Perk-N-Pooch

Other than Pet’s mart and small town groomer back at my parents,’ I haven’t tried anywhere else. I wasn’t a big fan of these places because they weren’t consistent and didn’t know how to manage Coco. They would take the short cut and just make Coco ugly by shaving everything off; not to mention her nails were poorly cut.
I admit Coco is hard to handle. She just goes NUTZ when you try to brush her or cut her nails. On our first visit here, the groomer was very attentive asking what we wanted, taking the time to get to know Coco, and was able to tame her. This is why I knew Coco was in good hands.
Typical grooming takes 3hours and the groomer really takes your request to heart. Everytime, Coco comes out beautiful, soft, clean, and at ease. In love with this place and glad that I finally found some place that I trust. For a little bit more $ than what I used to pay at pet’s mart, both Coco and I can’t be any happier here.
Oh and their reservation system is totally easy by booking online!

Got recommended by a coworker and I was not disappointed. Love the quality of service and the job they did on my baby. Penelope enjoyed a puppy ice cream as a treat after her grooming that she also really enjoyed. Overall awesome experience and we will be returning frequently.

Great place for a coffee and a dog wash. Coffee comes in small, medium, large. Not tall, grande … Blah blah blah. Also d’lites ice cream and a variety of teas. Dog or not, definitely a great place. People here are extremely friendly and fun.

The whole experience was great. From making an appointment to getting tips on training. And our dogs came out looking and smelling better than ever before. I will definitely be a return customer.

Brandy grooms my Giant Schnauzer and she does it perfectly each time. All of the staff takes good care of my dog while she is there and I recommend this groomer to everyone. This is an an excellent, fair price, groomer.

Unfortunately, I have bad news about Perk-​N-​Pooch. After my last review, the owner contacted me and offered to schedule another grooming for Sargent Pepper. I replied, but never heard back from the owner or anyone at Perk-​N-​Pooch.
However, since the staff was so friendly, my girlfriend and I decided to give Perk-​N-​Pooch another chance, even though the owner did not reply to my email. We took Sargent Pepper in for another round of grooming. My girlfriend spoke to the manager, voiced her concerns, and was assured that this time, everything would be fine.
We picked up our dog later in the day. He was indeed more trimmed down this time. However, we were charged $ 80 instead of the $ 55 we paid on our first visit. The reason? The staff trimmed his face. That’s right, we were charged $ 25 extra dollars to have a clean face. The manager didn’t tell my girlfriend when the dog was dropped off even though she specifically asked about how to get a shorter trim.
To make matters worse, the staff irritated the skin on our dog’s feet with their trimmers. His paws were red and causing him pain after the grooming. My girlfriend will post pictures in her review, since she knows the intricacies of grooming better than me.
I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but they have failed on all levels. The manager didn’t reply to an email that HE REQUESTED. The staff does one poor cut. We give them another chance. They perform a quality cut, but charge an extra fee and never tell us about it. Finally, our dog is in pain for two days because of irritated feet.
Please, find a better place to spend your hard-​earned money.

I called Perk-​n-​pooch to see if I needed an appointment to bring my Sophie in to get her nails clipped and to see exactly how much it would be. They said I didn’t need an appointment and I could bring her in any time which is what I thought but I wanted to make sure before I took her. They also said that it would be $ 8. I know that Sophie hates getting her nails clipped and I don’t want the responsibility of clipping them myself in case I hurt her so I would much rather pay someone to do them for me and $ 8 is a good price.
So, a couple of hours later I took her in. I chose Perk-​n-​pooch because 1) $ 8 is the cheapest I had found in the area and 2) it had a coffee shop attached. I think that concept is adorable!
The lady at the counter was very friendly, asked me if I wanted to have her nails filed as well for $ 12 total and I said yes. Once we established that she immediately took Sophie back. Since the entire area is very open except for a gate so the dogs can’t escape I could see her clipping Sophie’s nails. I liked being able to watch her since I am so protective of my dog. It only took a couple of minutes and Sophie was back out with me. I didn’t end up getting anything to drink from the coffee shop area which has its own space and is enclosed so that it is part of the grooming salon but not to where it is unsanitary. Also, I chose to not get anything because I think the lady that does the salon part also does the coffee shop part so there was no one around to make me anything if I wanted it while Sophie was getting her nails done. Oh, well, maybe next time! I would definitely come back now that I can trust them with her nails.

