…
