We haven’t missed it in years… GREATMEAL… lobster, potato salad, clam chowder, corn on the cob, bread, and lots of melted butter. Unfortunately we had to grab it take out this year and missed the best part… running into old friends and being reminded of the amazing community we are a part of

YAYLOBSTERFEST! 2 nights a year(the second week in June — Friday/Saturday) — the best food in town. It’s a huge event and they serve up about 2000 lobsters and 600 lbs of ribeye. You can have your choice of lobster or steak(or hamburgers and hot dogs for the kids at a much discounted ticket price), and you get sides like potato salad, Manhattan clam chowder, corn on the cob and a roll. Your ticket is also good for a drink(beer, wine or soda). They have a bar set up under the tents out front, a gambling table(with a money wheel), and a live band for both nights. Oh and they have a clam bar as well. It has clams on the half shell, steamers and shrimp. The food was awesome. I got the lobster and it was so succulent and fresh and it was honestly the best lobster I’ve ever had. That potato salad is fantastic as well. I want the recipe! It’s all set up in the bays of the fire house(where they park the trucks) they have tables throughout with buckets on the tables for your shells, the claw crackers are spread around the tables and the picks are up next to the serving line. The trucks are pulled out and open so the kids can play in them and there is some gear around for the kids to try on too. This event gets packed! You can buy your tickets at the door, but it is cheaper to buy them ahead of time(only a few dollars cheaper though so don’t worry if you miss it). The line can be huge! but thankfully it went fast. I’d recommend having someone in your group go and scout out a table for everyone while you’re in line. Parking can be insane as well — but you can park in the field behind the fire house(follow the signs), so it’s really not that bad if you can handle walking about 200 yards. ****Please don’t block in any fire trucks! The department is still working and a crew is on duty — they need to be able to get out on any calls. ***** It’s delicious food and a fun party. Rain or shine you’re guaranteed to have a great time here. Come by and try out some wonderful local flavor while supporting a good cause(the fire department!) And, they *do* take credit cards!