I can not say enough great things about the people here! I brought my small, 12 week old, 4lb puppy in for a bath and puppy trim and Wow was I blown away. They were so loving to my puppy and never seemed bothered by my fearful puppy owner questions. They were quick (took 1 hour –he is only 4 lbs right now) which helped ease my fears of him staying hours and hours at a groomer.
As I watched the other groomers they were petting the dogs and treating them so kindly — this is not what you see at other groomers through the window. Here it seemed they were more concerned with the dogs being comfortable than the speed of the cut.
I arrived to get my dog and he was wagging his tail at the people behind the counter and none of the other dogs were barking. Everyone was peaceful and happy!
My puppy looks great, was happy and will be a long time customer! I’m telling everyone about this place.

My daughter has worked here for more than a year and loves the job as well as the people with whom she works and the customers who come in – four– or two-​footed. Your pet will receive great attention and care here.

Perk-​N-​Pooch is tucked away in the same shopping center as Canton Cooks II and LA Fitness. The idea that you can go in to get your pet groomed while getting a drink or ice cream seems cool. I should preface that I accompanied friends with a dog. Even though we didn’t get the dog groomed, we were looking for a nearby place for coffee or ice cream after enjoying the Abernathy Greenway. So this review is mostly about the café where we got cold treats.
Not too busy on a Sunday afternoon, I appreciate how the café has a cornered off section since it’s probably bad to mix both food and pet grooming. The selection seems impressive at first with their coffees, smoothies, root beer floats and «hand crafted sodas» which is really just a SodaStream machine (we later found out), but there’s really not much here. I was kind of disappointed by this place.
Customer service was kind of 2-​star. The lady behind the counter greeted us, but it really seemed like she was too busy to help us with our questions. Here’s what I know now:
— Ice cream is really just soft serve. Chocolate, vanilla, or a combo.
— «Handcrafted sodas» are really just made from a SodaStream machine but you do see a list of flavor shots, so basically, the same flavorings one would put in coffee is what they put in their soda.
— Root beer or creamsicle floats use the soft serve ice cream, which in my book is a big no because it’s not creamy. Oh, and I thought the soda would be from their SodaStream. It’s not. It’s just Orange Fanta if you get a creamsicle float.
— Smoothies are made with a Margaritaville machine. We could see someone else struggling with making a smoothie with the blender because it couldn’t blend well.
The basic gist is that we’re better off making these treats at home and if you don’t like soft serve, don’t get the «ice cream» here. You might still be better off going to a Starbucks. Otherwise, nice people work here and I really can’t speak to how they groom dogs.

I’ve only been here for the café, not the dog wash. I got a iced coffee with almond milk. So impressed that they have so many choices for cream/​milk! I will definitely be back with my dog, too; the prices seem very reasonable.

Pretty cool, I brought my dog in today for a bath and some ice cream. We both loved the environment. I purchased the self bath and they let you choose your shampoo and conditioner. Also, you can use teeth, eye & ear wipes included in the price. We will definitely be back. The café area was really nice and cozy.

I brought my dog in to be baby-​sat while on a trip for a couple of days and when I returned he was washed, groomed and happy. The staff at fur busters were caring to his needs and even called me while on vacay to let me know how he was doing just so I could have peace of mind. I definitely recommend fur busters and will be coming back for my future visits. Thanks guys.

I can’t speak for the grooming, but the coffee is delicious! I volunteer with Canine CellMates, and we regularly partner with Perk-​N-​Pooch for events. They are always extremely nice and welcoming constantly asking if we’re doing okay. I can say that they are always busy and dogs and owners come out looking satisfied!

