History

Established in 2008.

The idea arose after the frustrating experiences owner Irene Caulfield and her daughter Katy had while trying to find the perfect dress for prom. What should have been a fun, mother-daughter event became a nightmare. The challenge to find a beautiful gown in a friendly and relaxed environment inspired Irene to open a store where girls could do just that.

When searching for the right name for the store, Irene and her mother came up with «Sabrina Style», after the Audrey Hepburn movie, «Sabrina.» Audrey Hepburn is a fashion icon who possesses a timeless, classic and original style that they wanted to represent in the store.

Meet the Business Owner

Irene C.

Business Owner

Irene Caulfield grew up in Riverdale, Bronx, New York. After attending Fieldston High School, she decided to get into acting, while simultaneously managing various boutiques and retail clothing stores in Manhattan. Irene then became a licensed and practicing massage therapist for a few years. After having her two children, Katy and Chris, she decided to build her dream home in Newtown, Connecticut and did so as the general contractor. Irene, her husband Chris, and her two young children moved to Newtown in 1994. Irene took time to raise and be with her kids while they went through the Newtown School System. In 2008, she started a small prom dress business out of the basement of her home. The next year, in August of 2009, she moved her growing business to 4 Washington Avenue in Sandy Hook, CT and called it Sabrina Style.