I took my Pittie here for a last minute wash/​dry while in town for a quick visit. Why not have a clean pooch at the hotel w/​out messing up the tub/​towels.
Called and was told they might be able to accommodate if we didn’t have big grooming requests. HB was not only washed but they lightly cleaned her ears, wiped her stained teeth clean and checked nails (no need). Good price for above average service and the staff seemed very comfortable w/​her breed.
We’ll be back when in town again. Great service.

I have never been to a groomer other than Petsmart and I am so glad I found this place! I was not originally looking to go someplace new, however, I was at the park and my dog jumped and played around in a mud puddle (yuck). I usually bathe her at home when it is such late notice and I can’t find an appointment, but it was so bad that I couldn’t even bring her inside my apartment without risking serious damage to my carpet. I started calling every groomer in the Buckhead/​Atlanta and this place was the ONLY one willing to take me on last minute notice.
I was so thankful. And actually SHOCKED at the price– I payed somewhere around $ 30 which is actually amazing because I have a Samoyed who is mostly fluff/​fully grown! When I came back to pick her up, she was so clean and perfectly groomed. They added a cute little pink bandana around her neck and she looked like my cute little fluffy princess once again. I had actually been having a problem with knots forming behind my dog’s ears which the groomer also took care of. She even advised me on how to maintain her fur so she wouldn’t produce the knots again.
Overall, the job was perfectly done and I couldn’t have been more satisfied! I also LOVED the concept to this groomer! If I want to just stop by and have my dog’s nails cut, I could sit in the café area and have a coffee/​ice cream/​any snack. I will most definitely recommend this groomer to all of my friends with pets!

Seriously, the BEST groomer OTP. We love them and are regulars with our Great Pyrenees, Cookie. She is 90lbs and a LOT of work and they do a fabulous job every time.

I have taken my dog here several time and have had a pretty good experience except for my last visit. I had my dog groomed and ask for the same thing that was done the last visit. I came back and was told I owed $ 40 more than I have ever paid before. I’m not one to complain but once I got home I looked through my past receipts and realized they charged $ 15 for a Scissoring fee, Who charges extra to trim a couple of long hairs when you are getting a complete grooming job? The grooming fee was $ 10 higher than normal, and they charged me $ 15 more for the furminator. On top of all this my appointment was at 1:30pm and my dog wasn’t ready until 6:45pm.
Like I said they do good work but I would advice anyone taking there dog there to get a written quote before leaving.

Wow, this place is fantastic!
We brought our very dirty pooch in for an impromptu bath and the second we walked through the door we were greeted by one of the groomers who went straight to the dog to give him love and attention. The dogs are the VIP’s at Perk-​n-​Pooch…
Once we had given our instructions, which included a nail clipping and a teeth brushing, we stopped into the café section for a coffee. Through the glass wall of the café, we could see our groomer rolling around on the floor with our pup and making him feel comfortable. I love that!
When we returned to pick up our pup we hardly recognized him! The groomer continued to be incredibly sweet with our little mutt and we were almost a little sad to tear these two new friends apart. We will definitely be back!

Called from the park where my dogs undercoat was coming off in tumbleweeds. I’m the worst mommy for waiting until July 2 to get Kittles’ summer cut but thankfully Tracy, the groomer at PNP could take our walk in right away!
I drove over from the park with two pups. We checked in and almost immediately Tracy started on Kit. Probably took about half hour — Kit’s coat is so thick. In the meantime we got Cadence’s nails cut and I got an iced coffee to hang out with! It IS beverages and dog grooming after all!
I’ve stopped in a couple times and have washed the dog myself. They provide everything you need — soap, brush, apron, dryer, elevated sink with ramp and doggy door, etc. So it is very convenient (and inexpensive) but because my dog is extremely hairy and is scared of most things, I’m the kinda person that appreciates paying someone else to wash and dry her. It’s a bit more than if you did it yourself of course but well worth it, and without having to make an appt at the Vet for it to be done. PLUS added «local biz» bonus!
Great concept, cool place, friendly service! I am so glad this place is not far from me, in the burbs! …and so is my now nice-​and-​cool pup!
